Peaceful Sleep

Cyn watched as the blonde dingo disappeared off into the distance. She smiled, looking at Kayla's corpse- satisfied with how well her plan went. Some might be confused for why she had let Chris go, but that's because they don't think in the way she does. You see, by implicating Chris in the murder he is now more damaged then he would ever be in the games. And especially since the the victim was quite a close friend then it is for certain he'll never change back to his usual self. That boy, he cares too much for others, he cares too much that he will put his life in danger to protect them- the reapings perfectly captured that for Cyn. So... What would be even more worse then death? Well for the dingo boy it looks as if it was the cause of pain and death for any of those that were close t him, and imagine what a mess he would be after that. Would he even be able to function?

Slowly Cyn walked over to the body, kneeling down as her eyes went over the corpse. She took out both of the daggers- blood clinging onto the blade, appearing to be goo. More blood soon clutched onto them as she stab at the base of Kayla's neck, stab wounds being created. She was at this for a while until she was satisfied, ripping the head clean off. She grinned as she looked at the shocked glazed expression that was still present . Her thumb running along Kayla's cheek, the skin now rather cold.

She grabbed a hold of her bat, throwing the head into the air before hitting it away into the forest- a screech of laughter coming out from her making birds fly.

Sitting on the mountain, his legs dangling the ledge he sat on was Caleb. He looked at the bright night sky, his green eyes reflecting the light of the stars- thoughts passing through his mind. Nine of them left, he noted as the sound of a cannon met his ears.

He was getting close. Closer to winning, he knows it. He could feel it.

Caleb looked behind him, his eyes finding the sleeping form of Serena behind him. He looked back ahead, staring out into the arena, biting his lip in thought.

He didn't want to do what he was about to, Serena has been nothing but kind to him during the whole thing. She trusts him and even defended him when he and careers were having some... Difficulties. He knew they wouldn't have understood his true intentions on killing Shadow if he had said it aloud, they wouldn't have understood that he was trying to protect them in someway.

Shadow didn't trust them, it was obvious. Heck he even saw the mutant attempting to make plans with the cyborg before being turned away. And she didn't trust them, he had to put her down before she could take any of them down.

In a way it was quite simple, with his logic he was killing one in order to save the five of them.

They all misinterpreted it though, believing that he had killed Shadow in cold blood. But really it was in defense.

And now he will have to do it again. To a person that he was beginning to consider a friend.

A soft sigh escaped his lips, pushing himself off the ground as he grabbed the near by spear. He turned around and walked over to his fellow district member, his stomach tying itself into complicated knots the more he thought about what he was going to do.

Damn it, if only she hadn't gotten close to him then he would have found this easier.

Pale green eyes landed on the seeping frame, his hand gripping tightly around the spear as the bright moonlight created a shadow before him. He raised the blade over the body, shutting his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Serena." He whispered, "but only one of us can make it out of here."

And with that he plunged the spear into her, the second cannon that night breaking the silence.
