Chap 13: I'm sorry

Youngjae didn't move, frozen in his spot out of fear and pure terror. The bag loosely hung over his shoulder drops to the floor in a heavy clump. His chest began to rise and fall at a unsteady rhythm, breath catching in his throat. He wanted to scream, run away but the natural submission he brought on him forced him to stay put locked in place. The parking lot was dark, quiet with no one around to hear his screams. He was truly alone, only company the man from his nightmares.

"W-What are you doing here? You can't be here, there's a restraining order." Youngjae out of all odds manages to choke out, his words faint and desperate in the air.

"I've come for you baby, I've missed you. I've missed us, it's been to long." Yugyeom stalks forward unwontedly, making Youngjae quiver and cower.

Youngjae clenches his jaw, eyes stinging as tears welled in his silver eyes. He goes to take a step back, keeping as much distance as he could from the alpha but in a clumsy act he trips over a loose rock lodged in his way. He stumbles to the hard ground, ass landing on the damp gravel.

"Get away from me! Help! Help me!" Youngjae starts to scream, finding his voice while he weakly attempts to crawl away.

Yugyeom skilfully like he's done a thousand times leaps on the frail omega, yanking at his hair pulling him up to slam his smaller body back against the side of the car. His large hand goes to cover his mouth, muffling anymore cries fighting to come out.

"Shut up! I don't want to hurt you, I just want to talk, clear the air so you'll have me back. So we can be together again." Yugyeom's voice sounded desperate, needy in its tone.

Youngjae's eyes dart in a panic over his features, gulping down as his nostrils get destroyed by Yugyeom's brute familiar pine nut scent. It smelt frightening to him, causing PTSD flashes of what this smell brought with it. Pain and suffering is all that came to mind.

When Youngjae doesn't say anything or tries to attack him Yugyeom takes that as a sign he'll listen to what he has to say. So he slowly removes his hand that covered his mouth.

"Help! Help me-." Youngjae screams again, trying to push the strong alpha off him.

"Damn it Youngjae!" Yugyeom aggressively grips his throat, slamming his body back into the door of the car.

Youngjae whimpers out at the sting pain flinging up his spine. His hands helplessly claw at Yugyeom's forearms, trying to pry his tight hold from around his neck.

"P-please don't." He breathlessly begs him, smelling the haunting anger in his scent which meant he knew what would be coming next.

"I just want to talk, that's all I wanted to do and you have to go ruin that. Listen to what I have to say and everything will be fine." Yugyeom squeezes his throat ever so slightly harder, winding him even more.

Youngjae winces, gasping for air which he would not allow. His breathing strained and slowed while Yugyeom's increased. He pathetically nods his head, telling him he'd listen, hear him out.

"Good, see that wasn't so hard. All you need to do is listen to me then none of this would've had to happen." Yugyeom leans in, a smile on his face though it immediately fades when he smells the alpha scent lurking on his omega.

His eyebrows farrow, smile turning into a scowl while he glances down at the side of Youngjae's neck. A low, inhuman animalistic growl resonated from deep in his throat. The sound alone sent a shock wave of fear to rinse through Youngjae, clogging every artery and muscle.

"An alpha marked you? You let someone else fucking mark you! You're mine! Those scars on your neck are proof of that. No ones allowed to fucking touch you! Who was is huh? Who the fuck was it." Yugyeom's alpha side blocked everything else out, he was lost in it at the moment he saw those freshly made marks.

Youngjae trembled in a smothering smog, pushing and clawing at him while his grip around his neck only seemed to tighten. Yugyeom was choking him, forcing his weight on his body so he's trapped against the car with no escape.

"I-I'm..not yours!" Youngjae spits out mangled, coughing in grunts of pain.

Yugyeom could only see red as he brought his fist up, bringing it down in one swift, cruel motion. His knuckles cracked against the side of his cheek, splitting the tender skin open with one brutal blow. It sent Youngjae's head jolting to the side, blood splattering from his swelling lips.

"Don't say that! Don't you dare say that! I went to prison for you, I have a family with you. You have no right to take that away from me." Yugyeom shakes him in a surge of anger, forcefully gripping his chin.

Youngjae squirms around, blood and tears dripping their way down his bruised, swollen cheek. He coughs up chunks of blood, his body turning rigid when the familiar pain came over him.

"I love you Youngjae-..please don't say that. Please don't leave me." Yugyeom's harsh scent suddenly disperses, his aggressive tone lacing his voice fading into one of sadness and desperation.

Youngjae didn't know how to reply, nor what to say as those words were the last thing he expected to hear pass his lips. He blinks at him, vision blurry and blotchy but he could make out the tears threatening to fall from the alphas usually cold green eyes. Their watery gaze meets, both gorging in the pain of one another. He'd never seen the alpha so vulnerable before, such a alien like change from what he just was moments ago.

"Youngjae! Youngjae!" The deep, panicked voice of his alpha cries in the distance.

Both of them break from their locked trance, looking to the entry of the parking lot to see a short but stocky alpha running towards them in a desperate, protective haze.

"Jackson!" Youngjae screams back, pushing Yugyeom away who was momentarily paralysed in his spot.

Youngjae's sprinting towards his alpha, jumping into his protective arms almost whining when he does. A low, husky growl emanates from Jackson. His yellow eyes boring down on the unknown alpha who threatens his omega. Yugyeom quickly snaps from his daze, blinking at the two of them giving the alpha a deathly glare before sprinting off as he saw more people come slaughtering in when they heard the screams. Jackson fights the drastic urge to chase after him and beat him half to death. But he couldn't, not when he held a shaking, quivering omega in his arms who needed him more so than his fists needed to break the man's bones.

"It's okay, it's okay I'm here. I'm here. I'm going to protect you." Jackson squeezes him tighter, fixing him so his legs sat comfortably around his hips.

♣️

Tae kept pacing the living room, hand gripping aggressively on his phone which stuck to his ear. He kept calling, kept hearing the same answering machine every time. Jimin sat on the couch, leaning against Jungkook who had a firm, gentle arm around his waist. Tae would curse every now and then, glaring at his phone before he'd try again. The room stunk of his panicked scent, Jungkook was doing all he could to mask it with his own to keep Jimin calm.

"Fuck! Why isn't he answering." Tae screams at his phone, scolding it like it is it's fault his father wasn't answering.

"Maybe he's sleeping." Jungkook suggested, hands lacing with Jimin delicate hair as his head laid on his shoulder.

Tae quirks his eyebrow at him, giving him a are you stupid glare. Like his idea was completely insane and unreasonable.

"He's not sleeping, er nurses never sleep." Tae shakes his head, returning his attention back to his phone as he tried again.

"He could be at work, you know he doesn't carry his phone when he's working." Jimin reminded him, rubbing his tired eyes wincing slightly when he touched his bruise.

Tae pauses for a moment, mind churning before he ends the call and goes for a different tactic. He rings the number, calling someone else in hopes they might answer. He chews at his nail, tapping his foot impatiently on the floor.

"Come on, pick up." Tae wines, eyes narrowing while he waits.

"Hello?" A familiar voice bings, Tae immediately perks up.

"Jackson! Thank god." Tae breaths out a sigh of relief, glancing to Jimin who looked intrigued, desperate to hear.

"Tae? Hey bud, sorry didn't look at who was calling. What you doing up so late?" Jackson sounded calm, content he'd obviously hadn't heard the news.

"Listen Jackson where's dad? Is he with you? Is he safe?" Tae cut the small talk, not in the mood to be nice as he really didn't have the time.

"Youngjae? He's just finished work, think he's heading home now. Why? What's wrong?" Jackson's sweet voice turned anxious and worried.

"He's back. Dads back and he's looking for him. He attacked Chim, wanting to know where he was. You need to go find him now! We'll go to his house, see if he's there." Tae barks out orders, needing to know his father was safe and unharmed.

"Shit! Holy shit!" Jackson's voice wavers, spurning breathless like he was running which he now was.

Tae stands ripping at his hair, hearing desperate pants before the line goes dead. He pulls the phone away, staring it then snapping his head to them.

"We need to go." Tae's already moving to the door, on a mission to protect his family.

Jimin's up on his feet, following behind to which we Jungkook immediately shadowing after him. He grabs for Jimin's small hand, feeling it tremble in his grasp. The gesture came comfortingly, Jimin squeezes his hand as they walked.

"Do you think he's found him? He couldn't have right?" Jimin didn't like to think about it, he thought the days of him ruling over their lives was gone.

Tae flicks his green eyes at him, opening up the car to let him in.

"I don't know but all I do know is if he's touched a hair on dads head I'm going to kill him." Tae held no hesitation in his words, meant very word he spoke.

Jimin gets in, Jungkook shuffling beside him as Tae took the front seat. Jungkook brought Jimin close to him, foreign smells stunk up the car and he needed to drown Jimin in his own to get rid of the other smells.

"I'll help you kill him." Jungkook mumbles, Tae snorts at that, giving him a sly glance.

"I think there's going  to be a line." Jimin retorts, he to feeling the same hatred towards his so called father.

The drive to their fathers house was long, treacherous as the tension slowly grew inside the car. All feeling on edge, like something bad was brewing and ready to rear it's ugly head. Tae pulls maybe a little dangerously into his dads driveway, skidding across the wet gravel. Everyone's out in a rushed flash, sprinting to the front door and banging loudly against the hard wood. It pulls open slower than Tae would be liked, leaving a small gap of anxiousness to eat him up. Jackson opens the door looking drained and upset which didn't booed well with him.

"Tae-." Jackson goes to speak but Tae's already pushing past him to get into the house.

"Where's dad?" He barks at him, oozing this offensive scent which he only did when he was stressed or worried.

But what he sees when he enters the living room made his blood run cold. He saw his father sitting slumped on the couch looking battered and bruised like he used to look when he was a kid and his father had just finished beating him.

"Dad!" Jimin cries when he steps in, rushing to his side as Tae follows.

"Baby's? What are you two doing here?" Youngjae didn't want them seeing him like this, not again.

"He did this? I'm going to kill him!" Tae gently rubs the bruised side of his cheek, rubbing his scent on him like he always did after the beatings.

Youngjae whimpers meekly, feeling ashamed he let him hurt him again just like always. He glances to Jimin, eyes widening in shock and sorrow when he noticed the marching bruise taunting his child's cheek.

"Jiminie no! No." He traces his thumb over his bruise, chest pained at the sight.

"I'm fine, it doesn't hurt." Jimin takes his hand, pushing against it in a loving gesture.

"Where the fuck were you?" Tae directs his anger towards Youngjae's new mate, still tightly holding his fathers hand.

"Tae baby it wasn't his fault, it was mine." Youngjae tugs on his sons hand, trying to stop him from lashing out as he does when he's angry.

"No! This isn't your fault, it's never your fault." Tae glances down, stroking his face coating him in his soothing scent.

Youngjae smiles weakly, muscles aching and throat sore as hand prints stained his neck.

"You're supposed to be his mate! Why weren't you protecting him." Tae screams at him, Jackson stood before them feeling guilty enough without Tae's scolding.

"I know, I know I'm failure. It breaks my heart, I've let him down." Jackson hangs his head low, shame and guilt circling.

Tae continues to glare at him, still feeling protective and angry that his fathers been hurt again. Jimin keeps holding his dads hand that held his cheek, feeling him tremble.

"Don't do that Jackson, you didn't let me down. You've done nothing but protect me and love me don't ever think you failed me." Youngjae attempts to stand up, being told off by his sons when he did.

"Tae baby I know you're mad but don't take it out on Jackson, no ones to blame but him." Youngjae takes Tae's hand in his, gently kissing it.

Tae tries to calm down, it struggle as every time he looked at his father anger and pain would boil up inside him. Tae gingerly nods his head, Jimin stands up keeping a firm grasp on his dad.

"Dad it's not safe, you are not allowed out by yourself without us with you." Jimin instructs, knowing full well he wasn't letting him out of his sight.

"Chim I'm not a child, I'll be fine." Youngjae shakes his head, used to their over protectiveness.

"They're right baby, you can't be alone. Not now not ever." Jackson walks up, taking his omega into his arms.

Jungkook admires it all from the sidelines, watching as Jimin became almost like an alpha. Being protective and strong for his omega father. Jimin glances to him, going over to him to snug into his embrace. Jungkook welcomes him in with open arms, taking hold of his waist.

"It's going to be okay Jimishi, I've got you and I'm going to make sure you and your family are safe. I promise." Jungkook squeezes him in, the strong alpha protective scents causing him to drool his own.

Jimin nudges into his embrace, savouring his scent as it was the only one he cared about. Seeing his father like he used to see him when he was a child. It was hard, all he's ever wanted to do it protect his father and when he couldn't it hurt so bad. But having Jungkook there, telling him everything's going to be okay, he'll protect him eased his anxiety just a little bit.
