Romulus finished cooking breakfast for himself and Leah. He took a tray carrying both their food and returned to his room. Leah was still asleep. He sat on a chair beside the bed and began eating breakfast, waiting for Leah to wake up. About ten minutes later, Leah began to wake up slowly. She moaned as she opened her eyes. "W-What happened?" Slowly, she began to sit up and looked around as her sight became more apparent. Then, she stopped as she set her eyes on Romulus. She backed away from him. "Y-You! What did you do to me!?"

He stood up and put his hands in his pockets. "I made you permanently mine."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I marked you."

Leah sat; confusion overwhelmed her. She did not know what he meant or what occurred. She felt a bit of pain in her neck. Leah touched it and felt bumps. That was when she remembered what had happened. Romulus bit her. "You bit me! You bit me!"

Romulus nodded, and a small smile came on his face. " I did. I promised myself I would have waited for your consent, but everything didn't go as planned, so I had to take drastic measures." 

"Why?"

"I promised to take you to your grandmother, but I know you are quite intelligent. I can't risk you trying to run away or for us to get separated." Romulus put the tray in front of Leah. 

"Why was that even necessary?"

"When a werewolf marks his mate, they are connected. They can sense one another even from afar. If you did try to escape, I would be able to know exactly where you are and where you are headed. Also, you won't stop begging me to take you to see your grandmother. What we are about to do is break many laws in our society. It would be only fair if I got what I wanted."

The young woman was silent as she looked at her breakfast. She slowly touched her neck and felt the bite mark. To her surprise, her skin healed but felt a few bumps. Leah knew she was officially Romulus' mate, and there was no way to escape her fate. Yet, she knew that Romulus decided to take risks for her to see her grandmother.

"I know you are mad, but look at the bright side. You will be able to see your grandmother. For now, I need to do some planning. We can't be seen leaving the city. If we were caught the it would lead to drastic consequences, even death. We will leave tonight."
