questions worth asking

Stop right there.

Yes, wait.

She brings her finger to her lips, and it steals away your voice. You don't complain though, you just silently stand there under the stars with her. There was a distance between you both, a few feet apart at most. Pointing up, she presents to you a beautiful sky—there it dazzled with stars that sparkled like glitters. Far away galaxies smeared like paint, they call out to you—to your soul.

Yes, yes yes!

Wanderer, call out her name—

Raaaiii!

The lovely figure before you slowly turns to you. Patiently she smiles, fully aware of what you want. She ushers you to her, close enough you could see her silver nose piercing hanging on top of her angel's bow. Suddenly though, you feel a pull and you realize you're peering into her deadly gaze. There's a fire threatening to swallow you whole. Yet her smile—

Yes, silly—

That damn smile says otherwise.

It was time—

Aight, friend. You wanted to ask me why I love boba, aren't you?

No. I wasn't.

Oh. That's sad.

There are more important stuff to ask.

You sure though?

You sigh.

Yes, Rai

1 || If you were given the chance to change the world, what would you do?

I want to inspire a change of perspective.

The problem nowadays, one that I realized is that we lack the need to care. People live in this belief that if people don't care then they shouldn't either. To them it's a give or take. Some scenarios require, of course, but we can't live under the shadow of such beliefs any longer. Because they think that as long as the problem doesn't affect them, should they care? Now look at what's happening. What has it brought us?

I wanna teach people to learn to care. The world needs more than sympathy. we need empathy. We need to learn that, yes, we definitely need to care for ourselves, but we also need to be selfless at the same time. Spread human kindness, spread love not hate.

We also need to realize that the world does not revolve around us, the world does not only have humans living in it. There are animals and plants that coexist with us. Just as our neighbors coexist with us. We need to take care of them too, those animals and plants. We need to respect their existence. Whether some people believe it or not, the trees keep the atmosphere cool, and the ocean actually produces a lot of the oxygen we breathe. We're an ecosystem that depends on each other, whether or not in a major way.

How can we smile when out there tears are shed?

2 || What do you want to say to your leaders?

Being a leader doesn't mean the country serves you.

It does not at all. You're a servant to the community you've promised to respect and fight for their betterment. You are not there to validate yourself, you were not placed in that position to steal the people's hard-worked money. You have no right to sell us out or to do anything official without our consent or without regard of our opinions. We cooperate with the rules that don't take away our human rights. We will speak out your faults in case you're dumb and not aware of it at all, or warn you that when you kill a helpless old man because he raised a banner of freedom

we will not stay silent.

Silence only lets injustice prevail!

Just. . . remember the people, man.

What you do will affect us.

3 || How do you feel about the BLM movement?

Though I am not black, I know how it feels to be a second priority because of the color of my skin. I know how it feels to be of dark complexion because those of lighter skin tone get more attention, get more benefits.

I used to hate my sun-kissed color, but over time I grew to accept and even love it. And seeing this movement made me realize that it's a domino meant to tumble down a change needed in our society. The discrimination has been shed light, now we only need to wait for the reward while we fight and support those who fight. No one deserves horrible treatment for the color of their skin. Especially that under all those colors

We're just red and white.

I wanna show them my support by stating that I'm on their side and signing petitions. I can't give money, but I could spread awareness of this injustice that's been prevailing too long. We need to stop this hate and violence. Like c'mon, it's 2020 and we're still suffering from racial prejudice and all that crap? People need to stop that. It's just sad that it's just now we're doing this, finally voicing it all out.

What I do hope though, is that it all finally changes this year. That we don't need to fight for this right next year, or fifty years from now. Because this 2020, it's finally gonna stop. Next year, we're gonna celebrate another freedom.

4 || How are you doing in this time of quarantine?

I realized that I'm a person who's done so much self-denial.

When something toxic comes up, especially when it comes to friends, I constantly deny it. I keep telling myself that there is some good in those people who I've grown to care for so much, that unfortunately, I wait until my heart breaks. I hate how I wait for so long I become so hurt I can't bear opening up stuff I used to do with him.

So this quarantine I decided that even friends shouldn't be a way to validate myself. They're people, so they'll never truly understand me and the same for me to them.

Negative shit aside though, I've definitely been drawing more! Been trying doing digital drawing as well (check out my ig raitatsukiko uwu)! Honestly, art is my first love and it's the first creative skill I've turned into a passion before writing. Uni prevents me from drawing as much as I want, but since school is out I managed to draw almost everyday which is a habit I hope to keep even when school comes back uwu

5 || what do you want to say to your fellow youth so that a new era could start? one of equality and love?

One.

Be strong, but don't be bitter.

Just because you lived a hard life, or some things just didn't go the way you want it to, doesn't give you any permission to be salty or bitter towards the people around you. You can cry, you can laugh. But don't ever hurt people to make yourself feel better. Don't be a monster to the people who hold you in high regard. You may have your issues, but that doesn't mean the people around you don't. You could be sarcastic and stuff, but don't bully people. I've made it a goal to be nice to people as possible, but I sometimes can't fake it out if I don't like somebody to be honest, HAHHAHAHAHA xD

It'll be a tough world out there, I'm sure we're realizing that slowly. Adulting ain't easy, because you'll be looking for your place in society. I definitely will tell you that you need to be strong and that no matter how hard things could get, you need to be patient, toughen up, endure, and survive. You could cry and get mad along the way to let off steam, but be careful. WIth yourself and with the people around you. The world isn't gonna be fair. Someday it will be. Just don't expect. Do your best and let fate do the rest.

At the very least, it won't be your fault.

Two.

Speak up.

Remember that silence to the things you see are wrong means siding with those who practice such wrong. You need to speak up, declare your rights, declare what is right. The youth of today need to stand up for tomorrow. I've seen adults and heard their stories, life broke them and their dreams. But that doesn't have to happen to us. If we know what is right, we have no excuse not to speak up. Remember, speak up but avoid violence.

You could take this one a more domestic side as well. To be honest, I've been one to avoid confrontations. I never liked doing it. Being empathetic, I know that people can lie to your face, thus I avoid. I would take their word for it, but their actions after often speak otherwise. Recently I tried being honest with another person. I confronted them you see, and it cost me the friendship. I'm not saying don't confront, you'll have to one day. But what I'm trying to say is, you have to speak up.

It'll help you see who your friends are.

EXPLANATION

This is a challenge made by me and Chloe, hoping that you'll take the time to self-reflect on how to be a better person during this time. Anyone and everyone is free to take part! If you're uncomfortable to do this, it's okay too. But we def would like to read your thoughts on everything that's been happening. We need to be all in this together after all: to fight for a freedom our brothers and sisters need.

These are serious and sensitive questions, so be sure to know what you're saying. Everyone though should NOT ATTACK anyone, okay. Freedom of speech, but that also does not mean you should stay ignorant. As a person belonging to a community, a citizen of the world, you need to know what's going on around you.

The next challenge is more lighthearted, so stay tuned, loves <3
