Author's POV

The kids digest the event after Rasika brought a first aid kit and attended to Amarpal's wounds as the Malhotras gushed with Akshita about her skills. Akshita had removed the glass shreds from the soles of her feet.

Anumita opened the door and her eyes fell on the broken glass, then on the destructive sibling.

"Yen idu Akshita?!" (What is this Akshita?)

"Level 3 horata." (Level 3 fight) Anumita shakes her head, "Akshita, Ekansh beta tum yaha rehna, baki sab logonko bahar bulaya hai." she leaves without a word, as Ekansh internally thanks god and doesn't ask further.

Akshita sighs as they leave, her brain clouded by the pain of processing anything. She had learned how to control her pain thanks to her parents. But it didn't mean that she didn't feel it, she felt it, just the same, but she was used to suppressing it to the point where she didn't feel anything.

Ekansh moved beside her, she looked over at him, and their eyes gripped each other.

Akshita's POV

He stared into my eyes, his gaze intense yet gentle, curious yet respectful.

I could feel him boring into my eyes, digging for what was buried deep down. My eyes twitch at the intensity when his face itched a millimeter closer, his eyes scavenging, scarping on the wounds that were forcibly healed.

Ekansh's POV

'Oh my fucking god, kill me now.'

Her eyes are magnificent, there were no words that could describe the rays of yellow in her eyes reaching out to the thin blue lining that encircled the ends of her forest green iris.

At this point, I am ready to kidnap her if she doesn't agree to my proposal.

She straightened her back, and her shoulders, lifting her chin a little, being a little more dominant.

Shit, shit, shit Ekansh! SHIT!

Did you just act like a pervert and stare at her to the point where she was physically uncomfortable, my god!

Akshita's POV

As soon as I straightened my back, I saw hints of panic in his eyes, which made a smile play on my lips as my right eyebrow arched.

He too smiled, as his eyes narrowed, for 10 seconds, we stared at each other, teasingly. Soon the apparent eye contact turns into a stare-off as I dig into his eyes, scraping his wounds as I see him slip up...

Ekansh's POV

I believe she understood my internal panic monologue as she arched her eyebrow, a beautiful teasing smile gracing her lips. A teasing smile takes over my lips as I narrow my eyes.

I don't know what is going on, but I do not, in any way, want this to end. After a minute, she starts staring at me intensely. [It wasn't a minute, like 10 seconds or so but he feels it's a minute lol 😂]

I feel her eyes dig into me, my being, my past.

I let out a wavy breath as her eyes narrowed, her face leaning closer, her intense gaze boring into me, almost piercing me. As I let it, letting down my walls.

"Your eyes..." she says, barely above a whisper, "They are like a theatre stage...The red blood soken curtain, that mask, that lense in your eyes covers your past..." she said the last sentence louder as I felt as if she had found the lock to my heart.

"You play the king, the dutiful son, the supporting friend, the cunning businessman, the warrior, the... the servant even... But... in the end... it's all a play... a play in front of the curtains... a written, scripted drama for the entertainment of the clueless audience in front of you ..."

She was right.

I felt exposed as my head leaned back, her eyes itching closer, "But behind those blood red curtains... behind them... It's the real you..."

I felt her scrape the wounds of my past, harshly.

I let out a shuddered breath, as I blinked, looking away. I could feel her gaze on me, but I didn't dare look back at her.

Akshita's POV

"Isn't it?" I asked. He blinked looking away.

I looked at him again and I saw something I didn't see in anybody else.

A reflection of me.

Authors POV

Akshita too looked away, confused at what took over her. Her head felt light, she felt her head sway back as the monsters of the past greeted her again.

She felt the rough rope against her wrists and ankles, the vibrations of her muffled screams and his loud, helpless screech for help... The fire on her skin...

"Akshita?" a faint voice brought her out of her daze, she felt a muscular arm lay her down gently.

She was tired from the morning and these unexpected events took a toll on her.

"Hey, hey, Akshita... Are you okay? Do I need to call-" the voice asked, concerningly. "No no no, just give me that box..." she said, her head spinning, "I got it, I got it."

Ekansh took the box, placed a pillow below her head, and started cleaning the wound on her forehead. Akshita clicked her tongue, accepting his help, and pointed to her knee, "Fix my knee, I want to be able to walk..."

She mentally cursed Amarpal, that bastard had punched her too harshly in the head.

Ekansh's POV

The yellow blood-stained pant was folded up to just above her knees. I noticed a cut scar on her calf that extended from her ankle to her mid-knee.

"What?!" I heard Amarpal's voice boom from the hall. I could picture the situation outside, the Malhotra's must have been informing them about the rishta.

I sighed, looking at her wounds, "Akshita?" "Hmm?" came a faint reply, "I want to tell you something, and I know I should have told you earlier and it was wrong on my side, but... My family has proposed a Rishta, me and you, and I understand if you don't agree- Akshita?"

Her eyes were closed as she breathed in and out. A smile graced my lips looking at her sleeping figure. I placed my lips on her forehead, aiding her wounds.

When he was done with her knee, he went over to her forehead. There were small cuts scars and burns on her upper forearms.

I sat beside her, cotton gripped between the tweezers as I applied the medicine ever so delicately, taking the bandage, and binding it around her knee.

After finishing up, I packed the box and kept it on the table. Taking some papers, and wrapping the glass pieces, I packed them properly and discarded them.

I looked at her sleeping figure, placing a chaste kiss on her cheek, and made my way to the hall.
