Halloween
Matt leaned against the dumpster, scrounging through his bag. He popped a jolly rancher into his mouth, blue raspberry of course, his favorite. Mello punched him in his side.
"Hey," Mello huffed, shoving a piece of Hershey chocolate into his mouth. "Can I have your chocolate?" A piece of the Hershey bar flew out of his mouth as he said this.
"Yeah," Matt grumbled. "As long as you don't talk with your mouth full anymore." He began to look through his bag, he stopped when he was sure he had found every bit of chocolate.
"Here." Matt dumped all of the candy into Mello's lap. This year Mello had dressed up as a Devil. It wasn't a very clever costume, all he had bothered to get was crimson red horns, a sharp tail (which Matt thought was painfully cheesy), a red cotton shirt, and hastily tie dyed red pants. Matt, however, had chosen what he thought to be a more original costume, although he was questioned by many if he was even really wearing a costume. He had chosen to be Ash from Pokemon. He hadn't ever watched the actual show, but he's played the games multiple times.
Mello looked down at all the chocolate on his lap, satisfied for a moment. His face went from a gentle smile to a thick frown.
"There's a piece open, stupid!" He growled. "It's on my pants!" He began to rub at the stain.
"Here." Matt said, leaning down. He licked the sleeve of his shirt and began to rub the stain on Mello's crotch. Mello blushed furiously and shoved Matt away.
"Hands off, idiot!" He snarled through gritted teeth. "I can wipe it off myself." He stood up. "Lets go." Matt shrugged and began to follow Mello. Mello walked at an extremely fast rate, Matt, who was somewhat shorter than Mello, had a difficult time keeping up. The boys reached the gates of Wammy house, but instead of going inside, Mello headed behind, towards the woods of the orphanage.
"Where are you going?" Matt asked, somewhat confused. Then again, Mello always made him confused...
"What? You scared of the woods?" Mello said, stopping midstep to turn and smirk at Matt.
"No, of course not." Matt tried to say this cool-headedly, but his voice cracked mid sentence, not because he was scared, god no, he couldn't remember the last time he was scared, but the way Mello was looking at him...
Mello chuckled at this, and turned to continue to walk, Matt blushed and silently followed after him. They entered the woods, which was much darker than the lamppost-lit streets. Mello pressed on, now dragging the confused Matt by his sleeve. Then, before Matt's eyes had even adjusted to the darkness, Mello had stopped. They were in a clearing.
"Wha-" Matt began. Mello turned to look at him. The two boys stood face to face in the darkness, each breathing heavily. Matt tried to talk but before he could, Mello pulled him close, burying his face into Matt's shoulder. Matt was speechless, he was confused. Matt blushed even harder. He didn't know what to do.
"Mello.." Matt said hoarsely. Mello took his head from Matt's shoulder and looked into Matt's eyes. Matt scrunched up his face, which he felt was reddening quickly, the heat from his face made him want to look away, look anywhere besides Mello's wide, brilliant blue eyes.
"Yes Matt?" Mello replied.
