"Where the hell were you? I have been calling you for the last 45 minutes. I was almost going to leave without you and where is your phone?"

Bryon

"Geez. Calm down. I lost my way looking around. What's with the rush?"

Shane

"I don't have time to explain now. I have packed everything. Meet me outside. I will explain everything later."

Bryon

"Fine. Let's go."
Damn, Skyler was right. He really wants to go back so that he doesn't have to face her.

Shane

I had already packed everything and called for a vehicle to go to the airport. I also informed the pilot to get ready for the takeoff. After we took off, I let out a sigh of relief...

Bryon

"Now will you tell me what happened? Why the rush all of a sudden?"

Shane

"I met Skyler and she caught me. I ended up telling her I love you. I shouldn't have done it. I couldn't face her and stay there. I would have told her everything."

Bryon

"I saw her too."

Shane

"What? Did she see you?"

Bryon

"No. She didn't see me. I was passing by her door and I saw her. It's better if I don't tell you what I saw."

Shane

"What is it? Tell me now."
Bryon face held down and I knew I would not like what he was going to say.

Bryon

"She was crying and Noah comforted her. Then when Noah was about to leave she held his hand asking him to stay with her. She didn't want to be alone tonight."

Shane

"I can't. I mean...What?After I just told her I love you."

Bryon

"You should have told her the truth, Shane. I don't want to upset you but Noah is a nice guy and he loves her. It's just a matter of time. She will move on. This is what you wanted. If only you told her everything..."

Shane

"Stop. I cannot hear it anymore."
Its easier said than done. Now that she is really interested in someone. I can't even imagine it. It made my blood boil only at the thought of it. I can't expect her to wait for me forever. Damnit, it will be hard to see her moving on. I will have to avoid her. I tried to sleep but I couldn't after Bryon told me about Skyler and Noah and he told me how close they are.

Skyler

(Throws a snowball)

Noah

"You.Wait and watch."(throws a snowball at her)

Skyler

"Stopped it Noah.No, Wait."

Noah

(Comes close to her and they both fall on the snow. Skyler on top of Noah.)

Skyler

(Giggles)

Noah

"You have a beautiful smile you know."

Skyler

(Blushes)

Noah

"I really love you Sky."

Skyler

(Leans in to kiss Noah)

Shane

I wake up from that dream and punch my fist at the table in front of me.No...How will I tolerate this? It hasn't been a few hours and I can't get the picture of Sky and him out of my mind.

Bryon

"Shane. Calm down. You can't hurt yourself. This had to happen someday. I know it hurts."

Shane

"Yeah..."

Bryon

I immediately texted Skyler that her plan is working so far.

Shane

I take a look at Bryon who is texting someone from his phone smiling looking at the screen.
"Who are you texting?"

Bryon

"Mom."

Shane

"Alright."

1 week later

Shane

I was exhausted. I had drowned myself into work since I got back from Switzerland but couldn't shake my mind off it. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I just lay on the bed with my clothes on. I was in Bryon's house because I was in no mood to see Emily and argue after everything. I couldn't sleep after Bryon told me about Skyler and Noah and he told me how close they have got after the trip and avoiding her was the best solution because there was no way I could see them all close together. I should have told her or not. I can't think of anything. Am I doing things right by pushing her away? I quickly take a shower and try to get some sleep but I couldn't. I was tossing and turning. I then take out my phone and look at some videos of her.

Skyler
"Why are you shooting me?"

Shane
"Because I want to keep these videos as memories to show our children."

Skyler
"We aren't even married yet and you have already thought of kids."

Shane
"Yeah. I have thought about the names too. If we have a boy then it Max and if its a girl Stella."

Skyler
"I really like those names but what if I have twins?"

Shane
"I really didn't think of that."

Skyler
(Giggles)

Skyler
"Will, you ever leave me?"

"Even after I get old and wrinkly."

Shane
"No. I will hold your hand when you won't be able to talk. For me, you will always be My Beautiful Sky even if you get old and wrinkly. We will buy the house at the beach and watch sunsets together after I retire."

Skyler
"I love you so much, Shane. I am so lucky to have found you."

Shane
"I should be the one telling that. I love you, Sky, and always will..."

"You can't sleep."

Shane
"There is this thing at work and everyone in the office is tensed about it. It's getting worse and worse and we don't what to do."

Skyler
"Well, you are Shane Smith. You will find a way out."

Shane
"I really hope that. I can't really sleep with all of this going on in my head. I just can't."

Skyler
"Fine. I have the perfect way to make you go to sleep."

Shane
"Whatever helps me to sleep."

Skyler
"Everything's gonna be alright..."

Shane
"So you are singing a lullaby now."

Skyler
"Yeah."

Shane
"Let me record it so that I can hear it when I can't sleep."

Skyler
"I will always be with you to sing for you but as you wish."

Shane
"Start..."

Skyler
"Everything's gonna be alright,
Pull up your socks and sit uptightly,
There will be times when everything will be bad,
All you would see is find yourself sad,
When your eyes won't be able to stop,
When everything is making you drop.
Just have patience and go with the flow,
Coz things will be better after it's done being low,
All you need to do is change your eyesight,

Watching the video, I forgot everything and it felt like she was here with me. I could feel her soft delicate fingers run through my hair and smell her fruity citrus perfume and coconut shampoo. In the sweet melody of her voice, I succumbed to sleep.

The next morning...

Shane

The next morning, I was peacefully sleeping and Bryon came and woke me up.

Bryon

"Shane. You have to wake up now."

Shane

I sit up in my bed, rubbing my eyes, yawning having not completed my sleep. I was frustrated because he just woke me up so abruptly.
"Bryon, What happened?After so long I was having a good night's sleep."
I squint my eyes and got off of my bed. I wear my slippers and walk to the bathroom washing my face and turn to Bryon. Who was panting and hadn't said anything?
"Will you tell me why you woke me up?"

Bryon

"Skyler, She..."

Shane

I get alarmed when he said, Skyler. The expressions on his face told me he didn't have good news...
"What happened to Sky?"

Bryon

"Noah and Skyler."

Shane

"What Noah and Sky?"

Bryon

"I just got off from a phone call from Rainer and he told me Noah is going to."

Shane

"Noah is going to do what. Tell me fast. You are scaring me."

Bryon

"Noah and Skyler are on a date. They are going to have brunch at this restaurant downtown and he is going to propose her."

Shane

"What the actual fuck!This is so fast. They know each other for like months. She won't say yes. Right?"

Bryon

"I don't think so. He sounded very confident. I am afraid. This is your only chance or you lose her."

Shane

"Text me the address."
Taking my phone and my car keys. I rushed outside to the restaurant Bryon sent me the address to. I didn't even care about changing clothes. I have to reach as fast as I can. I can't let this happen.No, Skyler please don't say yes. I am coming. Fuck this traffic. I honked a couple of times. Shit, I am gonna be late. I park my car too sideways when I got the chance and called Bryon to pick it up and went in running. Thirty minutes of walking distance from here.What if I run from here? I can reach before time.

Man in the street

"Watch where you are going, idiot. Scattered all my books everywhere."

Shane

"I am sorry."
I ran as if there was no tomorrow. I couldn't feel my legs anymore. That's what happens when you stop working out but at that moment I didn't care. The only thing that mattered was to reach the place as soon as possible and stop Noah. I hope I am not too late. I reached the restaurant and the manager.

Manager

"Excuse me, sir. The restaurant is booked by someone. You can't go in."

Shane

"You have to let me in. I have to go."

Manager

"I am sorry Sir."

Shane

I didn't listen to him and entered anyways but I was too late.

Skyler

"Yes, I will marry you, Noah..."
(Kisses Noah)

Manager

"I am sorry Sir. We tried to stop him."

Shane

Everything went silent after that. I fell on my knees. Skyler glanced at me worried but now She is going to marry Noah. I was late.
I lost her...
