Songfic Series 4: The Tailorshop on Enbizaka Street
On the corner of Enbizaka street,
lives a young woman who owns a tailor shop
You don't have a single memory of your life or your childhood. All you can think of is your mother who passed down a single pair of scissors to you.
There is only one thing that makes her worry,
it is the constant betrayal of the man she loves
Prince Maven strolls around the town, frequently talking to you about your work. Something about him allures you, you feel connected to him. As if you've known him from somewhere...
But I must continue on with my work,
I clutch my scissors with one hand
You work with the mind full of Maven. Your fingers danced around the cloth's fabric as you create. He'll love it, of course, he will. He'll love it as much as he loves you.
The sharper they are, the easier they cut
~
Today is simply normal, nothing has changed.
But then I saw my lover standing in the street
Who on earth is that creature standing next to him?
You look out your shop's window, seeing Maven standing next to a girl with silver hair. Her dress is so full of itself, made out of complete metal.
I couldn't stand to see them together
So I ran away, it was too much for me
You grasp your scissors with an iron grip, shaking as you turn away. Nothing to think about, it's probably nothing. Probably. Her metal dress, so beautiful, so unique.
But I must continue on with my work.
I clutch my scissors in one hand
Tears fall down your face as you grab every pair of scissors from your workshops, sewing them into the previous dress you were working on.
No one hears my quiet sobs
You decide to go out against your tear-stained face. You need to get out of your horrible environment. You open the door to your shop, the wind blowing in your face. It's so beautiful outside.
You walk outside, nobody in your view as you stroll down the streets. Then you see it, the dress you longed for. The beautiful silver-haired girl walks by herself long in front of you. Your heartbeat quickens. You look around, nobody else is here.
You know what you have to do.
She put up a fight.
~
Something has changed in the atmosphere
It must be due to that crime that happened yesterday
The townspeople seem to be in a hurry to get somewhere. It's odd. Maybe it has something to do with the murder that happened yesterday. Poor girl, she was so beautiful. Whoever committed it should pay.
You get a glimpse outside of your window again, seeing Maven across the street
Who on earth is that creature standing next to him?
He's talking with a tall blonde girl, she looks like a warrior. Disgusting.
He seemed to be terribly upset
What a pretty thing, she had a red sash belt around her waist. When you squint you can see the designs of suns on it. Beautiful, so unique.
So, that's the sort of thing that you like on women?
You back away from the window, your eyes scanning your workshop. Red. That must be easy to make, easy...
But I must continue on with my work
I clutch my scissors in one hand
I make sure no tears stain the fabric
The beautiful sun pattern is easy to recreate. That girl is still outside by the time you finish. She moves around with a group of people, bleeding into the night. She looks in your window, making eye contact with you. You freeze.
When she starts walking over to you, you know what to do. You clutch your scissors with an iron grip.
~
Fear has spread around the town like wildfire,
It looks like another crime has been committed
The warrior was found in the woods, blood drained. You were apart of the crowd when the townspeople found her body. Horrible thing, you wept. Whoever did that must pay.
I saw my lover in the hairpin shop
Who on earth is that creature standing next to him?
He had a redhead by his side, a young girl it looks. You growl. He has a red hairpin in his hand, he seems to be talking to her with sadness in his voice. You couldn't hear a word he said.
My god... But she's so young!
Doesn't he have any sort of decency left in him?
You turn around and immediately start looking around. The red fabric is missing, you don't have anymore.
But I must continue on with my work
I clutch my scissors with one hand
My scissors... have they always been this color?
But they're so blunt! I must sharpen them once more.
A knock on your door catches you off guard from your work. You turn to face the door, slowly opening it.
A young redhead girl you immediately recognize is there. The red hairpin Maven gave her is still in her hair.
"Yes?" You ask quietly.
"I am a sewer, like you, I just wanted to come and see if you could help me improve!" She asks. You blink, opening the door wider for her to step in.
"Of course I'll help you." You say nicely. Is she really this easy? She is a young girl but still... You clench your scissors with an iron grip as she steps in. Easy.
~
Ah, it's finally completed!
It looks so wonderful
You put on your Maven-specific clothes you collected. So beautiful, of course he'll love you.
I'll come find you myself
To show you my work.
Your hand-made scissor-decorated dress.
Your hand-made red sash belt with a sun pattern.
The red hairpin you stole from the head of the redhead.
I've become the perfect woman
~
When Maven saw you late at night wearing all of that he looked shocked, his hands started shaking. You smiled.
"Well, what do you think? Aren't I beautiful?"
~
When Maven told Elara about what happened you were by his side, kissing his cheek and loving him. Elara was furious.
The thing you told him, "I was already broken long ago," couldn't have been truer. When Maven said he didn't know a bit of your personality, he didn't know what he was getting into. You were insane.
At first, Elara thought it was because she kept messing with your mind. But now she sees it wasn't her doing, it was fully you.
Instead of throwing you out, Elara decided to keep you in the solitary rooms where you could do no more harm, and Maven could have you forever.
