Tearful farewells (districts 7-12)

District 7

Raph paced around the room, trying to get rid of all the nervous energy that has filled him. He needs to release it, he needs to get rid of it... He needs to punch something, throw something even. And he was just about to do one of those things if someone hadn't walked in- redirecting his attention

"Alex."

He turned around to see the raccoon mutant standing there, red eyed gaze fixated on him, her two tails continuously moving behind her.

"That's my name." She explained, "Alex."

"I already know your name." Said Raph curtly, his arms crossed, "you don't need to remind me, sweetheart."

She shrugged her shoulder slightly, "i was just telling you encase you forgot."

"Well I'm Raphael, you can call me Raph though. I don't care."

"I already know your name."

He huffed, "good. Don't wear it out."

Silence wrapped itself around the two like a snake, nearly suffocating them with the lack of distractions as various of emotions were running wild. Emotions such as fear, frustration and annoyance plagued the free space, being in full control of Alex's and Raph's thoughts. One of them might have done something drastic if the other hadn't spoke.

"So... did any family say goodbye to you? Any friends?"

"What is it to you?" Said Raph a little bit too aggressively due to the tension.

Again Alex shrugged, not having much to say, "I don't know... conversation starter?"

"A pretty bad conversation starter then, isn't it?"

"Uh... sorry?"

Raph sighed, letting the silence resume it's slight control before he spoke again. Deciding to appease the girl.

"No, no one. What about you?"

"My siblings and Mother." She replied, a look of forlorn briefly taking over her features.

"No Dad?"

"He got killed."

"Oh." Said Raph uncomfortably, shifting his weight, "I'm sorry."

She shrugged again, "it's not your fault."

It's the capitol's, she added in her head.

District 8

"Kat!" The girl that was called turned around, seeing her sister just as she tackled her into a hug. Smiling sadly, Kat wrapped her arms around her little sister, deciding that she would forget about her "no hugging" rule.

"Hey Nira." Murmured the cat mutant.

"You can't leave! You can't leave me!" Yelled out the girl, evidently angry about the current situation, "I won't let you!"

"Well maybe if someone had volunteered I wouldn't be." Replied Kat in a rather bitter tone, but she instantly regret what she said. No one, no one at all deserves the fate that she now has. She let out a soft sigh, "look... I'll come back home, right back to you. Okay? I won't leave you alone."

"Good."

Sadly for dear Yami Kimoto she had no one to say goodbye to her, no one to tell her that they want her to come home, no one to wish her well. She didn't really care for it though for she was used to it. She was used to being alone, she was used to feeling neglected.

District 9

As soon as Casey's sister and Dad left, April marched right up to him. Anger and sadness in her eyes.

"Why Casey?" She whispered, her blue eyes growing misty thanks to tears, "why did you do that?"

"To keep you safe Red." Answered Casey with a slight smile on his face, he didn't want her to feel so beat up about it, he didn't want her to feel sad. That was the last thing he wanted to do to her. But just the thought of her... In those games... Casey would never forgive himself if she got killed.

He wrapped his arms around her, giving her the chance to bury her face in his chest as the tears began to slide down her face. He stood there, taking in this moment, taking the time to appreciate the strawberry scent that came from April's hair, taking the time to remember the way he was holding her and how she seemed to fit perfectly into his embrace.

Casey felt tears pricking his eyes, demanding to be released. In response he closed them, knowing that he had to keep it all together for April's sake.

Meanwhile in the other room Chase had embrace her petite sister who looked absolutely nothing like him. The main reason for that was because she was a brown field mouse. Her tail hung limp as her ears droop, an expression of pure sadness had settled over her face.

"I don't want you to go." She whispered, "I want you to stay here."

"I know." He said gently, rubbing circles in her back, "but I'm going to win for you, okay? I'm going to come right back home, you'll see."

"But who's going to keep the monsters away while you're gone?" She pouted,

Chase smiled, trying to project warmth and reassurance onto his younger sister opposed to the negative feelings swirling in him, "you have dad. He'll fight off those monsters."

"He's not good at it as you are though." She looked down, her eyes downcast.

"Well don't worry too much about it because I'm coming right back home."

District 10

Destiny sat in her room, a rather bored expression on her face as she stared out of the window. She had no one to say goodbye her so she didn't really see the point for why she was sent here. She just wanted to be on that train now, get it all over and done with.

She drummed her fingers against the desk she was sitting at, her mind replaying  every single thing she had faced right until now. She was in the middle of a flashback about a sweet old man who went by the name Murikami when she heard a noise outside. Her shoulders tensed up, as her gaze switched to the door. Her wild green eyes much more alert then they were moments before.

She stood up, slowly making her way over to the door to see what it was that she heard. Her actions though weren't needed as the door was opening to reveal the scarred face of Cyn. The strange girl's eyes looked around the room, as if in search for something.

"Um... Can I help you?" Asked Destiny rather awkwardly.

Cyn just ignored the question, her eyes still scanning the area, "what? No one to say goodbye too? No boyfriend? No girlfriend? No family?"

Frowning slight at Cyn's question, Destiny replied, "no... I'm an orphan and I don't have a boyfriend."

"Oh," small grin formed on Cyn's face, her gaze now on Destiny, "how tragic."

However, despite her saying that she did not looked as if she meant it. She said at it as if it was a general fact.

The frown on Destiny's face deepened even more, her thoughts on the non-mutant were quickly turning negative. But she tried to shake it off. This girl, in a way was the same as her. Their district create rumors about the two and the district also seem to keep their distance from the both of them, not really trusting them it would seem. So trying to ignore her doubts Destiny spoke in order to keep the conversation going.

"What about you?" She queried.

"What about me?"

"Do you have anyone to say goodbye to?"

The grin on Cyn's face widen even more, slight amusement twinkled in her eyes, "interesting," she murmured puzzling Destiny slightly. Destiny got even more puzzled as the girl just left, leaving the door wide open.

District 11

Michelangelo looked around the room, his mouth pulled into a frown to mirror the sadness in his baby blue eyes. He turned his head to look out of the window that was positioned in the room. The azure blue sky could be seen with fluffy clouds trialing along. The clouds' shape was constantly changing, never fixed on a specific form it was for this reason why they grabbed ahold of the turtle's attention. He stared at them, using his wild imagination to shape those clouds into images he wanted them to be.

This wasn't something you would expect from the usual hyper turtle, nor would this be something that you expect from someone that was just picked to fight to the death. But this would be something that you would expect from someone who refuses to confront the dreadfulness of their reality.

Same thing was happening to dear Coral, her black wolf tail that was usually wagging rapidly was still and limp. Her ocean blue eyes were fixated on the floor, somehow finding interest in it as images and thoughts all fought against one another- all of them wanting her attention and all of them wanting to sink her further into her dark mood. This was something she didn't want to believe, this was something she didn't want to think about. But there was no escaping it.

District 12

Synthia watched her father with a look of absolute displeasure on her face. She didn't even know why he was here, it made absolutely no sense whatsoever. She already knew that her presence doesn't effect him in the slightest so the lack of it should still have the same result.

However... A small part of her wished that he would care, just a little bit at least. And she wished that he had gone back to his regular happy and charming self, she even hoped a little bit that her being reaped would evoke some emotion into the adult. But of course that didn't happen, she wasn't surprised though. Only a tiny part of her was disappointed but other then that she didn't care whatsoever.

Leonardo and Splinter didn't have the troublesome relationship that Sythia and her father had. But despite them having a rather healthy relationship- where father and son both loved and cared for one another deeply, there was still some hardships to it. And that could be seen now as Splinter gingerly stroke his son's head, knowing that nothing in the universe could change the events that had happened.

"My son." Spoke Splinter quietly, "Please remember everything I have taught you. Remember to not lose focus during the games."

"Hai Sensei." Murmured Leo.

"Please, stay safe. If not for yourself then for me."
