Heal; The Act of Healing or Being Healed

Surely enough, the next day you and Tooru met up with Iwa-chan underneath your tree. You explained to Iwa-chan that every spring— especially in May— you and Tooru always search for May bells because of a promise between you two. The three of you quickly compromised by saying that Iwa-chan would help you and Tooru look while he also simultaneously looked for cool bugs to catch.

About two weeks after you and Tooru's initial meeting with Iwa-chan you decide to show him and Tooru one of the spells you've been working on, Tooru has seen you use it before from when you showed him by using it on a dead leaf a few Autumns ago, but you've progressed a ton more since then, and you can't wait to show them. As you run through the forest on your way to the meeting spot you carry something in your hand; a rather large magic staff made completely out of wood with a curled tip. Tied to tip is a circular yellow trinket that shines golden in the light along with two feathers, one colored stormy blue with a hint of green while the other is colored forest green; It's your mother's old magic staff.

When you arrive at your tree Tooru immediately gets excited when he sees your staff, knowing that you've been practicing that same spell you showed him a while ago and that you're finally gonna show them how much you've improved.

"Uwahh, Iwa-chan Iwa-chan, (y/n)-chan is gonna show us her magic! She's super good at magic!" Yells a starry eyed Tooru as he lightly shakes Iwa-chan back and forth.

You let out a sheepish laugh and a light blush dusts your cheeks, "I-I'm not that good, Tooru-kun is just exaggerating. I am way better at this spell then I was the last time I showed him, though." You grin, excited to show your friends what you can do. "First," you start, "before I can show you guys the the spell, I need to find a spot that has some dead flowers."

"What does the spell even do?" Asks Iwa-chan, his head tilted to the side a little.

"Oh, it's a rejuvenation spell!" You say cheerily.

Tooru grabs Iwa-chan's hand and starts dragging him along. "C'mon Iwa-chan, we need to find a patch of dead flowers for (y/n)-chan to use her spell on!" You laugh and start following them when Iwa-chan nearly trips and falls because of Tooru.

When you three finally find a small patch of withered wild flowers Tooru and Iwa-chan stand at either side of you so they can get a good look while you stand in the middle of them, right in front of the flowers.

Your small hands grip the large staff that's much taller than you and you take a deep breath and close your eyes, muttering out the necessary words to cast the spell. "Bemei tild matem crono ietil davat moh mich byv mono yehk te stigni bek utved." Tooru and Iwa-chan are absolutely mystified as they see the spell go to work right before their very eyes, the once hunched over and shriveled flowers that were drained of all their vibrant colors begin to stand tall as their colors return just as fresh and crisp as they had once been.

Tooru is absolutely enchanted, though he can do his own magic, his chaotic magic can only destroy, it makes sense that earthly magic such as your own— which nurtures and creates— is so magnificent to him. "Woahhhh! You're so amazing, (y/n)! Th-that's— i-it's—"

"Incredible?" Suggests Iwa-chan, just as amazed as Tooru.

"Yeah, that's what I meant! What do those cool words you said mean, anyways?"

"Oh, they're from an old language called Gahtome! The translation is, I ask that time please yield to me, if only for a moment, go back. My mommy said that people in guilds speak it a lot!"

"That's so cool! You gotta teach it to us sometime!" Giddily says Tooru, Iwa-chan quickly nodding his head in agreement.

You giggle in response, "I don't know much, but I can try!"

Tooru and Iwa-chan bend down to look at the flowers closer, "I still can't believe you're so good at this spell now! How long will the flowers stay like that?" Curiously asks Tooru.

"A whole two weeks." You answer, clearly very proud of yourself.

"Woahhh." Say Tooru and Iwa-chan at the same time.

"Have you tried it on animals yet?" Asks Iwa-chan.

"No, it only works on plants." You explain.

"Hey (y/n)," starts Tooru, "since you're so good at magic, and you're also training to be a cleric, do you know a spell to cure sick people?" Asks Tooru.

"No, why do you ask?" You tilt your head to the side.

"It's just that back at the castle my favorite horse is really sick, and I'm worried about her..." Tooru trails off.

"Oh!" An idea pops into your head, "I know that sister Josefina has all kinds of books on being a cleric, she should have one saying which holy passage heals sick people! All we have to do is sneak into her room, find out which passage it is, get Tooru-kun to take us to the castle, and then I can try to heal her!"

"What if we get caught?" Asks Iwa-chan, you just wink at him.

"We won't! And if we somehow do, then the brave knight Iwa-chan will have to save us!" You grin and Iwa-chan smirks.

"Leave it to me." He says with confidence.

With that, the three of you set your plan into motion. Tōru uses the same materialization magic he uses to get to the forest and sends Iwa-chan back to his house to get his wooden sword just in case. Once you're all regrouped Tooru sends the three of you into the church, specifically, sister Josefina's room.

Tooru and Iwa-chan stand guard at the door, Tōru using his magic to sense if anyone is getting too close to the room while Iwa-chan is ready to smash objects with his wooden sword as a distraction if necessary while you scan through several shelves filled to the brim with books.

"Got it!" You whisper as loud as you can once you find the right book. In the blink of an eye Tooru materializes the three of you to the horse stables within the castle walls. You and Iwa-chan immediately notice how Tooru is lightly panting, Iwa-chan frowns and your eyebrows furrow with worry.

"Oi..."

"Tooru..." you and Iwa-chan both speak at the same time. Tooru just waves his hands dismissively.

"Don't worry guys, I'm fine!" assures Tooru, giving you and Iwa-chan both a smile that doesn't doesn't sit well in your stomach, you can tell that Iwa-chan knows something is off about Tooru's smile too, but neither if you have time to question it; you have a horse to heal.

Tooru stands guard at the entrance to the horse stables, since he's the prince he'll be able to send away any servants that come to the stables, and if that fails, then Iwa-chan will be ready to knock them out.

Tooru quickly shows you to his horse, she's mostly black; save for the ends of her legs, her mane, and her tail, which are all white. You can already tell something's wrong just with your first look at her; she's sitting— which horses usually don't do. You bend down to her level and gently pet her before opening your holy book in search of the correct passage.

"What's her name?" You ask, Tooru chuckles sheepishly from where he stands.

"Well, I never got around to naming her, I just can't find anything that fits her." You hum in acknowledgement as your eyes land on the passage you need to recite; you hope you can do it on your first attempt.

"He is the holy creator; he heals the—" You only finish muttering out a quarter of the passage when a servant tries to open the door to the stables, your shoulders tense as Tooru uses his body to block as much of the servant's view as possible while he tries to convince the servant to move along, you continue quietly whispering the passage.

"Is there someone else with you, prince Oikawa?" Asks the servant, clearly skeptical.

"What, no! How dare you claim that I'm going against my father's word and bringing someone to the castle, my father will not be happy with you when he hears this!" Warns Tooru, hoping that the servant will fall for it.

"N-no, I-I'm not saying that! Of course you would never break the rules, prince Oikawa! I don't know what I was thinking, I-I'll be on my way now then!" Nervously sutters out the servant.

Tooru and Iwa-chan sigh out in relief once the servant leaves and you relax your tense shoulders, you're nearly finished with the passage. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death or mourning, for he is the lord." And as you finish speaking those final healing words, one hand on the horse's side, a gentle and pure glow wraps itself around the horse, Tooru and Iwa-chan are utterly stunned by the visual in front of them, and you're quite surprised yourself. As quick as that gentle and healing glow comes, it's gone, leaving the horse cured in its wake; the horse stands up completely fine, like nothing ever happened.

You smile, partly proud of yourself for being able to heal her on your first try and partly because the horse is now alright. "I think I know what you could name her, Tooru-kun."

Tooru and Iwa-chan snap out of their baffled states. "What do you have in mind?" Asks Tooru.

"Vyelci. The direct translation is heal, so her name would be taken as healed or healing!" You grin.

"Vyelci." Repeats Tooru, testing out the foreign name on his tongue. "I like it!" Tooru turns to his horse and fixes his posture to be straight and regal in a joking manner, as if he's a king, "I have decided that your new name is now Vyelci!" You and Iwa-chan laugh at his antics.

After a few more minutes Tooru materializes the three of you back to your tree in the forest, not wanting to run the risk of being caught and longer. You three spent the rest of the day playing knights and dragons until Iwa-chan had to eventually go home. Being just you and Tooru now, you two followed your usual schedule of having dinner and letting Tooru into your room through your window once the coast is clear.

That late afternoon you taught Tooru the little amount of Gahtome you know.
