They follow me wherever I go

Through grass, mud and even snow

They follow me all my life

Through happiness and through strife

They never go away

At my heels every single day

They never stop

Sometimes I wish to drop

weighing me down

Until all I can do Is frown

a heavy burden I carry

making me wary

But I’m not the only one

With this burden that is never fun

every one carries this upon their backs

Here I am just stating facts

The burden of making mistakes

Only one is all it takes

But as I say

We are only human and that is all we will stay

Mistakes are what make me, me

a mistake is  just a key

to the locked door in front of you

that one day you will walk through
