Chapter 10: Truth Revealed
Delilah's P.O.V.
I woke up with the sun shining from the crack of the wall. I felt a lot better compared to yesterday, although I was sore.
I noticed Elder Wes come in. He came over to my bed, checking me. "Morning, sweetie. How are you feeling?"
"Better." I asked.
"Good. Now, we're going to unhook you from the wires and all, but just take it easy. I've already informed your mates about you getting out of the infirmary, but I had to enforce them to be gentle with you since you're still not 100%. I have these special herbs that will help you with the recovery process and help speed it faster. They're made specifically for werewolves, but there's something about you that I can't explain, so there shouldn't be a problem." Wes explained.
I smiled and held his hand, showing him my gratitude. "Thank you so much, Sir. Really. I'm glad you gave me a chance to get to be with my mates more."
He smiled at me, shaking his head. "It's what I do. I consider you a friend now. I've always seen those three as my kids and I'm pretty sure we will get along great."
"I'm glad." I replied.
I saw the door to his office open and out came a woman with black hair and white streaks in her hair with tattoos on her arms and face just like Wes's with a smile on her face. Just like I did with him, I felt some kind of connection to her, like I knew her from somewhere, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
The way they both looked at me was with love and protectiveness, which made it a bit odd, but comforting at the same time due to the connections I was feeling towards them.
"Morning, dear. My name is Winona. I'm going to unhook you. Are you ready?"
I nodded my head.
She discharged me from the wires and machines, carefully taking my IV out and placing a bandage on it.
"Are you thirsty?" she asked. I nodded and she poured a cup of water before giving it to me.
It hurt at first, due to my throat being dry, but I felt relief come in as I drank the water.
"Now, I'm going to have to do a session on you for a bit. Do you want me to bring your mates in? They're wanting to see you." Wes asked.
I nodded my head. "Please."
He nodded towards Winona and she went out the infirmary for a second before bringing my mates in.
"Morning, sweetheart. How are you feeling?" Wynter asked as she took one of my hands in hers.
"Better, just a little sore." I replied.
Wyatt took my other hand in his and kissed it. Willa placed her hand on my leg and have me a sweet smile.
Winona left the room as Wes pulled up a chair and sat at the foot of the bed. He looked at me with a serious, yet worried expression.
"Delilah, I'm going to do this because I have a feeling that what I wondered was correct. You have to be completely honest because I'm worried about your well-being, especially these three." he explained.
Why do I have a feeling that he's going to ask what I think he is?
"How did you get the black eye and those scars on your arms? Your mates came to me saying they felt a bad aura around you when they saw you. What was it again?" he asked, looking at them.
"Sadness and pain." Wynter replied with her head hung low.
Wes nodded before looking at me.
"I-I can't. They'll hurt me again." I told them.
Wyatt spoke up. "No, they can't anymore. You can tell us."
I looked down and felt the bubble of emotions I had held inside me for the past 10 years pop and tears filled my eyes.
I never told anybody what happened to me all those years. For almost my entire life, I was forced to keep my mouth shut and be someone I wasn't because some people failed to be supportive.
Not even my own best friend knew about the crisis and it made me feel guilty. I was angry at myself for not being able to stand up for myself due to fear of being beaten and starved until the morning.
My plan to stand up for myself and put a stop to the abuse and all was taken away because I thought those two were just either screwing or just passed out as usual.
I didn't notice that I was starting to have a small panic attack.
"Calm down, hon. We're here." Willa said as she wrapped an arm around me.
I decided to just let everything out, bursting into tears and burying my face in my hands.
"It's been going for a very long time. For 10 years, I've been treated like a slave by my father and his toy. Whenever they can, I'm their way to vent our their frustration. I've always been nothing but a punching bag and slave to them. They threatened to kill or hurt anyone I would tell, so I stayed silent. He became abusive after my mother passed away and my aunt left. He used to be so sweet and kind, but it all came to an end. I've never told anybody and I feel bad for doing it, but, I had no choice. I'm so sorry." I explained.
"Don't apologize, babe." Wyatt told me as all three of them wrapped their arms around me. They comforted me until I stopped crying.
Wes sighed before turning his attention to me.
"I highly encourage you three to be with her at all times unless you can't be. She needs time to recover and don't put pressure on her. She can go out, but make sure she doesn't hurt herself. Make sure to take the herbs I gave you as directed. You can have them either normally or as a liquid. I'm sure your friend that we saw in the forest is worried about you. You can go home, but make sure to stay out of trouble. Feel free to come any time." Wes explained.
"I think I'll just stay here. I'll call Addison and tell her I'm with my mates." I said.
Wes nodded before he and my mates helped me up from the bed.
Willa wrapped her arm around me as did Wynter. Wyatt was behind us closely as we left the infirmary.
The four of us ended up in Ana tea that was beautiful. There were hieroglyphs and it looked as if it was space in a way. It was beyond gorgeous, even more with the werewolves all around the area.
"Okay, everybody. I'm going to say this once. Delilah here went through a lot, so don't make her feel uncomfortable or anything. It will take a while for her to recover, but make her feel welcome here. She is our mate and now an honorary pack member. Treat her with respect." Willa explained to the pack.
The wolves nodded and agreed before going back to their activities.
Wyatt came over with a smile. "Come on, let's go outside. You could use some fresh air."
I nodded before my mates led me outside and I felt at peace. The sun shined through the trees and hit my face, making me feel warmth, a feeling I've only felt a few times. The sounds of animals in the forest made it more better.
"Feels good, doesn't it?" Wynter asked with a smile.
I nodded before Wyatt picked me up bridal style and they took me to a nearby stream. He sat down on a fallen tree with me on his lap. The girls were leaning on me and I didn't want the moment to end.
"You have no idea how happy I am right now. Letting everything out." I said.
My head was laying on Wyatt's shoulder as we saw the running water flow. I soon felt him kiss my temple, making me smile.
"I need to call Addison. She needs to know I'm okay. I haven't seen her since the incident." I told them.
They all whined, but nodded. I saw Wynter pull a phone out from her pocket. It was mine.
"I held onto it for you." she said.
I took it from her and stood up, dialing my best friend's number. I pressed the phone to my ear as it rang.
Here goes nothing....
