Superiors, I have important news that might benefit the cause of our mission... or endanger it. We thought we picked a neighborhood that nobody would ever move into. We were wrong.

This morning, at approximately 0800 hours, a large vehicle pulled into the driveway of the living space next door. My database immediately identified the vehicle as what the humans call "a moving van". Behind the moving van was another vehicle (my database identified it as a "car").

Out of the car came two adult humans and one human child. The child looked to be about eight years of age, and she held onto the adult female's hand like it was her lifeline. The adults ushered the child into the house, then began to help the adult males in the moving van to pull out their various belongings.   I watched all this with curiosity from my front viewing port.

These humans could be the key to beginning Object Colonize, or they could be its downfall. If they find out what we are doing, the results will be disastrous. Is that a risk we are willing to take?  I will await your word before making contact.

Superiors, I appreciate your advice on dealing with the humans. I've tried to be friendly with them, inviting them in for dinner (not showing them the basement, of course), bringing them baked goods, and talking with them.

They seem to be a very friendly family, except for the child. She seems to know that something is different about me and is constantly making rude faces at me. I will have to keep an eye on her.

But now to the matter that I meant to tell you about. The humans have asked me to watch over their child tomorrow at 1800 hours. I don't know if I should accept or decline. The child might easily expose our operation, but if I disagree, they might suspect something. I will wait for your word before giving them an answer.

Superiors, there is only one hour before the human child comes. You advised me that the friendly thing to do would be to accept the request, but I don't know what to do with her when she comes. What do humans do when they have to watch a child? And most importantly, how do I keep her out of the basement?

Superiors, I highly advise that we abort. The child has found the basement. I repeat, the child has found the basement.

There was no way I could've stopped her. When she came in, I sat her in front of the television, hoping she wouldn't budge. I went to fix her something to eat, and when I came back, she was already heading down the basement stairs.  I chased her down, but it was too late. She had already seen.

I dragged her upstairs and asked her why she had left her spot on the couch. She said simply that she didn't like the show I'd put on for her to watch.  I currently have her tied to a chair in my kitchen. I do not know whether annihilation or memory wipe would be the best way to resolve this situation. I will await your word to see what you think is best.

Superiors, I understand that memory wipe is not always thorough enough. But since she is just a child, the adults are less likely to believe her. Human children have a reputation of having wild imaginations.

If she told her parents what we have in the basement, they would think that she and I had just played a game including that. Human adults are ignorant that way.   Please do not force me to annihilate this innocent child. She has rather grown on me the past few days.   I await your word.
