Chapter 3
In the same minute he said that I dropped to the ground and put my head in hands and start to cry. My teeth go back to what they where and I feel the veins around my return to normal to. 'I don't want to hurt anyone. Ever again.' I sob in my hands.
He places his hands on my shoulders while he crouched down. 'Breath, everything will be alright as long as you breath.' He whispers in my ear. Doing what he says I breath in and out while I count in my head to twenty. I curl up against the wall in the hallway and keep counting. 'Is she okay?' I hear Aiden ask Ethan. When did he get out of bed and into the hallway? Ethan looks at me with worry before he speaks again: 'I think so.' Ethan takes a seat next to me on the ground but he doesn't try to talk to me, he just sits there.
It makes me relax knowing that he would just sit next to me and doesn't make me try to talk to him. Aiden follows Ethan example and takes a seat at my other side. We sat there in total silent for a good ten minutes until Aiden began to snore. He had fallen asleep because he was still healing from the wounds he received from me. I felt extremly guilty. A arm wraps itself around my shoulder and from the strange sparks I know it is Ethan. 'Are you okay?' He asks softly as if he was afraid to break me. I nod my head and gave him a small reassuring smile.
Ethan is the first to stand up and pull me with him. 'Thank you.' I say while blushing a bit. He just smiles at me as if he had won the lottery. I was mesmerized by that beautiful smile that I almost forget about a sleeping beta on the ground until a loud snore broke the moment. Ethan looked annoyed at his sleeping best friend and signed. 'We should probably put him in bed.' I say while reaching down to grab his arms but Ethan was faster and threw the sleeping beta over his shoulder and walked into the room.
It gives me a moment to think things through and to notice that there are no other people in this part of the building, which is kinda strange. I start to use my enhanced hearing but I don't hear anything except for Aidens loud snores. Wanting to discuss my thoughts with Ethan I walk into the room to see him laying Aiden down. 'Where is everyone?' I ask with head tilted sideway and confusion in my voice. He doesn't look up or back. He just stands there frozen as if I asked a impossible question.
I feel the need to hug him which confuses me so much that I take a step back and shake my head in disbelief. He finally lifts his head up and turns around to me. 'I told them to leave this part of the building.' The way he carefully says that to me, makes something click in my head as if I had already knew. 'Because I'm a vampire. Well, I wasn't planning on staying. I just wanted to apologize to Aiden and then I was going to leave.' He growled at me, making me jump a bit. 'You're not leaving me. You're my mate and you belong with me.' His voice was dark and possessive. Frustrated I step forward. 'I have no freaking idea what a mate is but you are NOT going to tell me what to do.' I say while shoving my finger repeatedly in his shoulder with every word.
'Go fight somewhere else, I'm sleeping here.' Aiden groans before turning around the hospital bed. With a huff I walk out of the room and wait in the hallway for Ethan. Who does he think he is. Ethan slams the door behind him before he comes up to me. 'I need you, little red. I need you to stay.' He almost begs me with his eyes. He places his hands on my shoulders making sparks erupt, making me jump. 'Why do you always do that when you touch me.' I almost yell at him. He looks confused at me for a couple of seconds and then it is like something clicks in his head. 'Do you mean the sparks?' He asks with a dorky smile.
I narrow my eyes at him and nod my head. 'Maybe it is time I tell you about mates but not here. I want to take you to somewhere special.' The way he says that makes a warm feeling spread through me and for some reason I feel the need to say yes and so that is just what I do.
