Shane

Skyler throws a snowball at Noah and she is smiling to see his face.
"You. Wait and watch." He takes a lump of snowmaking a snowball and throws it on her. She starts running in the opposite direction."Stopped it Noah. No, Wait."

Noah chases Skyler around in the snow shooting snowballs at her and he comes closer to her tripping and Skyler falls on top of him. I could see her blushing as she giggles when he pushes a strand of hair behind her ear.
"You have a beautiful smile you know." She blushed as he had a grin onis face.

"I love you Sky." He calls her Sky. Only I can call her Sky. I see Skyler leaning to kiss him.

I wake up from that dream and look around. It was just a dream which seemed pretty real. The sight of them together made my blood boil and I punch my fist at the table in front of me.

No...

How will I tolerate this? It hasn't been a few hours and I can't get the picture of Sky and him out of my mind. He said placing a hand on my shoulder. "Shane. Calm down. You can't hurt yourself. This had to happen someday. I know it hurts."

"She caught me, Bryon., I blurted out that I love her." I explained. Bryon came into the lobby in about forty-five minutes. He was taking a look around the hotel.

I shove him into the car and then the plane without any explanation.
I dozed off the minute we took off and we didn't have a chance to talk.

"I saw her too." I look at him surprised. Where and when did he see her?

"What? Did she see you?" I asked him. The situation is already worse. I didn't want to complicate more things so I left the place.

He shook his head." No. She didn't see me. I was passing by her door and I saw her. It's better if I don't tell you what I saw." I wanted to know what happened. 

"What is it? Tell me now."Bryon face held down and I knew I would not like what he was going to say.
"She was crying and Noah comforted her. Then when Noah was about to leave she held his hand asking him to stay with her. She didn't want to be alone tonight."
Oh, God! My head is gonna explode. He is going to stay the night with her. Anything can happen and imagining it made my heartache."I can't. I mean...What?After I just told her I love you."

Bryon had an apologetic look on his face."You should have told her the truth, Shane. I don't want to upset you but Noah is a nice guy and he loves her. It's just a matter of time. She will move on. This is what you wanted. If only you told her everything..." I know. I always thought about it. What would have happened if I had told her the truth? Will things be different? I guess I would never know.

"Stop. I cannot hear it anymore."
It's easier said than done. Now that she is interested in someone. I can't even imagine it. It made my blood boil only at the thought of it.

I can't expect her to wait for me forever. Damnit, it will be hard to see her moving on. I will have to avoid her. I tried to sleep but I couldn't after Bryon told me about Skyler and Noah and he told me how close they are.

I take a look at Bryon who is texting someone from his phone smiling looking at the screen.
"Who are you texting?"

He keeps his phone aside and he replied."Mom."

"Alright." I wasn't ed but I didn't push him. Then thinking of her I fell asleep.

1 week later

Shane

I was exhausted. I had drowned myself into work since I got back from Switzerland but couldn't shake my mind off it. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I just lay on the bed with my clothes on.

I was in Bryon's house because I was in no mood to see Emily and argue after everything. I couldn't sleep after Bryon told me about Skyler and Noah and he told me how close they have got after the trip and avoiding her was the best solution because there was no way

I could see them all close together. I should have told her or not. I can't think of anything. Am I doing things right by pushing her away? I quickly take a shower and try to get some sleep but I couldn't. I was tossing and turning on the bed. I  take my phone from the side stand and look at some videos of her.

Skyler
"Why are you shooting me?"

Shane
"Because I want to keep these videos as memories to show our children."

Skyler
"We aren't even married yet and you have already thought of kids."

Shane
"Yeah. I have thought about the names too. If we have a boy then it Max and if it's girl Stella."

Skyler
"I like those names but what if I have twins?"

Shane
"I didn't think of that."

Skyler
(Giggles)

"Shane, how much do you love me?"

Shane
"More than me."

Skyler
"Will, you ever leave me?"

Shane
"Never."

Skyler
"Even after I get old and wrinkly."

Shane
"No. I will hold your hand when you won't be able to walk. For me, you will always be My Beautiful Sky even if you get old and wrinkly. We will buy the house at the beach and watch sunsets together after I retire."

Skyler
"I love you so much, Shane. I am so lucky to have found you."

Shane
"I should be the one telling that. I love you, Sky, and always will..."

"You can't sleep."

Shane
"There is this thing at work and everyone in the office is tensed about it. It's getting worse and worse and we don't what to do."

Skyler
"Well, you are Shane Smith. You will find a way out."

Shane
"I hope that. I can't ith all of this going on in my head. I just can't."

Skyler
"Fine. I have the perfect way to make you go to sleep."

Shane
"Whatever helps me to sleep."

Skyler
"Everything's gonna be alright..."

Shane
"So you are singing a lullaby now."

Skyler
"Yeah."

Shane
"Let me record it so that I can hear it when I can't sleep."

Skyler
"I will always be with you to sing for you but as you wish."

Shane
"Start..."

Skyler
"Everything's gonna be alright,
Pull up your socks and sit uptightly,
There will be times when everything will be bad,
All you would see is find yourself sad,
When your eyes won't be able to stop,
When everything is making you drop.
Just have patience and go with the flow,
Coz things will be better after it's done being low,
All you need to do is change your eyesight,
In every dark situation find what's bright.
You are much stronger than you know,
You can make all your problems go,
Never say it can't get worse,
Because that's when it does,
You would wish it's just a bad dream,
Coz the truth is bitter as neem.
Lies can never be preferred over what's true,
Coz lies are like dead-ends with no clue,
Say to yourself that you will do it,
Even if it's slow and bit by bit.
You will have your way easily through this,
And that's when you will know what's bliss,
Have courage and give yourself motivation,
Stay strong coz that's the only solution,

Watching the video, I forgot everything and it felt like she was here with me. I could feel her soft delicate fingers run through my hair and smell her fruity citrus perfume and coconut shampoo. In the sweet melody of her voice, I succumbed to sleep.

I was peacefully sleeping and Bryon came and woke me up. He shook me up vigorously that I woke up."Shane. You have to wake up now."

I sit up in my bed, rubbing my eyes, yawning having not completed my sleep. I was frustrated because he just woke me up so abruptly."Bryon, What happened?After so long I was having a good night's sleep."

I squint my eyes and got off of my bed. I wear my slippers and walk to the bathroom washing my face and turn to Bryon. Who was panting and hadn't said anything?
"Will you tell me why you woke me up?"

"Skyler, She..." I get alarmed when he said, Skyler. The expressions on his face told me he didn't have good news. "What happened to Sky?"

"Noah and Skyler." I was completely awake by now. Tell me fast, what about Noah and Skyler.
"What Noah and Sky?"

"I just got off from a phone call from Rainer and he told me Noah is going to." Going to. What?

"Noah is going to do what. Tell me fast. You are scaring me."

"Noah and Skyler are on a date. They are going to have brunch at this restaurant downtown and he is going to propose to her." He said and my heart sank. Noah is going to propose Skyler. What if she says yes?

"What the actual fuck!This is so fast. They know each other for months. She won't say yes. Right?"
I ask him. Bryon was close to Skyler because I told him to. He must know about it. "I don't think so. He sounded very confident. I am afraid. This is your only chance or you lose her."

"Text me the address." Taking my phone and my car keys. I rushed outside to the restaurant Bryon sent me the address to. I didn't even care about changing clothes. I have to reach as fast as I can. I can't let this happen.

No, Skyler please don't say yes. I am coming. Fuck this traffic. I honked a couple of times. Shit, I am gonna be late.

I park my car too sideways when I got the chance and called Bryon to pick it up and went in running. Thirty minutes of walking distance from here.What if I run from here? I can reach before time."Watch where you are going, idiot. Scattered all my books everywhere." Some stranger yelled at me as I dropped his coffee. I hand him a few notes and apologize."I am sorry."

I ran as if there was no tomorrow. I couldn't feel my legs anymore. That's what happens when you stop working out but at that moment I didn't care. The only thing that mattered was to reach the place as soon as possible and stop Noah. I hope I am not too late. I reached the restaurant and the manager. He blocked my way and my eyes were at the door."Excuse me, sir. The restaurant is booked by someone. You can't go in."

"You have to let me in. I have to go."
He was pushing me out when I was in my position."I am sorry Sir."

I didn't listen to him and entered anyways but I was too late.
"Yes, I will marry you, Noah..." I saw her kiss, Noah.

Everything went silent after that. I fell on my knees. My heart was thumping in my chest it felt like someone stabbed me in the heart and I was oozing out blood. I had tears in my eyes as Skyler glanced at me worried but now she is going to marry Noah.
I was late.

I lost her...
