Baxter (5)

McCoy was vicious in battle with the master of arms, who was taken to the hospital to be looked at; he knew the best way with Anthony was down, dirty, and out. That gives him time to recover, but we had to be careful and time it right so that he was fighting the Beta fresh and rested tomorrow.

I shouldn't worry. McCoy was not only a great fighter, but he was also brilliant. He walked up to the master of education next, who didn't take his hand and showed her neck. He took her position, and Anthony was back as our master of arms. McCoy challenged the master of the hunt next, who apprehensively accepted his challenge. I have seen that Heath was a good hunter but not a match for McCoy.

McCoy was toying with Heath, drawing out this fight. Andrew was screaming at Heath to make a move, misreading the situation, saying that McCoy was tired. Andrew called about all the weaknesses he saw for Heath to use, which weren't real. After an hour of playing around, McCoy looked at his brother. The young boy glanced at his watch and shouted,

"It's one o'clock." Out of nowhere, McCoy moved with nothing like the lazy pace he was using and jumped on Heath's back. Surprised and skilled, he flipped Heath onto his back and grabbed his neck. His teeth broke the skin as Heath looked for a way out, but ultimately, he submitted to McCoy. Andrew knew where this was going. If he wanted to be a master hunter or tracker, he would have gone to one of those fields. Still, McCoy was a warrior through and through, so the only real challenge standing between him and McCoy was Max. The master tracker was fast and had stamina, but McCoy took him down with sheer force. Once he got close enough to catch him, it was over. so at sunset, we all gathered up to watch the final challenge of the day. Our current master of maintenance and our gamma fight it out.

Before the fight started, I saw Andrew talking to McCoy, pointing at Max and smiling. Who knows what he was thinking, but if yesterday was anything to go by, we might be burying a body today, especially if McCoy gets his way. McCoy made his way over to Max and me.

"Are you okay?" Max asked

"I just want him dead," McCoy responded

"what was he saying to you," I asked "he was giving me pointers on how to tear the F---- apart. I wanted to kill him right then and there." McCoy lets off a shaky breath as Darrel walks up. He kisses Max. McCoy takes a deep breath and his heart rate spikes. When he looks at me, I see his wolf's eyes.

"McCoy, calm down," I say. He nods his head and takes another breath before wandering off.

"What was that about?" Max asked

"he almost lost control of his wolf for a second," I say

"It must be nerves. I know I am always jittery before a fight, and he is also probably tired because of all the fights today," Max reasoned, but something about his reaction bothered me.

"Darrel, where have you been? I was going to hang out with you before my fight?" Max asked.

"I know, baby and I should have been with you, but Roe was talking to me about a student. I think she may have found a rouge at our school. I'll look into it after all this is over. Still, I knew I should get all the information before this girl slips through the cracks or causes trouble." Darrel hugs Max as he says all this, and I nod. A young girl by herself is typically not a big deal, but I am glad he is looking into it.

"Alright, time to fight." Max walks into the circle to face off with McCoy.
