Unmovable

A/N- Two posts in one day? One on my story 'Exile' and my one shots? Who am I?

I'm back loves! So sorry for the delay with my posting. I have had such a hard time writing my one shots recently due to scheduling issues but I'm back!

This is based off a request I received a few weeks back. I hope that the person who requested this enjoys it. <3

"Come on!" Foggy exclaimed, following Matt into his office. "It's one night, what's the worst it can do?"

Matt chuckled, "I have work I have to get done, Fog." He sat down on the edge of his desk, crossing his arms over his chest. "Its a big case."

Foggy watched as his friend lied through his teeth, Foggy gives him an amusing smirk. "What case exactly? Because last I checked we finished the Jones case two days ago and since then we have yet to get a new client."

"I'm doing extra work; just incase we missed something." He counters.

"Matt," Foggy sighs, anxiously rubbing his hands over his face. "Come on. Just a couple drinks, that's all I'm asking." He paused, seeing he wasn't doing well at convincing his friend. So he went with the next best thing. "Karen told me the girl is hot and needs to get laid."

Matt's ears perk up, "She said that?"

"Coming straight from the mouth of whoever this chick is." Foggy loosely shrugged. "So, are you in now? Or will I just have to awkwardly sit at Josie's alone with two girls for the night?"

Matt took a deep inhale, standing up. Foggy let out a sigh of relief as he watched Matt walk over to his chair, grabbing his jacket as he tossed his arms inside of it.

"Fine." Matt says, grabbing his briefcase as he pointed at Foggy. "But I'm only doing this because I don't trust you alone with two females while your drunk. Last time that happened you scared a girl shitless about her veins shriveling up because of her being dehydrated."

Foggy chuckled, watching as Matt walked closer before he patted his friends back.

"Ah, that was cruel." He said, flicking the lights off as Matt opened the door. "But hell it was fun to see her reaction."

Matt laughs at Foggy's reaction, just before they take off down the staircase and out the building, heading to Josie's.

"So, you said your friend is bringing someone?" You questioned, swirling your finger over your glass. "On a scale of one to ten how hot is this said someone?"

Your words made Karen laugh as she leaned further against the table. "I think you'll like him, believe me." She raised her eyebrows suggestively. "Besides, we've been slammed packed with legal papers for so long I don't think he's left his desk once in the past two weeks. He'll be happy to be with someone other then his workmates."

"Jesus, that sounds awful." Your face scrunches as you listen to her words, "I mean, I thought my job was demanding but that sounds like a dumpster fire." Reaching forward, you grabbed your glass and lifted it to your lips as Karen kept speaking.

"I guess It's a bit demanding. I'm not a lawyer so I can't really be saying much." She shrugged. "You know, we're gonna be getting into our busy season pretty soon. It wouldn't hurt if we had another lawyer in the office. Preferably female for my sake."

You let out a hum as you placed your glass down. "Yeah I'd rather not. We both know my lawyer days are long gone." You offered a small smile, watching as Karen's face filled with disappointment. "But- I'll take a card if you have one. Just in case I decide to leave The Bulletin and pursue law again."

Karen smiled, "Thank you." She said sincerely. "Let me look in my bag and see if I have a card-" She dug through her purse which was in the barstool next to her. "If I don't have one I'm pretty sure Matt carries one with him. If not I know for a fact Foggy does-"

"Wait, I'm sorry-" You shook your head, all color leaving your face. "Foggy and Matt? As in Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock?"

"Yeah." Karen perked her head up. "You know them?"

"Know them?" You exasperated. "Karen, Matt's the douchebag who ditched me for some girl in college. The one who I had a crush on."

"HE'S THE GUY?" Karen questioned loudly.

"He's the guy!" You said back, just as the sound of the door opening filled your ears.

Turning back, you where met with Foggy's face which almost looked as surprised as yours. You where thankful Matt couldn't see, because oh if he could you where pretty sure he would have shit himself.

"Shit." You said to yourself.

"Shit." Foggy said to Matt, tugging at his arm. His eyes where focusing on you, unable to glue them to anything else. "Uh...oh God."

"Oh God what?" Matt questioned, turning his head to Foggy as he repeated his words. "Oh God what?"

"Oh God it's your ex best friend, Y/n." Foggy said.

"What?" Hearing your name threw Matt off completely. To some extent, he had almost completely forgotten about the woman who hid behind the name. You carried enough merit in his life to the point where forgetting you was all he could do in order to move on from what happened between you both after he chose Elektra over you. Somehow though, the second that name left Foggy's mouth, it was almost as if God put recollections of memories back into his mind for this very moment.

Matt stuttered over his words, trying to turn back and open the door. "We gotta go."

"No, your staying." Foggy said, grabbing Matt's arm. "I get you and her may have a past, but that's on you, not her! Your the guy who left her and the completely ignored her for some psychotic chick with a good ass." Foggy's eyes where still focused on you, "And dude let me just say, if I had the choice now I would have definitely chosen Y/n because hell she looks good."

"I didn't ignore her, I just chose to keep things more friendly rather then romantic." Matt said in such a ambivalent tone, his friend had to give him a short, confused look to make sure he was being serious.

"Matt, dude, you did ignore her. Right now is your chance to apologize because If you don't it's gonna be a hell of an awkward night for you." He tugged on Matt's arm. "So let's go."

Matt was pulled across Josie's by his arm, his heartbeat rising the closer he got to you.

"Matt, Foggy!" Karen exclaimed, standing from her spot at the bar. She turned to you, seeing the changed expression. "This is Y/n Y/L/N." She tapped her finger against the table, seeing as you and Matt both remained completely silent. "I uh- I guess you've both already met."

"We have." you and Matt both said in union, making Foggy and Karen both look at each other with a very uncomfortable expression.

Matt could already tell by your tone that you where not over everything. Your voice was still harsh against the back of your throat, the same type of harsh you had the night you and him got into your final argument.

Foggy watched as Matt remained silent. The only movement coming from his chest as he breathed heavily.

"Karen." Foggy's voice called out as he gave her wide eyes. "Maybe me and you should uh-" He nodded to the bar. "Go grab some drinks."

Karen turned to you, seeing the expression of Don't You Dare written across your eyes. Just as you shot her the look, she turned back to Foggy.

"Yeah," She said with a smile. "Drinks sound great."

With that, her and Foggy quickly fled the murder scene that was about to unfold between you and Matt.

Remaining silent for a moment longer, Matt moved in front of you, taking the seat Karen sat in before. He waited, hoping that you would talk first so you could both break the awkward silence that was growing between you both.

"If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't have come if I'd known you be here." Matt interjected. It was clear that his words didn't make you feel any better about the situation. Your heartbeat faltered just before you turned to face him.

"Wow, Matt." You said in a sarcastic high pitch tone. "Way to lighten the mood in a good way. Is your bedside manner always this good?" Before Matt could even speak, you continued. "With all do respect, and I mean that very insincerely, I'm not gonna kiss your ass for the rest of the night just to make it seem like me and you have figured everything out."

"Well, I've always liked it a little rough," He said with a smile. You rolled your eyes at his innuendo, scoffing.

You hummed, "Not getting enough of that from your girlfriend? What was her name again, Elektra?"

Matt laughed, "Ah, there it is. Jealously." He leaned forward, swirling his finger at you. "You know, sweetheart, It's not a good color on you."

"Is that what you think this is about?" You cut him off, "Me having a crush on you in college?" You followed your own question with laughter. "I don't mean to break your God complex, but I actually don't stay up at night thinking about what happened between me and you. Hell, tonight is the first time In years that I have thought about you. I have neither the time or energy to dwell on it."

Matt sat back, "Foggy thought that apologizing would make this better." He shook his head. "But I don't think apologizing will do shit."

"Why is that?" You questioned. "Because you hate admitting that you where a dick who left me in the dust?"

Matt rolled his eyes, "Oh grow up."

Round one- Ding, Ding, Ding

"Grow up?" You questioned, scoffing. "Grow up? You selfish mother-"

Foggy and Karen watched your argument unfold with Matt. They couldn't hear anything, but all they could see where your exasperated movements followed by Matt scoffing and leaning back into his chair.

"How do you think it's going between them?" Foggy questioned, his face growing sour as his brows furrowed.

"Y/n is on her third glass of Golden Schnaps for the night," Karen turned towards Foggy. "With her first glass she's happy, second one she's sad, and third one she's angry." She shrugged, taking a sip from her own drink. "It's like if the movie Inside Out was in the form of liquor."

"So then it's probably going well." Foggy said with sarcasm as they both continued watching you and Matt argue with each other.

"Do you know how humiliating it is to be replaced by your best friend? Do you, Matt?" You exasperated. "It fucking hurts, let alone it's embarrassing."

"You could have stayed!" Matt yelled. Despite the loud banter that came from his voice, it was low enough to keep the attention from others around off of you both. "You just got all weird because you couldn't handle me having someone in my life that wasn't you! You've always been like that, jealous because other people find someone better then you."

His words cut as deep as a knife to your chest. Turning to your side, you grabbed your bag as Matt pursed his lips. He instantly regretted what he said.

"Y/n I-"

"Your wrong." You said, standing up from your spot. "I don't get jealous when people I care for make new friends, hell I couldn't give two shits." You watched as Matt tried to speak, quickly cutting him off. "But you didn't just get a new friend Matt, you left me. From the time you ditched me on my birthday, to the time you ghosted me at a restraint and I was sitting there alone the entire night, I can guarantee you that growing up doesn't get those memories out of my fucking mind."

Matt continued listening.

Taking a deep breath you continued, "I'll admit it, the way we left things was shitty. I shouldn't have gone off on you, let alone gotten mad about the fact that you found someone that you loved. But for one second, I would love to see your head out of your ass long enough to realize that you where in the wrong too."

Matt felt discouraged, listening as you ruffled your hands through your bag. He tried to speak, but as if God was putting some sort of force on him to remain quiet and to just keep things as is, his tongue felt like it was getting pulled back.

"Tell Karen thanks for the drinks." You placed a wad of cash down on the table in front of Matt before walking straight forward towards the door, pulling at the handle on the door as it latched open, letting you out into the warm night in New York.

"What the hell was that?" Foggy questioned, walking back over quickly with two glasses of bobrun in his hands.

Matt reached over, grabbing one of the glasses as he downed the entirety of the liquid. "You where wrong, Fog." He placed the glass down. "Apologizing did absolute shit."

Matt listened as your footsteps echoed away. He remained silent, pondering on your words. If it wasn't for the fact that Matt Murdock was more stubborn then a rock, maybe he would have gone after you. Maybe he would have admitted that he was in the wrong and that he shouldn't have given you up. Yet, there he sat, unmovable.

A/N- Thank you all so much for reading! Sorry if there where any typo's, I was unable to edit this beforehand :)

Also, if anyone has any fluffy one shots I would really appreciate it! I like doing serious ones but I feel like you all are in dire need of some fluff (And possibly some smut if anyone is willing to give me ideas?)

Thank you all once again and have a great day/night. Make sure to stay safe too!
