Noah was confused by my call yesterday. When I came back home I don't know why I had a huge smile on my face. I guess I went there hoping to meet him. Maybe...
I don't know. Noah bombarded me with questions and I explained to him why I was acting so weird on the call. Noah had made us dinner and we sat down to eat while I kept thinking of him. I was exhausted so I went straight to bed and I had a good night's sleep as I dreamt of him.

Next day

I head back to the office early for the meeting. On the way, Scarlet left me a text informing me that she will not be able to come to work as she has to take her mother to the hospital as she fell down the stairs. I have to handle all of it alone.

I make my way to the coffee machine and make myself a cup of coffee. I went back to my cabin and sit down on my chair as I switched on my laptop. I look at the time at the watch. It was close to 11 am. They should be here anytime.

I heard a knock and as soon as I heard his voice I looked up and I wasn't wrong about my assumption. It was him again. Now I knew what Scarlet meant when she asked me if I was sure about the meeting. He flashed his mischievous smirk flicking his hair."It's nice meeting you again Miss Skyler."

He looked way better than he looked the other day. He had trimmed his hair and had a clean shave. His hair was perfectly gelled and combed. The gloomy look on his face was no longer present and he looked fresh and happy. There was another type of glow on his face as he smiles looking at me.

This was the Shane I knew.

There was something behind his smile which said he was so delighted and that made me smile a bit. I couldn't help but was worried when I saw him so drunk that day and when I saw him at the beach alone on his birthday. I was a bit relieved to see him all fine but I can't let him in again after all I have been through since he chose to leave. "Are you kidding me?"

I saw Tyler right beside him too but my eyes were on him bubbling with anger. He said shocked. Is he pretending nothing happened between us?"Is this the way you talk to your clients Miss Skyler?"

"Mom is calling. I should pick up."
Tyler left and the look on his face explained he didn't want to get in between for war was about to begin. I stood up from the chair and walked up to him. I said taking a sharp breath showing him the way to the door."We should not waste time. There is no way I am working with you. You know the way out."

"Can I know the reason for it?" I stood right in front of him crossing my arms. I was angry at him but standing so close to him made my heartbeat race. As I stood close to him, I closely admired him. He was wearing a navy blue suit. Did I mention it earlier how sexy he looked in a suit? I was barely hanging on my sanity. His favorite watch on his hand.

I forgot how handsome he was. He was hella attractive and I couldn't deny that even if things were changed. He was the same. I was intimidated as I looked up straight into his eyes.

Don't dare flinching, Skyler.

He takes a step close. I try to look away from him. He still had that effect on me which made my toes curl and made my heart flutter whenever he came close.

I cannot let him break me again. I don't know if I will be able to heal from it because I still haven't healed and it has been a year.
"Simple, I don't want you here."

He complained. I am not doing any business with him. That's my decision to make."This is not professional."

"Do you know where you are standing? My office, My wish." I shrugged. He smirks. I knew he had some evil plan he was cooking in his head. This isn't going to be good. He starts narrating.

"Let me tell you a story. A personal one to be precise. Once I used to be like you are right now. I brought personal hatred in between the business and I almost fired my assistant because which was highly unprofessional of me to do."
It didn't take me hard to guess that he was talking about me.

I glared at him and he continues.
"She complained to my Dad for it and that day I learned one thing. Never bring personal hatred to work. She said something like let me remember." He paused trying to remember something and then proceeds.

"Ahh yes! I remember earlier today due to some misunderstandings I might have judged him wrong and accused him. Now he is bringing that here and firing me."

Using my words against me. He won't leave until I accept it. He is as stubborn as me. "Ok fine. I get your point. I will have my assistant look over it and have the papers of the deal sent to you by tomorrow and let you know if I want to do business with you." I extend my hand for a handshake and I take it back as soon as he extends his hand.

Two can play a game, Shane. If you can use my own words against me I can use your tactics too. He had a smile on his face as I winked ar him."Not so fast Mr.Smith. After the deal is done."

"Whatever pleases you." He turns around to exit and pauses for a second. He turns back again and walks back to me again."How do you feel after lying about your boyfriend?"

Of course. I knew he would know it. He asked Bryon. I shrugged. "I wasn't lying."

"Quit the act. I know he is your best friend." He said confidently. He thinks he knows me well.

I agree with him and he smiles as he sees me surrendering that I  was lying. "You are right. He is my best friend but he is really really sweet and caring and he likes me. It's just a matter of time we start dating. He is so understanding, caring, and looks handsome and how can I forget how amazing he is in bed."

I blush as I batted my eyelashes smiling. Wow, I can be an actor. That's a lie. Well, the last part. We slept together as in sleeping together when I had nightmares. He would hold me till I sleep. We did nothing more but he doesn't have to know that.

If he knows me too well. I do too. I know the right buttons to push and it was working. He clenched his fists to control and his eyes narrowed down at the thought of me dating someone else. I wanted him to react like that.

He takes a deep breath and before someone could say anything Noah knocks on the door."I am sorry I thought you were free. I will come in later."

I say. He comes in and I stand close to him. "No of course not. We are done. You can come anytime. Come in." I kissed his cheek and whispered in his ear "Play along."

He smiles awkwardly. Noah can be a good actor considering he is a film director but now he seems to be failing. Stupid Noah...

I put my hand on his and point my eyes. Noah takes the hint and puts his hand on my waist. I introduce them."Noah, meet Shane and Shane this is Noah, my soon-to-be boyfriend."

He smiles sarcastically and shared a firm handshake with Noah. The anger in his eyes made me wanna laugh but I controlled it. This is fun."Nice to finally meet you, Noah."

Noah said smiling. "Nice to meet you."

"I could say the same. Skyler talks about her best friend a lot." He winks at me as he stood confident. His gaze not leaving mine. Fucking Shane. He didn't buy it.

"We are just done here. Are you here to discuss our stay in Switzerland?"
I purposely bring out the topic while Shane was here. Though he knew nothing was going on between me and Noah. He would go crazy thinking about if we get together and that sounds like a brilliant idea.

"Uh-huh." Noah shrugged.

"I have to use the washroom."
Noah leaves and I was left alone with him again. He comes close to me. I could smell his cologne and aftershave. The scent which drove me crazy and made me feel home is now someone else's man. I take a deep breath and he leans in, not knowing what to do I close my eyes he whispers in my ear and now I could smell his minty breath. I feel his warm breath which sent tingles down my spine.
"You can lie to make me jealous Sky but you can't deny the spark between us."

I was lost totally. After that, he leaves but I couldn't move from my place. I stood at my place trying to process what just happened and he leaves.

Noah comes in as soon as Shane leaves."What's happening between you two?"

I nodded. Why are he confusing things? Playing these mind games with me. What does he want? "Nothing."

"And Switzerland. I didn't know we were going somewhere." Noah asks surprised. He didn't know about Switzerland. I planned it out. It was not spontaneous because of Shane. It was Daphne's birthday. One of our best friends and it's been a long time since the whole gang was out so I planned.
I explained, "We are going to Switzerland tomorrow."

"Are you serious?" He looked at me to make sure I wasn't joking.

"Yeah. It's Daphne's birthday and I planned it all." He hugs me. This was the best timing ever. I needed this time off away from Shane. When I could enjoy myself with my friends and take my mind off things...

Shane

I was surprised when I get a call back from Youthful Threads about the meeting. I wasn't expecting Skyler to do a meeting with me. I took Tyler with me to attend the meeting and on the way here, the only thing I heard was "It's a bad idea."

I knew it was a bad idea but it is worth the try. Skyler is worth the try. I drive her to her company and someone named Anthony guided us to her office.

We were standing in front of a cabin with her name written in bold Skyler. I felt proud of what she had achieved. Before I could go in, Tyler pulled my sleeve. "I think we should head back."

"Come on Tyler, it's not like she is gonna eat us." I knock on the door and enter to see Skyler sitting on the chair. I say and she lifts her head. I grinned."It's nice meeting you again Miss Skyler."

I take a look around her cabin. It gave me Skyler vibes. There was a bookshelf right behind her table. There was a couch on the right and a table right in front of her. There were fresh lilies in the vase.

"Are you kidding me?" She looked surprised. I guess she didn't know it was us she had a meeting with.

"Is this the way you talk to your clients Miss Skyler?" I raised my eyebrows. She glares at me.

"Mom is calling. I should pick up."
Tyler left pretending to be in a call. Better. I knew he didn't want to be interrupting us.

She stood up from the chair and walks up to me and I couldn't shift my gaze to somewhere else. As soon as she stood up. I could finally see her properly.

Damn! She looked hot. My hands move up to my neck loosening the tie. She was wearing a white v neck blouse and black pencil skirt which till her knees. The skirt hugging her curves right. I kept my gaze down at her legs as she walked towards me. She was wearing black matching heels which made me look tall.

She stands right in front of me and crossed her arms at her chest. Even though she was wearing heels she had to look up at me. I glance at her face. Her beautiful face. Those light brown eyes filled with anger and frustration but I could see the hidden love behind them. She had red lipstick on and a light pink blush on her cheeks.
She had tied her hair up in a bun and strands of hair were let loose. She was wearing long heels and hoop earrings.

She looked gorgeous. Then she said angrily."We should not waste time. There is no way I am working with you. You know the way out."

"Can I know the reason for it?"
She was fuming but I knew what I had to do. I was loving this. She looked so hot when she was angry and I couldn't deny it.

May I say she looks incredibly sexy in her formals? It made her look so smart and I was loving this new look on her. Damn, it was killing me. I just want to pull her close to me and kiss those lips hard but I will have to control myself.

I take a step closer to her. She is now nervous with the little or almost no space between us. I could feel her increasing heartbeat. She tries to steal her glance away from me. I could feel her heartbeat increasing second by second with her this close and I smirked knowing the effect I still had on her.

She gulped."Simple, I don't want you here."I could see it in her eyes. As much as she wants me she doesn't want herself to hurt more. She was conflicted...
"This is not professional."

She scoffs."Do you know where you are standing? My office, My wish."

I was prepared for this. I knew she wasn't going to accept so easily. Knowing her I knew she wouldn't deny after this. "Let me tell you a story. A personal one to be precise. I was as furious as she was. Look at how long we had come. From hate to love to pretend to hate each other.

"Ok fine. I get your point. I will have my assistant look over it and have the papers of the deal sent to you by tomorrow and let you know if I want to do business with you."
She agrees and I was partying internally. She extends her hand for a handshake and as soon as I take my hand out to shake hands she takes it back and winks. I smile. She is doing what I did to her when I took my hand away...

"Not so fast Mr.Smith.After the deal is done."

"Whatever pleases you."

I turn back to leave but then I thought of something so I turn to face her."How do you feel after lying about your boyfriend?"
She narrows her eyes at me surprised I knew the truth and she shrugged. "I wasn't lying."

"Quit the act. I know he is your best friend." I say. If something were to happens between the two. Bryon told me everything. He clearly said they weren't dating and tell it my gut feeling. I knew she wasn't seeing anybody.

She nods. You are right. He is my best friend but he is really really sweet and caring and he likes me. It's just a matter of time we start dating. He is so understanding, caring, and looks handsome and how can I forget how amazing he is in bed." She blushed as she lowered her gaze.

Nice acting, Sky...

You got me for a second but I know you are just trying to make me feel jealous. Still, I was fuming with anger but I also knew she was just messing around with me. I knew that for sure so I took a deep breath and calmed down.

She is just messing around me.

Calm down...

I heard a knock but didn't turn around to see who it was. It was a man's voice."I am sorry I thought you were free. I will come in later."
My eyes didn't shift from hers but I see the smirk on her face seeing the person on the door. She is planning something. Who is this person?

"No of course not. We are done. You can come anytime. Come in."
A tall man a little short than me comes in. He was a compact, clearcut man, with precise features, a lot of very soft blonde hair, and thoughtful green hazel eyes. It looks like I have seen him somewhere I can't recollect.

He comes close and hugs Skyler by the side. Skyler places a kiss on his cheek and with the look on his face, I can say he is startled by her kiss and I knew she did it only to mess with me. She whispers something in her ear which wasn't audible to me. Of course, I know Skyler, she is trying to make me jealous which I am but it's fine but who is he? I think he was with her the other day too if I am not mistaken.

I look back at Skyler who had a mischievous grin on her face. She holds his hand and forces him to hold him by his waist."Noah, meet Shane and Shane this is Noah, my soon-to-be boyfriend." So this is the famous Noah.

Soon to be a boyfriend. My ass... "Nice to finally meet you, Noah."
I laugh knowing I was joking and she groans because her plan failed. We shook hands while I glanced at Skyler.

"Nice to meet you."

"I could say the same. Skyler talks about her best friend a lot."
I wink at Skyler trying to tell her that her plan of making me jealous didn't work. She diverts the topic."We are just done here. Are you here to discuss our stay in Switzerland?"

"Uh-huh." Noah awkwardly nods as he didn't know anything about what Skyler was saying. Good job Skyler but I know you just want to mess around with me by telling me about Switzerland knowing I am here. Is she joking or is she serious? I will have to find out.
He says and leaves."I have to use the washroom."

As soon as he leaves, I close the distance between us. Looking straight into her eyes and then I leaned in whispering in her hair. She gulped as the tension increased in the room.

I could see it was working and leaning more I whispered in a deep husky voice."You can lie to make me jealous Sky but you can't deny the spark between us."
I leave the place not looking behind but I already knew she was standing still in her place, shocked about what happened.

I didn't just go outside. I was hiding outside her cabin waiting for Noah to enter. I see Noah go in and close the door behind him. I was listening to their conversation. I kept my ear at the door to listen to what they had to say. I heard muffled voices from outside.
He argues. "What's happening between you two?"

She said."Nothing."

"And in Switzerland. I didn't know we were going somewhere."

"We are going to Switzerland tomorrow." So they are going to Switzerland.

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah. It's Daphne's birthday and I planned it all." I walk outside to where Tyler was waiting.

He frowned."I knew we wouldn't get the deal."

"Consider it done, Ty. Let's go."
He was shocked but I knew my ways."How and what did you do?"

"Nothing." I nodded as we walk out of the building.

"Let's go. I have to pack. I have to be somewhere."

(Noah and Skyler are going to Switzerland. Will something happen between Noah and Skyler? What will Shane do?
Everything will be revealed in the second chapter.)
