The Flashback Kiss and the Breaking Point

"Would you look who finally decided to get up? Mr. Ladies-Man-Ambrose."

Dean cringed as he closed the door softly behind him. He looked up to meet Seth's smirk.

"You know, I'm waiting for the day that Roman kicks your ass." Seth said with a small laugh. Dean rolled his eyes as he walked past him.

"What a great friend you are, Seth." Dean muttered.

Seth raised his hands up in surrender, "I'm just saying. I don't think Roman really will like the idea of his pregnant girlfriend sleeping in the same bed as you."

Dean sent him a look, "I've told you already. They are having issues and she has absolutely no one to talk to, so I'm sorry that I volunteered to be her friend."

Dean hated that Seth has been making it seem like Leslie and himself have been going behind Roman's back. There was nothing going on and Dean needed Seth to understand that. They both needed someone to talk to, and they were probably the only two that understood each other fully. Dean knew that he was stupid for almost kissing her, but that was a mistake -- a mistake that won't ever happen again.

"You know that Roman will take one look at your 'friendship' with her and he'll flip shit." Seth said, "He's too possessive over her."

Dean rolled his eyes, "Well, I don't care what Roman thinks about our friendship. He should be thankful that I am helping Leslie through all of this. It's his fault that she needs someone because he isn't around like at all."

"You know that he's busy." Seth said.

"Don't defend him. We both know that he's running around doing interviews and everything five days a week." Dean sighed, "I'm not going to argue with you on this, but I'm just saying that he has two free days a week and he can't even come and check up on his pregnant girlfriend."

"Look, last night, she was freaking out. She had a nightmare, but after she calmed down from that, she asked for Roman." Dean added, "She asked why he wasn't around and then she cried some more. Look, it's obvious that she wasn't meant for this, she doesn't like not having Roman by her side. Roman dragged her into this and he can't even have the decency to let her leave him. This isn't what she wanted, so you know what, I'm sorry that I'm trying to help her through this."

"Dean-"

"And you know, this isn't just about her." Dean said, cutting Seth off, "She's helping me too. I have someone to talk to, someone who actually understands what it's like to wake up and find out that the person you care about has basically lost all memories of the past six months. We both need this and if he can't accept that then that's his problem."

Seth suddenly started laughing, "I was kidding man, there's no need for your long defensive rant. I honestly think that it's good that you both have each other, but that doesn't mean Roman will stop himself from kicking your ass."

Dean rolled his eyes, "I won't get defensive as long as you understand that Les and I are just friends."

Dean's eyes immediately moved to the room door when he heard it open. Riley walked out, muttering to Leslie -- who walked out behind her. Riley sent Dean a small smile before walking over to sit next to Seth.

Leslie sat down next to Dean with a sigh.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked. He was concerned, but he needed something to get the images of Seth and Riley out of his head. He didn't understand how even after last night, Riley would still have more trust in Seth.

He didn't understand that one night wasn't going to change anything. Trust took time to gain, and he didn't like that it would take so long.

"Fine, just really tired." Leslie muttered. Dean looked over at her.

"I'm calling Roman later..." Dean told her. She immediately looked up at him.

"Why?"

"I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but have you looked in the mirror lately?" He asked.

Leslie gave him a look, "Wow, thanks, Dean for being so kind."

Dean rolled his eyes, "I'm being serious, Les. You look extremely pale and it clearly looks like you haven't slept in days. You and me both know that you hardly eat."

"You know that I'm your friend and I'll help you through this, but you need him, Les..." He said, "I know that you hate the thought of talking to him, but last night, you wanted him with you."

Leslie crossed her arms, "He's a dick."

Dean laughed, softly, "I know, but you can't deny that you need him with you. Maybe he can take a couple of days off and spend them with you."

"You know I don't want him to do that." She muttered.

"Why are you so stubborn about it, Les?" He asked, "Honestly, he found out that he got you pregnant and he hasn't taken any responsibility for it. He hasn't been paying attention to what's been going on with you."

Leslie sighed in frustration, "I don't need you pulling him out of his work, Dean. I understand we're friends, but I need you to stay out of this."

"Les..."

"Just drop it, please..." Leslie sighed, "You certainly have bigger things to worry about."

Dean looked over to where Leslie was looking and sighed. Riley was basically curled up under Seth's arm.

"Tell me about it..."

"Okay, so first thing you do is wrap your arm around my head. Make sure you don't have too tight of a hold. Your hand should be right under my left temple. It'll keep you in control of my head to make sure that it's your arm that hits the mat and not my head."

Riley wrapped her arms on Dean's head, making sure to position her hand correctly.

"Now, I'm going to give you a little boost so your feet hit the top rope. Make sure your feet bounce off the top rope." Dean held onto Riley's waist, "Flip your body and make sure you land so that my head is face down."

Riley sighed shakily as she felt Dean's small push on her waist.

"Don't be nervous or you're going to mess up."

"I'm not going to mess up." Riley muttered. Dean rolled his eyes.

"You are if you stop focusing." He told her. Riley sighed as she looked at the ring rope.

"Jesus, you go from boyfriend to dick trainer in point five seconds." Riley muttered.

Dean squeezed Riley's waist, "What was that, baby?"

"You heard me, jerk." Riley joked.

"Hurry up and do it..we don't have all day." Dean told her sternly. Riley rolled her eyes as she prepared herself for Dean's push.

"Ready, 1...2....3."

Riley's feet bounced off the top rope as soon as Dean pushed her up to it. She was about to twist herself when she felt Dean's grip on her waist loosen. She immediately pulled them down to the mat.

"Fuck..." Dean immediately grabbed the back of his head in pain.

Riley got to her knees immediately to check on Dean. He looked like he had landed badly on his head.

"Are you okay?" Riley breathed, "I know I messed up, but I wasn't expecting you to let go of me when I was in midair. I would've so perfected it, but I guess you were right...I wasn't focused on what-"

Dean cut Riley off by laughing. Riley frowned as she stared at her boyfriend.

"Why are you laughing?" Riley asked.

"Do you really think that I didn't know what I was doing?" He asked while laughing. Riley sent him a look, "I'm not stupid, baby, but that's what you get for calling me a dick trainer."

Riley slapped his shoulder, "You asshole, I thought you were seriously hurt."

Dean pulled her down to lay down on the ring floor with him.

"Stop, we have to train.." She told him, softly, "My match with Paige is tomorrow."

"Lay with me for a little then we'll train." He said. Riley sighed, giving up. She laid her head on Dean's chest.

They laid there for a good few minutes in silence. They each just enjoyed each other's company, Dean more than Riley. The countdown to breaking Riley's heart has finally hit days. He wasn't ready for it, but he was preparing himself as much as he could.

"I leave in a couple of days." She muttered.

Dean sighed as he ran a hand through her hair, "I know, you'll be back at developmental and I'll still be on the road."

"Maybe I could stay a few more days...I don't start back at developmental until the sixteenth." Riley said. She wanted to stay with Dean. She knew that it would only be a couple of extra days, but she knew that it would be worth it. Any extra time with Dean would make her happy.

Dean immediately cringed when the sentence slipped out of her mouth. He was extremely lucky that she had not noticed when he cringed. He knew that Riley wouldn't want to spend any more time with him after what is about to go down in four days. She wasn't ever going to talk to him again. If only Riley knew what was coming her way.

"We just got to make it last." He muttered. Riley looked up at him with a smile. She was lucky that she got paired with Dean for this entire thing. She wonders how different everything would have been if she didn't get paired with Dean. She didn't even want to think about it though, she thought that getting paired with Dean was one of the best things that ever happened to her.

"I'm lucky I got stuck with you.."

Dean laughed, "You make it seem like we've only had good times."

"That's all that matters to me..." Riley muttered as she leaned up to his lips. Dean immediately leaned his head down and attached their lips. Dean rolled so that she was on her back and he was hovering over her. Her hands got caught in Dean's untamable hair, trying to pull him closer to her.

"You're in a damn gym, calm your dick!"

Dean pulled away from Riley with a small laugh. Riley pushed him away, only causing him to laugh harder.

"Fuck off, Romes!" Dean said, still laughing.

"Jesus, you two are animals."

Riley sighed, sending Dean a look, "Can you please go kick his ass?"

Dean sent her a small smirk, "I thought you'd never ask."

Dean immediately rolled off of Riley and ran towards Roman.

Riley let out a heavy sigh as she held onto the top rope.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked. He could see that she wasn't as into trying the move out as she was in the beginning.

"I'm fine.." Riley muttered, "Just a really weird flashback."

Dean let go of her, letting her have her space. He was obviously hoping that she had a flashback about the two of them, but with the way that she is reacting, he wasn't so sure. It was obvious that Riley was confused and freaked out about the flashback.

"What was it about?" Dean asked. He knew that she hated when people tried to bother her about the flashbacks. She hated when people would ask about them. She wanted to put everything together on her own, even though it was obvious that no one would help her. She didn't want to open up to someone who wouldn't tell her anything.

She sent him a small look, "You know I hate talking about it..."

"Ri-"

She was getting annoyed. She didn't know if it was because she was so freaked out about the flashback or if it was because Dean was asking her about it.

"Please, Dean, I know we used to be close, but I will not force myself to open up to you. You can try to ask nicely or you can try to be forceful, but that won't make a difference." Riley said, annoyed, "We may have been close in the past, but we aren't close now and that's what matters. I don't trust you and I need you to understand that."

Dean leaned against the ropes as he stared at Riley. He obviously didn't expect Riley to be telling him all of this. It was hurting him. He had obviously thought about all to things that she was telling him, but it was different when he was actually hearing it from her.

Dean was trying his hardest to stop himself from snapping. It had been a long time since he had actually argued, gotten so mad and upset with someone. It's not that Dean was upset with Riley...he was upset because she trusted Seth. He wanted to keep his mouth shut, in order to stop himself from pushing her further away. He didn't want to push her more towards to Seth, but he didn't know how to stop himself from doing that.

Dean opened his mouth before he could stop himself, "So you trust Seth, right?" Riley opened her mouth to argue, but Dean continued, "You trust Seth enough to tell him about all your damn flashbacks and to open up about all the shit that you've been through."

"It's different with Seth...he makes me feel like I haven't missed anything these past six months." She argued. She was getting pissed off, but she was nowhere near as pissed off as Dean was.

Dean chuckled, dryly as he put his hands on his hips, "God, this is fucking hilarious." He looked up at the ceiling, "You would be attached to Seth. It's pretty fucking funny because you used to have a thing with him."

Dean didn't even realize that he had slipped out something that he shouldn't have.

"Things haven't changed since then, the only thing different is that you have no clue what's going on." He added, "Seth this, Seth that. Like honestly, I have tried so fucking hard to try and help you, to try and connect with you, but you don't give a fuck, do you? You don't care that I've been losing my fucking mind while trying to get you to trust me again. I have messed up so much in these past two weeks because I am too focused on you to realize what I'm doing."

"That's not my fault." She told him, raising her voice.

Dean sighed in frustration as he pulled at his hair. He had reached his breaking point and he didn't know if he could stop himself from snapping at her. He had revealed a memory, and he didn't even feel bad about it. He didn't feel like a dick for tell her off. He was finally able to let his anger out. He had been holding in his anger for so long, that it finally felt good to snap.

"You're right...it isn't your fault." Dean said as he paced around the ring, "It's mine. It's my fault, for deciding to stick around to help you with your memories. I didn't realize what I had signed up for when I decided to stay by yourself, when I volunteered to retrain you. I thought that this would be different. I thought that I would someone gain your trust and you would end up remembering everything that happened these past six months."

Dean pulled at his hair, roughly, "I didn't fucking realize how damn pointless this would be."

Riley just stared at him, not knowing what to say. Suddenly Dean let out a sigh.

"You know what, you have so much damn trust in Seth..why don't you ask him to train you?" He asked, stopping his pacing. He looked up to meet her eyes, "I'm so done with this stupid bullshit."

Riley didn't know why, but she felt a pain in her heart. It was as if he had ripped off a piece of her heart. She was hurt by his words and she didn't know why. She didn't even pick up on the fact that he had told her a memory about the past six months.

Riley watched as Dean rolled out of the ring and picked up his sweetshirt. He immediately pulled it on, covering his bare upper body. He walked to the exit, looking extremely tense and pissed off.

She had never seen him like this. She wished that she would never have to see him like that. She may have not remembered the past six months, but she knew that an angry Dean was not someone that you wanted to mess with...and boy, was she right.

"I need a damn cigarette!"
