Chapter 3: Eclipse

Delilah's P.O.V.

"Okay, if we can have everyone's attention." I said as I stood on the platform in the wolf den, my mates standing beside me as we looked down on all the werewolves below us.

"There have been reports that a pack of rogue wolves planning to invade our territory and Seabrook. Knowing that they live in the deepest, darkest part of the Forbidden Forest, they're not that far. So, to keep us safe, there will be a group patrolling the perimeter to ensure that no rogues are near the pack." Willa explained.

The wolves nodded in agreement. I could see the pups looking worried and clinging onto their parents. My motherly instincts kicked into full gear at the thought of any rogues trying to hurt our pups.

"Don't worry, little ones." I reassured them.

"As you all may know, the eclipse is tonight and it's a very big deal for all of us. Not only will our powers increase, but our wolf sides will be unleashed. So, to make it safe, we're all going to the abandoned warehouse in Seabrook where chains on the ground have been installed all throughout the building for future use in case of future eclipses. The chains are powerful enough to the point where it's impossible to break free. Don't worry, they're not made out of silver. The more experienced wolves who are able to control themselves will be on-guard to make sure those who will be in chains can't hurt themselves or others."

Murmurs sounded in the pack along with a couple nodding their heads in understanding.

"The pups won't be affected, as their powers don't fully develop until they're at least 13. They'll be staying here at the den under the care of my sister and the Elders. I'll admit that I'm still learning the aspects of being Alpha and don't have experience with lunar eclipses. The best advice I can give is that if you feel yourself about to lose control, find an anchor. Something meaningful to you. If you bind yourself to it, it will keep the human side in control. Your anchor can be a person, place, or object, even a mantra. With that being said, good luck tonight." I said.

Once the pack went their separate ways, I looked at my mates. "Have there been any signs or traces of the rogues?"

They shook their heads. "Not as far as the rest of the territory."

"Well, we have to keep an eye out. We've dealt with hunters in the past and we don't know what else might be out there." I explained.

"Even if rogues came in, you could easily wipe them out or make them go away. You're stronger than they are or any of us. You're the Queen of all werewolves and a very powerful one at that." Willa said.

I took a deep breath before I looked at the time. It was already close to lunch and it wouldn't hurt to go into Seabrook. We haven't been there for a while.

"Let's go get something to eat. I'm starving." I said.

"We already ate, though." Wynter said.

"We can go with you if you want." Willa offered. I smiled and agreed before I said bye to the pack. and gave her a kiss.

We made our way to the exit of the den before we began our destination to Seabrook. The three of us kept going until we found a diner and saw a couple of our friends.

Addison, Zed, A-Lan, Eliza, and A-Spen.

"Hey, guys!" I greeted and they all smiled, seeing me.

"It's been a while!" My best friend said as she hugged me. "It really has." I said before we let go. I touched her blue hair and smiled. "You're rocking this hair."

She laughed before we all sat down. I ordered my food as we continued chatting with our friends.

"Have you guys shifted into wolves yet?" Addison asked.

I shook my head. "Nope. It's just something we have to wait for. Our inner wolves haven't surfaced, but we can hear them."

"Are you going to be shifting on full moons or can you do it at will?" A-Lan asked.

"At will." I replied with a smile.

"Hey, I have an idea! Why don't we make plans and go on a vacation soon? Think of it like a getaway." Addison suggested.

"I wish we could, but we have a little problem right now that we need to take care of." Willa explained.

"Make that two now." Wynter reminded.

"Oh, I forgot. The eclipse, right?" Eliza asked. I nodded my head. "We've also felt like the Rogues are planning to invade Seabrook again, but little do they know, we got more power than they do."

"What are Rogues? I have no idea what you're talking about." A-Spen asked.

Myself and Wynter explained everything about the Rogues to the history of our pack and how I became Alpha to them.

Luckily, the aliens had a better understanding about the situation.

"Well, there the pack, the zombies, and of course, you guys." I explained. "Now, let's not worry about that for a few hours."

Once my food came, I began eating and continued talking with our friends. The aliens have really improved their interactions and understanding of human ways.

"Come on, A-Lan, let go of the railing!" I laughed as we all skated across the rolling rink.

"What if I fall?" he asked.

"Then use your powers to steady your balance! Once you get the hang of it, stop using them and go with the flow." I said, teasing him as I skated around him.

We decided to come roller skating after lunch and just have a little fun before the eclipse tonight. The Elders had informed me earlier that they would be making preparations.

I laughed when Zed fell on his behind once again as Addison tried helping him. "What's up with everyone falling today?"

Willa skated as Wynter did a twirl with one leg up. Wyatt didn't feel like skating, so he decided to play some arcade games. I saw Eliza and A-Spen just sitting together and talking, having finished their skating.

"Zed, wait!" I heard Addison say before I turned, seeing him fall backwards. I chuckled before going over to them as she looked on in concern.

"You looked like you hit your head that time." she said.

He blinked as he had a dazed look on his face. "What's that, Coach?"

I laughed, shaking my head.

"He definitely hit his head." I said before skating off.

I saw Willa chasing me and I smiled, teasing her as I began skating faster. She eventually caught up to me and caught me in her arms.

"Gotcha!" she said with a smile.

I laughed and kissed her lips before we began skating hand-in-hand. I noticed Wynter catching up to us and she took my other hand in hers.

"You having fun, babe?" I asked.

"Yup! I don't know why I haven't done this before!" she beamed up, her eyes sparkling.

After two hours of skating, we all decided to stroll around Seabrook before it was time to get dinner so we wouldn't be hungry for when the eclipse arrives. I was nervous about the whole thing, but hoped to keep myself in control and not hurt those I care about. Maintaining my control would be crucial, especially with the Rogues.

"Is that too tight?" Zed asked as he helped Addison chain me up, as there was only a little time left until the lunar eclipse happened.

It was finally night and most of the pack was already in the warehouse mentioned before.

A good amount have already been chained up and I could feel so many emotions at once. Specifically fear and anxiety, which made my heart ache, even though I was feeling the same way. I made sure to give them the advice of finding an anchor once again, knowing that they would have to believe their Alpha.

Z-Patrol was on standby outside of the warehouse as my mates and some of the Elders were watching over us. All of us were separated a good distance so we could avoid trying to rip each others' throats out.

"No, it's fine." I replied before Zed stood up and backed away.

Addison placed a hand on my cheek. "You'll get through this, Del." she told me with a smile.

"Thanks, Addi." I replied.

Suddenly, I felt some stinging pain that made me squirm a bit. I could see some of the other wolves groaning while others while growling already, their moonstones and eyes glowing.

"It's started."
