Chapter Twenty Nine
"Abigail?", she felt a handshake her gently before she peeled her eyes open to see Stephanie sitting next to her
"What?", she rubbed the sleep off her eyes as she looked out the window. The sun wasn't even out.
"Someone is waiting for you in the lounge", she watched as her friends lips curl up into a smile. She groaned as she turned away from her and pulled the covers over her head.
"Does that person know what time it is?", she grumbled before felt Stephanie yank the covers off her and pulled her forcibly from the bed
"Stephanie", she groaned as she tried to peel herself from her tight grip as she was dragged her out of her room. Her effort of trying to overpower her friend went unnoticed as she finally walked free willingly, silently protesting at her friend. She stopped in her tracks as she saw him blindfolded in the center of the lounge.
"Oh my God", she grasped, clearly dumbfounded of what he was doing there so early in the morning
"Abbie?", the sound of her voice cause him to stand up on his feet and put out both his hands as if he was trying to feel whether she was close enough to him
"Why are you blindfolded?", she took a step closer to him
"Stephanie told me its a bad omen to see you before the wedding", he chuckled lightly as he took a step closer to her from hearing the sound of her voice. He didn't sound like the last time they talked and parted ways. He was the Ian she knew and grew to love.
"Are we still getting married?", she questioned as his hands searched for her
"Of course we are Abbie", his voice was full of concern before his hands finally found her and pulled her close to him
"I just thought after everything that happened you would want nothing to do with me"
"I love you way too much to lose you", he took her hand and placed it on his chest, across his beating heart. "You're the only woman for me Abbie. Every breath I take is meant for you. My soul belongs to you. My life belongs to you. My love belongs to you", his words bought tears into her eyes.
"I'm sorry for the things I said the other day. I was angry and said things I wasn't supposed to"
"You had every right to. I was irresponsible and stupid. I didn't mean to hurt you"
"I know you didn't. Austin told me what happened"
"I'm really sorry for betraying your trust, if I could take it all back, believe me I could cause I never wanted any of this to happen. I'm very sorry Ian, I'm so so sorry", she sobbed his hands cupped her face and caressed both her cheeks gently
"Shh, it's okay. I forgive you", he cooed softly as he pulled her into his warm embrace. The feeling of being intoxicated by his musky spicy scent was somehow comforting. They remained in that position for a couple of minutes before they withdrew from each other, and he kissed both her hands.
"So Ms Haines..."he trailed off before going down on one knee. "What do you say? Are you still keen on making me the happiest man alive by being my wife?", he smiled, even though he was blindfolded, she could tell that smile reached his eyes.
"I'll be delighted to"
Abigail took a few deep breaths as she finished getting ready. Calvin knocked on the door. He was walking her down the aisle and giving her away.
"Are you ready Abbie?", he peeked inside, and she gave a short nod
"In a minute", she smiled, and he gave her a quick thumbs up as he closed the door gently again. Lucy stood behind her and gave her a gentle squeeze from behind.
"Something old", she placed a diamond necklace around her neck. "This was passed down to me by your grandmother from your great-grandmother. A precious gem that's been in our family for years. You can also pass it down to Emily on her wedding day", Abigail grasped as she ran her fingers in the necklace as tears pricked her eyes.
"It's beautiful", she turned to engulf her in a hug. "Thanks Mom"
"It's a pleasure my darling", she cupped her face as they broke away from the hug. "You're so beautiful"
"Something borrowed", Stella took off the bracelet Ian had bought for her and put on her arm before wrapping her arms around her
"Thank you so much Stella. It's beautiful", she gave a bright which Stella reciprocated.
"And now for Something new", Stephanie handed her an earring box with the most beautiful diamond studs she'd ever seen
"Steph, you didn't have to", tears threatened to escape from her eyes. She was too overwhelmed by emotion to control herself.
"I wanted to", she helped her put them on. Abigail took one last look at herself on the mirror and took another deep breath. The wedding dress she chose looked even good on her than the day she was fitting it on. She indeed felt like a princess, and she was on her way of having her fairy tale wedding.
They all held hands. "It's time Abbie", the women chorused in union, and she nodded her head after taking yet deep breath.
"It's time"
The moment Ian saw her walking down the aisle, the feeling of being nervous a couple of minutes prior completely vanished and his lips turned up into a smile. She looked so beautiful in her wedding gown, she took his breath away. He still couldn't believe that she was finally going to be his and take his last name. They locked eyes until she reached the altar. He and Calvin shook hands before he gave her away to him. He took her hands into his as they stood opposite each other. He couldn't believe how incredible she looked as he kissed both her hands as the priest begun his sermon. She blushed and looked away for a second before they locked eyes again.
"I, Ian Parker, take you, Abigail Haines to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. I will be faithful and honest to you. I will respect, trust, help and care for you and I will adore you to the moment I draw my last breath", he slipped the ring onto her finger and bought her hand to his lips and kissed it.
"I, Abigail Haines, take you, Ian Parker to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish you. I promise to stay true to you in good times and in bad. I will share my life with you. I promise to be faithful and honest with you. I will care and trust you. I will love and honor you all the days of my life", she slipped the ring on his finger.
"Till death do us apart", they said in union as they pinky promised and smiled at each other
"You may kiss your brid-", the priest hadn't finished announcing, Ian had already claimed their lips together for a slow passionate kiss. Their guests stood up and clapped their hands in celebration.
"Mr and Mrs Ian Parker", he held out their entwined hands together before they walked down the aisle together with flower petals being tossed at them as they walked through the church doors
After they finished taking pictures, Cleo managed to steal them away for a couple of minutes so that they could get a sneak preview of their reception area. They chose a gold, white and green reception decor with centerpieces.
"It's beautiful Cleo", Abigail grasped as they walked inside the hall
"You like it?", Cleo wore a promising smile on her face
"Are you kidding me? We love it, don't we babe?", she jumped excitedly as Ian wrapped his arm around her.
"Of course we do. You really outdid yourself Cleo. It's beautiful"
"The pleasure is all mine. If you excuse me, I have to check on the refreshments", they watched as she turned on her feet and walked towards the exist of the hall.
"So Mrs Parker...", he trailed seductively, causing her to smile at her new title and turned to look at him, entwining their hands together as they slow danced in the center of the hall. "Is everything to your satisfaction?"
"Everything is just perfect", she smiled against his lips after their lips locked in a kiss
"Are you ready for the beginning of the rest of our lives together?"
"Most definitely", she pecked him on the lips again
"Did I tell you just how beautiful you look today?"
"Maybe once or twice", she giggled before looking at him straight in the eye. His bright smile never left his lips. "I love you, Mr Parker"
"I love you more, Mrs Parker", he rested his forehead on hers, and she withdrew from him as she thought of something
"You haven't told me where we're going for our honeymoon", she quizzed before seeing his lips turn up into a mischievous grin
"It's a suprise"
