I apologise first for the possibly triggering (and short) chapter and second for not updating in so long :|

Jack's POV:
The drive back to all our collective houses was as hectic as ever, but everyone was trying to be quiet as Gavin had seemingly passed out in the back of the car, his head on Michael's shoulder. Ryan's house was first and he got out, promising Geoff he'd finish his work that evening and swiftly gathering his bags from the back. I had watched his waving silhouette against the sky, which was tinted peach with the early setting of the sun, before he picked up his bags from the ground and walked into his house.
Michael's place was next, and he picked up the messy lump of feathers that was Gavin and carried him into the apartment, Geoff following with the two's bags. I questioned how he would get an unconscious, fully grown man up two flights of stairs, but then I remembered that Gavin weighed as much as a bag of sugar, and Michael had been hitting the gym lately. Geoff had come out about five minutes later, smiling and commenting on how well Michael was taking care of Gavin.
"He's got no choice, what with you as Gavin's father figure." Ray had quipped from the back, and we had all laughed.
The Puerto Rican was third to get dropped off, hopping out of the car and waving goodbye with one of his ears in a comical way, holding his small case and backpack. As we drove away, I noticed him pulling what looked to be a pair of earbuds out of his pocket, looking at them thoughtfully.
I was quickly left the only one in the car with Geoff. It was rare that we spent time together, just us, and it reminded me of the early Achievement Hunter days. It was a lot quieter back then, even after Michael joined. It was a lot less chaotic- There were still shenanigans and pranks, don't get me wrong, but it was more... Relaxed. Since Ray and Ryan had arrived one by one, the office had got louder, the atmosphere more tightly wound and excited. Michael had gone from being quite quiet (God, the combination of those two words makes my brain hurt) to being as full of energy as a lad after he had become friends with Ray, and Geoff, Ryan, and I were happy to be swept up in the energetic air the two brought. And, when Gavin had first been introduced, I could already see he would be a lad, with his constant positive energy and clumsy, childish nature. And it's not to say I wish for things to be back the way they were, I love all the boys to death, but it's nice to remember the old times, even if just for a moment.
"Hey, buddy, whatcha thinkin' about?" Geoff glanced over at me before returning his attention to the road ahead.
"Well, the fact that it's just us two; it reminded me of back when it was just us in Achievement Hunter."
"Ah, yeah, those were the good old days. Back before I hired those idiots." He chuckled, flicking the right indicator and turning, the monotonous clicking sounding throughout the momentarily silent car.
"Hey, what do you say to a night out sometime, without the lads? We could go ourselves, or Ryan could come too."
"I am definitely up for that, sounds good." He answered, smiling at me fondly before looking at the road again. I smiled. We were silent for a while. A comfortable silence, only just filled by the sound of the quiet radio that I hadn't even noticed was on until now. I looked out of the front window, admiring the colourful sunset spread out in front of us, and how it reflected, slightly darker, in the black lenses of Geoff's green framed sunglasses. That summer day coming to an end was like many, many others I had experienced before, but sitting with Geoff in the front of his car, thinking about when Achievement Hunter just started, how far we'd come, I didn't want it to end. The whole scene was incredibly nostalgic: A beautiful Austin sunset, the air still warm around us but a small breeze flowing through the half-open window. Geoff, the same as he always had been, a grey shirt, his arms hidden under tattoo sleeves, those old green sunglasses resting on top of his dark hair, looking almost light brown in the orange light, bright, happy blue eyes creased a little around the edges with age. I couldn't help but tear up as I smiled, looking away into where my hands were folded in my lap. I discreetly wiped my eyes with a curled finger and sighed.
"I know." Geoff said quietly, stopping the car. I looked over to see him sporting an expression identical to how I felt, amazingly happy, but his eyes shining nonetheless. "We've come a long way, haven't we?" He gave a smile, his eyebrows turning up sadly. I nodded slowly.
"I couldn't be happier, Geoff. I'm so proud of all of us." My voice came out less steady than I expected it to, and I coughed. Geoff hummed, leaning with his elbows on the steering wheel.
"To be able to do what I love for a living, and to get to go to work with the best people on the planet, that I'm lucky enough to call friends... It's an absolute joy."
"Yeah." I breathed, smiling at him. He smiled back, leaning over and wrapping an arm around my shoulders. I took a deep breath and we watched the sky turn purple as the sun 'went off to bother Australia', as we would always say.
"What'll happen, Geoff?"
"What?"
"In the future... W-What'll we do when we don't make videos anymore?" My voice wavered again and I cursed myself for it. "I don't want to leave you guys." Geoff sighed and paused for several minutes, before sighing again.
"I honestly don't know, bud. I don't really like to think about it. I mean, inevitably we'll stop making videos, if not for any other reason then because the oldest of us will get too old. I mean, by the time Michael's forty, I'll be nearly twice that."
I nodded.
"Eventually, no matter how much all of us, all of our fans, too, don't want it to, Rooster Teeth will come to an end. It can't go on forever, right?"
"But the years I've spent with you, and Michael, Ray, Ryan, and even the few days with Gavin, not to mention the other guys, Burnie and Gus, have been the best of my life. I-I don't want that to ever end."
"I know, bud. I'm sorry."
