I saw Shane pacing towards us angrily and I knew he was pissed. This will not end well. "I want to talk to you, Skyler. I hope you don't mind Tyler."

He glared at Tyler who knew it was not the time to get into arguments. Seeing him made Tyler nervous. He was shaking."I don't."

He was fuming. Now he wants to talk, he can't control everything.
"I am in the middle of something. We can talk later."

"You are going to come with me now." He commands and I glare at him. He can make everyone silenced but not me. I am not afraid of him."You can't order me around."

"Fine. You asked for it." I wasn't prepared for what he did next. Shane grabbed my hand by my wrist and dragged me out of the venue. Everyone was looking at us. I tried to let it go but he didn't leave it.

"Everyone is watching Shane. Leave me now." He held it tight and whatever attempt I made to free myself. I couldn't.

"Does it look like I care? You asked for it. Wouldn't have happened if you listened to me the first time."
Then Shane took me to the parking lot. He opened the car door and gestured me to sit. I was so confused about what he was doing."Sit."

This was not the time for arguments. This was a new side of him I was seeing. He never behaved like this and I knew that I had to listen to him, he wasn't in the mood for arguing.

I sat in the car and then he started to drive. My mind was filled with thoughts."Where are we going? We missed the left home."

"We are not going home." He says angrily. Honestly, I was getting intimidated by his behavior."You are scaring me, Shane."

He realizes and he says softly."It's not like I am going to kidnap you."

After half an hour of silent drive, we reached an unknown location but I could say we were at the lakeside. Shane unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the door. He then stood in front of the car, moving back and forth. He dragged me out of the ballroom and brought me here and isn't doing or saying anything.

I got out of the car and started with the questions. "What is the purpose of bringing me here, Mr.Shane?" He then faces me and says in a tone louder than usual.

"You want to know the purpose. What are you doing Skyler?"

I am not supposed to answer questions. He is. "What am I doing? You dragged me out of there and brought me here."

"Dancing with my brother. Ignoring me and then whatnot. What happened all of a sudden? Things were going great." His face softened and he looked upset. I wanted to know why. Why does he care what I do if he has a girlfriend?

"What's wrong in that? I am single. I don't have a boyfriend. I can do whatever I want. I don't have to ask for your approval. What's the matter in that?"

"Matter." Shane then throws his hand in the air. He was frustrated. He then puts his hands near my shoulders.

"Don't you see why it is bothering me so much? You know I am not that good at expressing my feelings." He was all calmed down. Sadness took over anger and his eyes glinted with doubt and nervousness."What do you mean Shane?"

He sighs. "You make me do things I have never done before. I withdrew from the deal. I came after you when you left. You are the first one I allowed in my house. My life was all boring before you entered. In between our hatred, I got used to having you by my side. You made me realize the world outside work. You changed my perspective."

"But Shane..." Shane lowers his eyes and places a finger on my lips as I try to say something. He closed his eyes and takes a deep breath.

"Shhh! Let me speak. I don't know how long it took me to find the courage to confess. Maybe because of the liquid I had earlier but finally, I can. I never thought I would say this to you or anyone else for that matter. I LOVE YOU and I can't stand seeing you with someone else."

There he said that. He loves me but his actions speak otherwise. I got rid of his hands in a jolt and turned around. My back facing him.

"You say you love me and then you hug Hailey and say you missed her. On top of that, everyone is so happy that she is back and they are talking about how inseparable you two were when you were children and how can I forget the blondie at the Gala. What was her name? Emily. What explanation do you have for that?"

"Is this the reason you grew distant?" He said. I turn around as I heard his laugh. Is he serious right now? I was raging with anger. I told him the truth and he can't stop laughing.
"What the fuck Shane! You are laughing."

"I am sorry I can't stop laughing. You think Hailey and I are a thing."
He held his stomach and couldn't stop laughing. It made me even angrier. "I am leaving."
I turn around to leave when Shane grabs my hand and turns me around facing him."I can't believe this. You got it all wrong."

I scoffed."Kindly explain because I don't understand a thing."

"You are jealous of them."

"No I am not and even if I am. I don't want anyone to play with my feelings. I have already lost enough." He takes both of my hands and kisses them. He holds my hands in between his as he lets out his feelings.

"What can I say, Skyler? I know you have been through a lot and I hope you can share it with me someday.
I wish I could take away your pain and sorrow but I can only promise that I will never hurt you intentionally. I promise to NEVER LEAVE YOUR SIDE NO MATTER WHAT. I have eyes only for you and you only. Hailey is the daughter of my Aunt Silver and Uncle Austin so you see."

Did I hear it right?

Hailey was his cousin.

I was embarrassed. Hailey was his cousin and I judged him all wrong again. I should have talked about it to him. Shit, I am so stupid. Hailey is his cousin. You are so stupid, Skyler. You created a fuss over nothing. "What about Emily?"

"She is our client's daughter. We did go on a date in high school and that's it. I hate her but she won't back off. I can't bear her for a minute. You can ask anyone." That didn't need to be justified. I saw his facial expressions when he was talking to her.

"I am so so stupid," I complain. I was getting mad at him for going to dinner with his cousin. They were inseparable since childhood because they were related.
"You always act so fast. I don't blame you. I should have told you but promise me you will talk to me before acting over it whatever be it."

"I promise." After this mistake. I am never going to assume things. I will talk with him first and then make the assumptions.

"I couldn't find the courage to confess. Now that I have done it. I will say it again. I LOVE YOU SKYLER." He confesses and I feel a smile curled up on my face. This wasn't a dream right. I had to check. Then I blink my eyes and he was still there.

This wasn't a dream.

"I LOVE YOU TOO SHANE. I was waiting for you to say. I was scared that you don't feel the same."

"I can't believe my ears. Can you say it again?" His eyes glowed like a light bulb when I let out my feelings. I said smiling. "I love you, Shane."

"This is the best thing that happened to me today." He exclaimed in joy.
"Kiss me."

He was taken aback as he takes a step backward."Wait what."

"I don't think you need to be told twice." I was blushing hard. Why wouldn't I be? The man I love just confessed his feelings for me.

"I have been waiting too long for this moment." I tiptoed to him as he leaned in and then our lips met. It was the most magical moment.

It was everything I imagined my first kiss to be. I had always thought about how it must be to kiss Shane. It was a thousand times better than the dream I had.

My heartbeat was so fast that it would come out of my chest now. It's because all of this happening for real. Shane loves me back. This isn't a dream. I was at the top of the world. We here, at the lakeside under the starry sky with the moonlight reflecting in the waters.

It was perfect but...

then it reminded me of the truth. I didn't want secrets between us. I had to tell him. He still didn't know and there was no way I can hide it. So I pulled back."Shane, before everything I want to talk to you about something."
