Chapter 2

July first to August twenty-seventh wasn't that much time to prepare but it didn't matter if they each started getting everything together as quickly as possible.

Uniforms, spare clothes, books, backpacks, miscellaneous things. Everything had to be prepared but at least the school would provide their necessities such as groceries, toiletries, and beds along with the sheets and pillows.

Renjun's two older brothers had gone near feral when they found out about the recruiting letter and their parents had to shut them up before the police came for them. They normally made a ton of commotion but this time they had been making so much noise of excitement that the neighbours had started going outside to look at what was happening in the Huang household.

On the opposite side of the country, Jeno had a dinner with his entire extended family on his Dad's side. He found out his cousin, Donghyuck, had also been recruited and he was glad he would at least know one person. His entire family was so proud of the two boys and just knew greatness would come of them.

Then there was Jaemin. He had been in a good mood since the day he found out he was able to go and his parents liked that. He was almost never so joyous and they thought it was a nice change. Jaehyun always brought him a little something after summer classes each day as a way of showing happiness and pride for his little brother.

The days were going by quicker and quicker and as each day passed, butterflies started building in their stomachs. The day before they were due to mount the boat that would take them to the school, each family had a goodbye party and a road trip to the boating dock so they wouldn't be late the following day. Early sleep was necessary in order to arrive on time and before they even realized, the one memorable day in August had arrived. They didn't have to wake up extremely early to get to the boat but sometimes, such rare life occurrences were enough to wake you up before you wanted. So in that case, the lower Northern centre of the country had activity going on before the sun even peeked through the sky, activity from the East, West, and South preparing for the travel in a few hours.

The station was crowded. Yeah, it was normally crowded but this time, there were more people than usual. Several students were spotted in the uniform along with their families. The neat, black dress shoes, grey trousers with a black belt, and a form-fitting, purple, long-sleeved turtleneck with the school logo was their uniform.

Turtleneck? Yes. Especially since the school was in the North and it was normally chilly there.

If it were a normal institution, it would've been in a location where it'd have easy access but for some reason, it was situated two days driving from most civilization and so they had constructed a path through a river that'd allow them to get to the location within an hour. It was mysterious but it had worked for as long as the place had existed and no one had questioned it since it was constructed.

"Hurry up, Ren."

"Shut up, Yukhei. You have longer legs than I do and why do you seem more excited than I am?" Renjun asked his eldest brother as he struggled to keep up with his giant brothers.

"Just walk faster and stop talking," Kunhang, his other brother, said carrying one of Renjun's bags.

Renjun looked adorable to all who saw him simply because he was tiny compared to his two giant siblings and his fluffy hair bounced as he tried to keep up with them. They coo-ed at him internally but the moment they spotted Yukhei and Kunhang stomping their way carrying Renjun's luggage, everyone parted like the red sea to prevent being possibly stepped on.

._._.

"Hurry up, Jeno," Taeyong complained.

"I'm going as quick as I can! You just have long ass legs!"

Jeno's servants were carrying all of his things but he still had to keep up with his brother who walked as if his life depended on it. His parents were walking at a pace behind them, trying to deal with the fact that their youngest son was leaving them for an extended period of time. His cousin, Donghyuck, was still in the vehicle trying to get his Mom to stop crying and hopefully, they wouldn't miss the boat due to him worrying so much.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted an adorable boy latching onto what he assumed was his older brother's arm and he just coo-ed at the sight before he nearly crashed into someone. Well, two people, that is, who were stomping by while a tiny boy chased after them and he just had to coo at that as well. He had finally caught up to Taeyong without realizing, simply because he had suddenly stopped walking but disaster happened.

He, unfortunately, didn't realize his brother had stopped, too busy looking at his new schoolmates who he had to admit were prettier than he thought possible, and crashed into him which resulted in Taeyong falling forward and crashing onto someone else which resulted in a horrible domino effect and that person fell forward only to splash all of their iced coffee on someone's white shirt.

Movement froze for a while, everyone trying to figure out what the actual hell happened but suddenly a loud laugh broke them out of the trance caused by the disaster.

"AHAHAHA YOUR BRAND NEW WHITE SHIRT IS RUINED! OH HESUS!" Renjun wheezed, grabbing onto Kunhang for support as he laughed at Yukhei. "Oh, dear Hesus, who caused this?"

Renjun looked around and spotted Jeno standing there with wide eyes as Taeyong lay on the ground turning red in both anger and embarrassment. Renjun decided there was nothing else he could do to help the situation but continue laughing boisterously as his elder brother held himself from getting an aneurysm and just about ending someone's life.

Out of nowhere, a person appeared in front of Taeyong and offered his hand to help him up, Jeno smirking when he saw his brother blush. He could sense a spark.

"Are you okay? I saw how you fell."

"I'm fine, thanks. My brother just doesn't see very well I assume," Taeyong glared at Jeno.

"Oh dear. Must be first day nerves. My name's Jaehyun."

"Lee Taeyong."

Jeno left the two to chit chat and zoned out until they were done, having no one to talk to in the first place. Besides, Donghyuck was still absent and missed the drama he would be sure to complain about not being able to see on the first day of school.

._._.

On the subject of Yukhei's ruined shirt, the boy who had splashed his coffee was frantically apologizing and pulling out tissues from his bag.

"It's okay. That shirt isn't even that expensive," Kunhang reassured the boy.

"What do you mean not exp-"

Kunhang slapped a hand over Yukhei's mouth and smiled at the boy.

"Are you sure? My Mom is over there so I can get her to pay for it."

"Great ide-"

Kunhang once again slapped his hand over Yukhei's mouth after he had tried to speak up and smiled at the boy again.

"I'm certain. Yukhei here has a lot of white shirts like this and he doesn't need it to be paid."

Renjun snorted at his brothers, knowing full well Kunhang had already formed a small crush on the boy who had splashed the coffee on Yukhei's shirt.

"Okay. Well if you decide you want it paid, here's my Mom's business card," the boy said, handing over a small card with a name and number on it. "Just tell her that her son, Dejun, accidentally dumped a cup of coffee on someone and said to call that number to be paid."

Dejun bowed and quickly walked away to a nearby bathroom to where Renjun assumed he was going to wash off the coffee on his hands.

"And you did that for what, Kunhang? You KNOW full well this shirt costs over nine hundred thousand won," Yukhei fumed, crossing his arms and glaring at his brother. "And you also KNOW that this was a limited edition shirt."

"Shut up. He was adorable, okay?"

"That was the dumbest excuse I've ever heard."

"And? I've decided approximately three seconds ago that I like him and I noticed he's attending Ren's school so I'll apply to work there or some shit. I don't know but he's really adorable."

"Falling for a stranger? Good gracious. Now that's weird," Renjun piped up, scrunching his face in disagreement at his brother. "What next? You might even fly him out to vegas?"

"Can you shut up?" Yukhei snapped at him. "Now what'll I do with a coffee stained shirt?"

"I dunno. Tie-dye it or something," Kunhang suggested, looking at Dejun who had exited the bathroom and was making his way to his Mom.

Before they knew it, Yukhei had pulled off his coffee drenched shirt and stood in the station shirtless, exposing his muscular chest and arms.

"Disgusting. I'll tell Jungwoo what you're doing," Renjun muttered.

That comment somehow caused Yukhei to start bickering with Kunhang, colourful swears exiting his mouth the more Kunhang insisted it was okay because Dejun was 'cute' or something. And Renjun decided the only thing left to do was zone out from their useless fighting and so that's what he did.

Several feet away, Jaemin stood behind his brother as he talked to Taeyong. He could have stood with his parents who were a couple of yards away but chose to stick with his brother since he was much more comfortable with him. He could also try talking to the boy with white hair but decided he didn't want to.

By the way things were looking, Jaemin assumed he would take a while to get used to living away from his brother but he promised himself he would survive. He had planned to spend the last minutes talking with Jaehyun but it appeared that wouldn't be possible since he was now busy chit-chatting away.

Maybe he could find himself a cute Christian partner while he waited. He scanned the area but didn't see anyone he was interested in. Especially since he noticed that there were no girls adorning that uniform. All boys school he concluded. He decided to simply day dream until it was time to get on the boat, seeing no use in looking for someone there wouldn't be.

Mayhaps that's why everyone that left was successful. They didn't have anyone to be distracted by, except themselves.
