Shane

"You look tired." Her eyes were closing and she looked exhausted. She yawned stretching her arms."Yes but I am fine. I will go freshen up."

"I will go call Dad meanwhile."
Skyler went up to her room to freshen up while I went back to the living room to call Dad.

"Hello Shane, We were worried when you didn't receive our calls."
He says. I was scared seeing Skyler break down. She kept screaming in her sleep 'I don't want to die.' And I would just hold her in my arms trying to calm her but nothing helped. So, I wanted to check with the doctor before anything. So the first thing we did in the morning was go visit the doctor.
"We were at the hospital for a checkup."

"What did the doctor say?"

"The treatment is working. There is nothing to worry about. Her condition is improving." I was relieved at that.

"That's great. I hope she gets well soon."

"Which is why I have to talk to you and mom."

"We will drop by later today."

After I hang up with Dad. Skyler was still in the bathroom so I decided to take a bath in the meantime.

After I was done I went on to check on Skyler. I called out for her and she didn't answer so I went into her room to check and found her sleeping peacefully in her bed. I knew she was tired.

I went in close and covered her with a blanket and kissed her forehead and leave her room closing the door behind me.

I should do some work till she is asleep. I moved downstairs to the living room to get my phone and call Tyler is when he enters through the door with the files in his hands."I knew you were going to ask."

"You know me well. Let check it outside." The weather was good today. I was planning on doing it outside in the sitting area near the pool. Tyler suggests"I will bring coffee."

I joke."Don't burn my house down."
Mom, Taylor, and I can cook. I can't compete with them in cooking but I know how to. Dad can make the best pancakes in the world. Better than mom. There is no competition in that. I have never come across any place that can make pancakes like him but Tyler...

He is the worst one of us. I remember eating eggshells in his omellete. If that wasn't enough I have tried his salted coffee and I can't ever forget the time he almost burnt down the house in attempting to bake a cake.
"Hey, I can make coffee."

I scoffed and sat outside with the files and analyzed them. I haven't been going to work unless it's very very important. Skyler says she will be fine on her own but I just don't feel like going to work leaving her at home. What if she needs me when I am at work? I check out the files with Tyler and discussed them with him. He says closing all the files."Now that we are done with work. I want you to finally confess."

"What?" I look at him questionably.
"Skyler and You. I want to know everything."

Everything happened so fast that I couldn't get the chance to talk to anyone. Mom and Dad knew about Skyler's parents are because I told them when they visited me and I talked with Dad when we visited the hospital the first time and he told everyone.

Tyler knew about Skyler from Dad but he wanted to know everything from me. I narrated everything that happened. When I started to feel for Skyler to the Gala to the truth and the reports.

I felt that I kept it from Tyler for so long. We tell each other everything and after the Gala and everything that happened I didn't get the chance to talk to him properly after I gave him to take charge of The Blitz in my absence.
"So I was correct yet you kept denying." He said taking a sip of his coffee.

"I don't know. I was unsure of myself. This is all new for me." I was confused about everything that was happening to me since I had never had serious feelings for someone in a long time.

Tyler was not happy. He had a frown on his face. He mumbles. "I always ran to you to talk about my first crush or my first girlfriend yet you didn't think you could share it with me."

It wasn't about the fact I couldn't share it with him. All of it happened so suddenly and fast. I didn't have time to react. "You know that's not true."

"You always shared everything with Hailey. Even Dad knew about it but you didn't tell me. You know you can share it with me. I want to be there for you like you are there for me. You are not alone Shane. You can talk to me." I realized how wrong I was to not talk to him. He was right. I did talk to Hailey and Dad. I could have talked to him. He is always by my side at work.

"I know Ty. I am sorry. I was confused and I didn't know what to do. It took me so long to confess it to her. Now if you forgive me I will tell you something no one knows yet."

"You know I can't stay mad at you for long but I will need some more convincing." He crosses his arms across his chest. I knew he was going to be dramatic. He always has been since he was a kid.
"How about pizza with chocolate cake for lunch made by me?"

He smiles."Now you are talking. Tell me what do you want to say?"

"You can't tell this to anyone yet."

"Your secret is safe with me."
I tell him everything about what I had planned and he listened to it without interrupting. After I had finished he stood up in excitement.

"That's fantastic. Are you my brother? I have doubts. Where is my brother? What did you do to him?"

"Ty doesn't make me nervous than I already am."He sits beside me and holds my hand to reassure me.
I am sure about this but I am hella nervous.

"I am sure everything will be fine but have you thought about it? Are you sure?" He asks. If there is something I am sure about. It's this. I know I am."Without a doubt. I am very sure."

"What are you so sure about it?"
We look behind to see Skyler standing right behind us. Did she hear it all? It will ruin everything. How long has she been standing there?" I...ahh...Uhm."

"The business deal." Tyler comes up with a lie. I whisper thanks facing Tyler and then facing back to Skyler I asked."You are awake."

"No. I forgot to mention I sleepwalk." She said sarcastically glaring at me. She is moody when she has just woken up from sleep. Tyler laughs."There she is. Now I feel like Skyler is back."

I roll my eyes and Skyler laughs."It isn't funny."

"You are lucky I love you. Now, who is helping me to make lunch?" Tyler raised both of his hands in the air and Skyler shows me the way to the kitchen."You may proceed."

"Yes. You said it yourself I would burn down your house for making coffee. Imagine me making lunch. I am better here." After a lot of persuasion, I convinced Skyler to help me. Of course, I wouldn't let her work that much. I just want her in the kitchen. I did the major work leaving her to do the basic things like washing the vegetables, handing me the ingredients, putting the pizza and cake to bake.

While we were cooking, Tyler set up the table and when he was done with that he kept entertaining us with his joke. Then we sat down at the table to eat.
Tyler says taking a slice."I must say you are improving your cooking skills every day."

"My pleasure." I smirked at the praising by Tyler and bowing down."Hey, I helped you too. I should receive some credit too."

"Of course." I nod and I heard Dad."I see Tyler is in here too."

"I can't miss when Shane is making lunch." He says while eating the last slice. I get up to hug both Mom and Dad and they take a seat with us and Skyler served them a cake.
"Skyler, How are you?"

"I am fine. What about you Ava?"
She replies with a smile and everyone eats cake. Mom said."I am lovely. It's nice to have you back."

"Skyler if you don't mind. I had to talk about something with my parents." I looked at her holding her hand.

"Why not? I will be in the library reading books." She gets up from the table and went in and Tyler tagged along."I am coming with you."

"What did you want to talk about?"
With Skyler and Tyler leaving we sat at the couch and I told them everything I had planned and they paid attention to it. I just wanted to let them know before I make a decision."I wanted to let you know before everything."

I know they will be happy with my decision and support me but I wanted them to know. Mom patted my back."I agree with you and I am glad you did."

"Tyler knows about it and now you both know." That leaves me with Taylor and I will talk to her as soon as I can. Dad frowns."What? Tyler knows before me. I thought we were friends before I am your Dad."
Now I know where Tyler got his dramatic nature from.

"Come on Dad. It's only fair that he came to know before you after I told you first about my feelings."

"Joking but are you sure?"

"Dad, You said it yourself
WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW."
He nods smiling. They both stood up to leave."Let us know if you need help. For now, we are going to Aunt Silver's."

"Sure thing. Say hello To Silver and Austin. You know how pissed she can get if you reach late. I feel pity for Austin." I wanted them to wait for a little while but I know how Aunt Silver is.

"Don't say like that Shane. They are made for each other but you are true. See you soon." We all laughed and then Mom and Dad hugged me and left.

I went to the library where I find out Tyler and Skyler chatting and laughing at something.
"What am I missing?"

Skyler was sitting on a chair with her back facing me. I bend down and holding her from the back kissing her on the cheek.
She titled her face to look at me and I crouched on the seat with her on my lap."What were you talking about?"

"We were talking about how I would have dated Tyler if you didn't confess that day." I was shocked. What is the actual hell? I don't believe this."What?"

"Of course. We would have been great together. Our names are rhyming too. We are partners in crime and have the same interests too. I already love her. My bad she loves you." He was smirking and Skyler smiled looking at him. I was beyond pissed at the thought of Skyler with my brother and what angered me that Skyler didn't oppose the idea.

"So sorry, Tyler. I fell for the wrong one but that's true. Tyler and I are like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that fit together."

"The offer is still open." He winks at her and that was the last thing.

"That's it. Tyler, I swear I will forget you are my brother." As soon as I said that they burst into laughter and I sat down all confused.

"Chill, we were joking." They said. It wasn't funny at all.

I said glaring at him and pulling Skyler close to me. "I wasn't, Ty." Call me possessive. I don't care.

"I know Shane. We were just playing with you. Skyler will be my sister in...I am sorry I mean my best friend and I wouldn't change that for the world. I will leave you two now. I have to go back to the restaurant. Taylor needs help."

Damnit. He was almost going to spill it. Thank God he didn't. I would have killed him if he did.
"Sure thing. See you soon."

"Byeee."After Tyler left I turn around facing my back towards her."I can't believe you would joke like that." She hugged me from the back and I turn around to look at her. I narrowed my eyes to show I was angry in which I was failing badly. It's not my fault she is incredibly cute when she smiles that I can't seem to see anything else."I am sorry but you should have looked at your face. You were fuming."

"Fine. Laugh all you want. Whatever be it others don't stand a chance because
I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU."
I love her more than anything else and I can't think of my life without her. You can tell I was jealous. I was. I cannot stand the sight of Skyler with anyone else.

"You really can't see me with other men." She puts her arms on my waist pulling me close to her as she looked up at me.

"Never. Because
YOU ARE MINE and
I WON'T STOP GETTING JEALOUS OVER OTHER PEOPLE DROOLING OVER YOU."
