Chapter 4
We stopped at a open field in the forrest. It was a beautiful place with a willow tree at the middle of it. 'Ethan this place is amazing.' I say with big eyes and a open mouth. When I turn around to look at him I see that he is already looking at me. Getting self-conscious I look down at my feet and fiddle with the hem of my sweater. 'You are as beautiful as this place. So don't look down, please.' he places his finger under my chin and lift it up, making me look up to him.
The hard reality crash down on me when I feel the sparks flying from his touch through me and I take a step back while breathing in sharply. 'You brought us here to explain this mate thing and everything around it. So would you please do that instead of bewitching me.' I snap at him, not understanding what is happening to me or what is happening in general. It makes me feel uncomfortable, not knowing. Especially because of what happend before, when I didn't understand.
A growl disrupt the upcoming memories, making me jump up before looking at Ethan. 'Little red, I'm still a Alpha and I wish to be spoke to as one.' he grinds his teeth and looks at me with a fierce look that would make pack wolves bow but it doesn't affect me, not even in the slightest. I raise my brow at him and roll my eyes.
Why are werewolves so possessed by rank. In my short period as a vampire, I got to know really quick that werewolves have a weird addiction to their ranks, even those who are on the bottom of the totem pole. 'Don't even try to use that magic you wolves use on each other on me. It won't work.' I sigh and roll my eyes frustatred. 'wolves don't possess magic, witches have magic. Where came that idea from?' he asks me rather amused, it seems he is already forgotten his anger with me or he has decided to let it slight.
'well, I have seen it before. The Alpha making his pack members bow with just one look or makes them transform back to human form. What would you call that if it is not magic?' I ask with a smug smile on my face. Than something happened that I didn't suspect, he began to laugh out loud almost choking on it. His laugh makes me feel jittery as if their were thousands of butterflies flying around in my stomach.
I hiss at him, trying to hide the new feeling. 'Tell me than what it is if it is not magic and stop laugh. It's annoying.' I growl trying to hide my flushed face behind my red hair. He immediately stops laughing and looks confused up to me, muttering under his breath somethings I can't hear, he straightens his back and takes my hand. when the sparks come I try to pull my hand out of his but he won't let go and growls lowly at my attempt. 'come, sit with me and I will explain everything to you and stop pulling back. It's annoying.' he says with a smug smile on his face and a glint of amusement in his eyes. Not knowing what to do I shrug my shoulders and let him guide me to the willow tree. We take a seat under the tree, leafs surround us making it as if we are the only ones on this planet.
'What do you actually know about the supernatural world?' he asks me while he traces my hand with his tumb. I try to ignore them and focus on the question but the sparks that spread through my hand make it diffcult. 'Not much, I guess. The basics, maybe?' I ask him with confused expression. Would he find me dumb because of how little I know. Subconsciously biting on my lip, I look down to the grass and when he lets go of my hand, I don't even look up. He thinks I'm dumb, he doesn't want to hang with me anymore but why do I care, I don't even know him. A feeling inside tells me that I want to get to know him, that I want to be close to him. I sigh frustrated by my own confusing thoughts. I look hastily up when his tumb frees my lip from my teeth. 'You shouldn't do that, little red.'
His face comes closer and closer, while his eyes are holding mine captured. I feel sweat running down my forehead, while my throat goes dry and if my heart could beat normally, it would beat almost out of my chest. 'E- Ethan, What you are doing?' I ask him with a unsteady voice, while I try to distance myself from him. When he looks at me I see a flash of hurt in his eyes but I can't be sure. It was gone when I looked at him more closely. He clears his throat and scratches the back of his neck, while a faint red colour appears on his cheeks. 'Nothing, I thought I saw something in your hair but is was nothing.' he says, trying to convince me but failling to do so. I make a humming sound and lean against the bark of the tree. We sit there a while before he disrupts the silence. 'I was going to tell you about the supernatural world, wasn't I.' I nod and look hopefully at him. Maybe he could make things understandable.
'The supernatural world is rulled by two of each species; witches, werewolves, vampires and fae. They're called the council, they make the rules that apply for whole the supernatural world, of course has every species their own rules but when they're in conflict the rules of the council, they're invalid. Witches are presanted by the coven leaders, vampires by the clan leaders and faes by Oberon and Titania. We, werewolves, are represanted by a Ulfric and a Lupa. They stand higher in rank than Alphas and Alpha females. The Ulfric or Lupa are chosen unanimously by all the Alphas around the world.' He pauses his explanation and looks at me. I look ahead of me and try to wrap my head around the new information. 'I didn't knew that.' I say eventually in a low voice. I pull my knees to me and hug them closely while I rest my head on them. 'please, continue. I would like to learn more about this world, Ethan.' I say softly while looking sideways at him with a small smile on my face.
