THIRD-PERSON POV
Philza and Kristen were created to watch over Life and Death, their job was to care for the souls of all creatures but even they had limits. "Resurrection is not in our abilities...", frowned Philza. His voice was laced with disappointment and pain, his daughter frowned before apologizing. The God of Death looked up to see the disappointment on his children's faces. Wilbur was no longer there with them and he knew that was a great pain for both Tommy and (Y/n), but he knew something that they didn't. He was always with them, his soul was still lingering around his siblings even after his wife took him to rest. "It's okay, dear... You asked something that anyone else would be too scared to ask me...", said Phil. Techno placed his cup down onto the table before he looked at his friend, it was impossible to say that there was no way to bring Wil back. The Blood God felt the heavy guilt of Wilburs death on his shoulders, if he had received that blow like Fundy said, Wil would be here... with his family. "Don't take that child's words to heart, old friend... The pain is speaking on his behalf.", said Phil, snapping Techno out of his thoughts. A gentle hand was placed over his and his eyes looked into the pools of (e/c). The Goddess of Hope nodded in agreement to her father's words, Tommy voiced his agreement bringing peace to the Blood God's mind. "I know... Still, I won't rest until Wilbur is here with us...", sighed Techno. His family nodded, none of them would allow Wilbur to stay dead.
"That assassin... He was too good...", frowned Tommy. This caught everyone's attention, Tommy had referred to the assassin as a male but that disturbed each person in the room. "Toms... It couldn't have been a man... They were quite slender...", frowned (Y/n). The Blood God agreed with his wife, the assassin was of a smaller frame than a male. "Are you sure about what you saw, son?", asked Philza. Tommy crossed his arms before his wings appeared, it was a habit of his when he was deep in thought. Everyone waited patiently for the boy, he might have been younger than all of them but there was a good reason why he had become the Captain of the army. He never made a mistake that would lead his family down the wrong path. Techno had noticed that when he saw the child's enthusiasm to learn under his wing, Tommy had a keen eye for things everyone else couldn't see.
"Yes... The person who killed Wilbur was a male... Taller than Techno but leaner... He wouldn't have the ability to fight against Techie... I mean Techno...", frowned Tommy, making his wings disappear. The Blood God smiled at the childish nickname, his wife and his friend were chuckling softly but soon became serious. "That means they're using some kind of cloaking spell against us...", sighed Philza. Tommy stood up before declaring that he would send his familiars all over the country along with (Y/n)'s familiars. "They didn't find the assassin but they managed to get a piece of the cloak.", said the Goddess. Everyone examined the piece of cloth before Techno confirmed that it was wool from Solis. "I'll begin my search there, Your Majesties.", said Tommy, bowing in Techno and (Y/n)'s direction. The Gods both frowned, they mutually didn't want to send Tommy on his own but they knew better than to keep him restrained.
"Find them... Find them and bring them before us, Theseus.", said Techno, his voice was firm but laced with worry for the boy. Tommy lifted his head to look at his sister, he wanted both of their approvals. "As the King has ordered, bring them here... Fall back if the situation becomes dire, Theseus.", said (Y/n). The name Theseus was more than just a name, it was a title given by the King to the boy. Anyone who heard it knew that Technoblade had his trust in the boy's skills and judgment. To Tommy, when he heard both the Queen and King use that title towards him, he knew that both of them were putting all their hopes and trust in him.
With that thought in mind, a grin appeared on the boy's lips, his restraints removed with the approval of the King and Queen of Veri. "As you command.", he said before bowing towards his Father. Philza gave his son a gentle smile before his hand was placed on the boy's head. "Come back home safely, Tommy.", he whispered. The boy was gone as those words left his father's lips, the windows to the balcony allowed the cold winds to enter the room. None of the Gods standing made any attempts to close the windows, instead they all stepped out to look at the horizon. There was still a lot of work to do in the coming months.
News of Wilburs death could not be withheld from the other kingdoms, he was the ambassador of Veri, so his disappearance was definitely noted by everyone. "I'm sorry for your loss...", frowned Sam. He had arrived with Ponk to aid Veri in any way he could. "Thank you... Our Captain has informed us of new information that I would like to confirm with you, Sam...", said (Y/n). The once cheery and bright Queen was now quieter and stern, Sam felt an overwhelming concern for his friend. He couldn't blame her for it had only been a month since she had just lost her younger brother. The King of Valtameri knew that Wilbur had been her confidant and closest relative next to Tommy. "Please, sit down... This will be a lot of information to process...", frowned (Y/n). Sam nodded before taking a seat in front of her, Ponk had gone to greet the rest of the Royal family so it would be a long talk.
Once (Y/n) finished talking, Sam was holding his head. He couldn't believe any of it, Tommy must have done something wrong that would lead him to Dream as the main culprit of the assassination. "My Brother didn't kill Wilbur... I know he lost control during the tournament but he didn't kill your brother!", exclaimed Sam, he stood up briskly. This action made Mark who had been standing quietly there, draw a stance. "Stand down...", whispered (Y/n), she was calm even though Sam looked ready to destroy the room. The Queen focused on Sam once her butler resumed his initial stance. "Tell me then... Why has he disappeared from Triox since Wilburs death?", she asked. Sam stood there shocked, no one knew about Dreams disappearance except for George, Sapnap, and him. "I-I...", Sam sighed before looking at his friend, "We don't know... I want to believe in my brother's innocence but I'm not sure anymore...", he whispered, his voice was cracking. The Queen of Veri nodded before offering him a soft smile, she reassured him that everything would clear up and offered him a room. "I appreciate your hospitality but my husband and I will go home... I think it's time I inform my mother of all this mess Dream has caused.", frowned Sam. (Y/n) understood, she could hear no deceit in her friend's words so she allowed him to leave.
The King and Queen of Veri watched as the carriage left off to the horizon before Techno spoke. "Are you sure Sam isn't lying?", he frowned. The Goddess of Hope smiled softly before taking his hand, she wasn't sure if Sam was really lying but she had faith that her friend would do the right thing. "I'm sure... Let's go visit Wilbur... We need to fix his room again.", she said. Veri had changed since the loss of their Ambassador but the people remained strong and loyal to their King and Queen, for they were their source of light and strength. As long as the Royal family stood strong, the people of Veri believed that everything would be alright. Yet darkness loomed over the country and no one could predict the events that would begin to unfold.
Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Valtameri
The sparks that flew around the room illuminated the white mask that Sam had grown up with. It was someone he considered more than a childhood friend, Dream was his little brother just like Tommy and Wilbur were (Y/n)'s siblings. They had grown up together, he had been there when Dream was born. Sam couldn't understand why his brother was attacking him but he did know one thing, Tommy might have been correct after all.
When they had arrived it was around nightfall, Sam had told Ponk to rest while he talked to his mother. Unfortunately for Sam, his mother, Puffy, had gone to see her lover in Solis about some issues and wouldn't return until a week's time. Sam had decided to send one of his people to Solis to advise his mother of the threat Dream was becoming when the doors to his office closed shut. Before he could break the doors open, Dream had appeared from within the shadows and attacked him, bringing them to the unfolding events.
"Why are you doing this?!", growled Sam, pushing his brother away. Dream removed his mask and made it disappear; the guards of the kingdom tried to break it down the door as they heard their king in distress, yet it would only throw them back. "It's quite simple, Sam... I need you to do me a favor.", smiled Dream, his eyes glowed in the darkness. The King remained silent as he heard his brother say that. Dream, on the other hand, took this as an opportunity to speak. "As far as my knowledge goes, you and that... woman named (Y/n) are quite close, correct?", hummed Dream. Sam remained quiet, he didn't want to answer his brother at all. In his mind, it was no concern of Dreams to know the closeness he had with his friends. "Sammy, I want you to kill the Goddess of Hope for me... Along with the Crown Prince...", smiled his brother.
Sam felt a cold sensation grip his heart as those words left his brothers mouth. The King could never bring harm to (Y/n) or her child, the simple thought made his insides turn. "You're speaking treason, Brother... We are allies with Veri, bringing harm to the Queen or any member of their Royal family is punished by beheading...", growled Sam. Dream looked at Sam before laughing, he was wheezing when he finished. "That's too funny... Anyways, you can leave their bodies there... I want Technoblade to find them... The suffering he's going to go through is enough to make me smile.", grinned Dream. Sam gritted his teeth, his brother had gone mad after the tournament after all. The King knew that he had to stop him before Dream did something regrettable.
"I told you already... I won't do that... I don't know what happened to you but reconsider this madness, Brother...", frowned Sam. The man in the green cape laughed; his laughter caused the King to freeze. It was demonic and full of darkness, it wasn't the laugh he remembered belonging to Dream. "Oh, Sammy... How naive can you be? We are NOT brothers... My mother coddled you as a child and made you believe you were family but you were NEVER family to me!", shouted Dream, his eyes burned with hatred as he looked at the King. Sam's throat went dry as he heard Dream confess this; he always looked at his Goddess's son as his own brother. Sam was feeling unbearable pain from the words Dream had spoken. "I despise you for taking so much of Mum's love... I thought you would support me like you did when we were young...", whispered Dream, lowering his sword. His words were filled with hurt, Sam lowered his sword as well. Dream had suffered something during the tournament and the fact that he finally spoke openly made Sam believe this was out of attention, a cry for help.
"Dream... I'm willing to help you with anything except taking the life of another... Mother raised us differently, she made sure to always shower you in love... So why do you feel this way towards me?", whispered Sam, placing both hands on his brother's shoulders. Dream sighed before looking up to meet Sam's gold eyes. "Actually this boy doesn't hate you at all, he loves you as a brother... But how else could I have you lower your guard?", said an ominous voice. Sam felt his insides burn as he looked down to see Dream's sword impaled into his abdomen.
"I hope you understand... I need obedience from this boy so I'll have to kill everything and everyone he loves.", whispered Dream. Sam noticed how his brother's eyes were now completely black; that thing was not Dream and it never would be. Without hesitation Sam gripped his brother's neck, he was enraged and he felt his hands heat up. "Get out of his body now.", growled Sam. Using his other hand, he broke the sword before the imposter could cause more damage. "Bring back my brother!", shouted Sam, his eyes were now red and his body emitted a white glow. Dream was stuck against the wall, he expected this to be easy but the man before him was a descendent of a star, a Fire God.
The window of the room smashed in and Ponk got into a stance. "Sam! Stop!", he cried, concern spread across his face. Sam tried to calm down but he couldn't allow his brother to leave. "Get some cuffs! We need to restrain him.", coughed Sam, blood spraying the carpets. Ponk ran over to his husband and quickly cuffed Dream; he was still in shock to see them in such a situation. "Ponk, is it? What do you mean to my brother?", grinned Dream. The general frowned and prepared for anything; Sam was about to submit his brother when he noticed something. "Ponk! Stand ba-", Sam didn't finish his sentence as a skeleton appeared next to them. He did what anyone else would do and released Dream to protect his husband from the attack. "Sam!!!", exclaimed Ponk as he was hidden into Sams's chest. Dream laughed as he broke the cuffs and looked down at the couple. "Love makes you humans weak... You even lost an arm, Sammy.", smiled Dream. The couple looked at the person before them, they watched how he made the skeleton vanish with the snap of a finger.
"Let's get started with this war..."
Kingdom of Veri
Two months later...
The wound that was caused by the death of Wilbur had slowly healed as the Gods had the hope of bringing him back. The chances were becoming more with the help from Purpled. The kingdom had also felt rejoice at the news of an engagement. The Crown Prince had proposed to his lover which brought some joy to the people as well as their families.
The gifts flooded the halls from their friends, they thanked everyone but still felt bad since Wilbur wasn't there to celebrate with them. "He is happy to hear about your engagement.", smiled Kristen. She had lost her shine but still kept up with her image as to not worry her children. Only Philza knew of her suffering and her nightly visits to see her son, resting in a bed of blue hydrangeas. "I'm glad to hear... I miss him...", confessed Ranboo. The young prince always looked up to Wilbur, when he and Tubbo heard the news of his death, they had hidden the fact of their engagement to everyone until (Y/n) urged them to speak up. "He missed you too, Ranboo. In fact, he can't wait to come back... He hasn't lost hope since dying...", smiled Philza. They all smiled before the King entered with his wife in his arms. She was fast asleep and hidden away within her husband's cape. "Did you two work all day again?", frowned Kristen as she approached the King to see her daughter. The Queen of Veri had engrossed herself with work and methods of bringing her brother back that it was starting to tear her health down. "Yes... She can be quite stubborn...", sighed Techno. Ranboo frowned but before he could say anything, Mark came in with a green envelope. "It's an invitation... From Triox, Your Majesties...", he frowned. The feeling the butler expressed was shared mutually between everyone in the room. Techno quietly thanked Mark before he opened the letter to read its content.
"George wishes to see us so he can lend his help with Dream's capture... I can't allow (Y/n) to go...", frowned the King. Little did he know that no one would allow the Queen to leave in her current state. "Please allow me to go, Father.", said Ranboo, standing up to bow at his Father. Technoblade looked at his son before smiling, Ranboo had really grown over the past years and with him the wisdom and knowledge of all the kingdoms. The King knew that no one was a better candidate to attend in their stead yet he didn't wish to send his son alone to Triox. "I'll go with him.", said a new voice. Everyone turned to see Tommy standing in the doorway with Tubbo. They both smiled before closing the door after them, the King sighed before he smiled.
"Fine... I hereby bestow the Crown Prince and his fiancé permission to travel to Triox on our behalf... As long as they are escorted by the Captain of the army..."
