Chapter 2: Future Androids vs Z Fighters Part Two
As Gohan struggled up the rugged terrain of the plateau, his body a tapestry of bruises and cuts, every step was a battle against pain and exhaustion. He clutched his side where Android Twenty-three's brutal attack had left him wounded, but his determination burned bright. With each step, he repeated to himself, "I have to hurry. I need to find the dragonballs before they kill Piccolo."
His heart sank as he thought of Vegeta, the proud Saiyan warrior who had fallen in battle against the androids' overwhelming power. Gohan's mind raced with worry for his friends still fighting below, especially Piccolo.
Suddenly, a voice pierced through the howling wind from above. Gohan looked up to see Bulma piloting a sleek Capsule Corp aircraft, baby Trunks strapped securely to her back.
"Gohan, get in!" Bulma's voice rang out urgently, tinged with concern.
Gohan wasted no time, summoning his remaining strength to climb the last few rocks and scramble into the aircraft. Bulma's eyes widened in shock and worry as she took in his battered appearance.
"Gohan, what happened? Are you okay?" Bulma asked, her voice trembling with concern.
Gohan shook his head, swallowing hard against the pain. "It's bad. Vegeta... he's gone. The androids... they're too strong. We need the Dragon Balls now, more than ever."
Bulma's face hardened with determination as she handed the Dragon Radar to Gohan so could focus piloting. "We'll find them. Where are they?"
Gohan pointed to the radar screen, showing the clustered blips indicating the Dragon Balls gathered in one location. "Over there, on the north side of the island. Piccolo and the others are still fighting. We have to hurry!"
Bulma nodded grimly, her fingers tightening on the aircraft's controls. "Hold on tight."
The aircraft surged forward, slicing through the air with determination toward the location of the dragonballs. Gohan stared out of the window, his heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and hope. Every second counted, and they were racing against time.
As they approached the designated spot, Gohan's eyes widened in alarm. The sky above the battlefield was darkening, ominous clouds gathering with unnatural speed. It was a telltale sign that someone was using the Dragon Balls.
"Someone is summoning Shenron!" Gohan exclaimed, his voice tight with urgency.
Bulma's jaw tightened as she maneuvered the aircraft closer. "We're almost there. Brace yourself."
Meanwhile, on the battlefield below, Android Twenty-three continued her deadly dance with Piccolo, her movements a fluid blend of precision and power. Despite his Namekian strength and tactical prowess, Piccolo found himself on the defensive against the relentless android.
"You're slower than I expected, Namekian," she taunted, her voice carrying a chilling edge of amusement. She darted in close, her energy crackling around her fists.
Piccolo gritted his teeth, his mind racing as he parried blow after blow. Android Twenty-three's attacks were calculated and merciless, testing his endurance and pushing him to his limits.
"You fight with honor," Piccolo managed through clenched teeth, his body straining under the relentless assault. "But you underestimate us."
Android Twenty-three smirked, effortlessly dodging Piccolo's counterattacks. "Do I? Your kind always had such confidence in your own strength. It's almost pitiful. I assure you you'll end up just like Vegeta."
With a sudden burst of speed, Android Twenty-three closed the distance between them, her hand glowing with energy. Piccolo reacted swiftly, summoning a barrier of ki to deflect the attack. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the ground, cracks spreading like spiderwebs in all directions.
Piccolo's chest heaved as he caught his breath, his gaze locking with Android Twenty-three's unflinching stare. "We won't let you win," he declared, his voice resonating with defiance. "Not while we still stand."
Android Twenty-three's expression darkened slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing her features. "Bold words, Namekian. But words won't save you from destruction."
She lunged forward again, her movements a blur of speed and precision. Piccolo met her strikes head-on, his body moving with the fluid grace of a seasoned warrior. Each clash sent shockwaves through the air, the ground trembling under their feet.
Meanwhile, above the battlefield, Gohan and Bulma closed in on the location of the Dragon Balls. The darkened sky loomed overhead, Shenron's impending arrival a testament to the dire situation below.
"We're here," Bulma announced, her voice steady despite the tension in the air. She brought the aircraft to a hover above a clearing where the seven Dragon Balls lay scattered on the ground.
Gohan's heart raced as he prepared to disembark. "I have to get them before it's too late."
Bulma nodded firmly, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of the androids. "Be careful, Gohan. I'll cover you from up here."
Gohan nodded, steeling himself for what lay ahead. With a burst of ki, he leaped from the aircraft and landed gracefully on the ground below. The Dragon Balls glowed softly in the dim light, their ancient power a beacon of hope in the midst of chaos.
However, what they saw was indeed Shenron and what looked to be three minions. Ones who weren't up to saving the planet like Gohan and Bulma were.
"Who the heck are you guys?!" the boy yelled.
"Whatever you do, don't make a wish!" Bulma added.
Unfortunately for them, it was too late. The Pilaf gang had made their wish... and it was so that they could become young again, although they were turned to the same age as baby Trunks.
Back on the battlefield, Android Twenty-three continued to press her advantage against Piccolo. She taunted him relentlessly, her attacks coming faster and more ferocious with each passing moment.
Piccolo gritted his teeth, his muscles burning with fatigue. He knew he was reaching his limit, but he couldn't afford to falter. The fate of his friends and the island rested on his shoulders.
As Android Twenty-three continued her relentless assault on Piccolo, the Namekian warrior fought with every ounce of strength and determination he could muster. Despite his strategic mind and formidable abilities, he found himself overwhelmed by the android's speed and power. Each blow from Android Twenty-three was like a sledgehammer, pushing Piccolo further and further into a defensive position.
"You're finished," Android Twenty-three taunted, her voice dripping with cruel amusement. She lunged forward with blinding speed, her fist glowing with energy.
Piccolo's senses screamed at him to move, to counter, but fatigue weighed heavily on his limbs. He managed to raise a barrier of ki just in time, deflecting Android Twenty-three's devastating strike. The impact sent shockwaves through the air, cracking the ground beneath them.
Gasping for breath, Piccolo staggered back, his mind racing for a way to turn the tide. Android Twenty-three, however, showed no signs of fatigue or hesitation. She closed the distance again with unnatural speed, launching a barrage of punches and kicks that Piccolo barely managed to evade.
With each passing moment, Piccolo's hope dwindled. He knew he couldn't keep up this defense forever. Android Twenty-three was toying with him, testing his limits before delivering the final blow.
"You're stronger than I anticipated," Android Twenty-three admitted with a twisted smile, her eyes gleaming with malice. "But it's time to end this."
Before Piccolo could react, Android Twenty-three disappeared from his sight. He spun around just in time to see her reappear behind him, her hand glowing with a deadly energy blast. With a merciless laugh, she unleashed the blast directly at Piccolo's back.
The explosion rocked the battlefield, sending debris flying in all directions. Smoke and dust filled the air, obscuring Piccolo's form from view. Android Twenty-three stood amidst the destruction, her smirk widening as she waited for the smoke to clear.
When the dust settled, Piccolo lay crumpled on the ground, his body bruised and broken. His chest rose and fell in shallow breaths, but he lacked the strength to rise again. Android Twenty-three approached slowly, her footsteps echoing ominously against the silence that had fallen over the battlefield.
"You fought valiantly," Android Twenty-three remarked, her voice devoid of any empathy. She crouched down beside Piccolo, her hand crackling with energy. "But in the end, you were no match for us."
Piccolo's eyes narrowed defiantly as he struggled to speak. "You... won't... get away with this..."
Android Twenty-three chuckled darkly. "Oh, but we already have. Your planet belongs to us now."
With a final surge of energy, Android Twenty-three's hand descended, unleashing a devastating blast that consumed Piccolo's body in a flash of light. The blast left nothing but smoke and ashes in its wake, marking the end of one of Earth's greatest defenders. For a while, she stood there laughing. Laughing at the way he died in what she considered, a pathetic way.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the island, Krillin fought desperately against Androids Seventeen and Eighteen. His movements were swift and precise, a testament to his years of training and battle experience. Despite the odds stacked against him, Krillin refused to give in.
Android Seventeen grinned as he effortlessly dodged Krillin's attacks. "You're persistent, I'll give you that," he remarked casually, his voice carrying a mocking edge. "But you're outmatched, little human."
Krillin gritted his teeth, his brow furrowed in determination. "I won't let you destroy this planet," he retorted defiantly. He lunged forward with a rapid series of punches and kicks, aiming for any opening he could find.
Android Eighteen scoffed, her arms crossed as she watched the battle unfold. "Pathetic," she commented with a smirk. "You really think you can stop us?"
Krillin's heart pounded in his chest as he continued to fight, his mind racing for a strategy that could turn the tide. The androids' teamwork and relentless attacks pushed him to his limits, but he refused to back down.
Suddenly, a powerful energy blast erupted from Android Seventeen's hand, catching Krillin off guard. The blast slammed into him with staggering force, sending him crashing into the ground several feet away. Pain shot through his body, but Krillin forced himself to his feet, shaking off the impact.
"You're not going to defeat us," Krillin growled through gritted teeth, his fists clenched in determination. He focused his ki, summoning his remaining strength for another round of attacks.
Android Eighteen laughed mockingly. "Keep dreaming, human," she taunted, her voice dripping with disdain. She moved with graceful ease, her movements almost leisurely compared to Krillin's frenzied attacks.
Krillin's heart sank as he realized the futility of his efforts. The androids were too powerful, their stamina seemingly limitless. He ducked and weaved, narrowly avoiding Android Seventeen's energy blasts while trying to find an opening to strike.
In the midst of their battle, Android Twenty-three approached, her aura radiating sumenace. "Enough playing around," she called out to Androids Seventeen and Eighteen. "I'm going to finish him."
With a nod of understanding, Android Seventeen and Eighteen closed in on Krillin from both sides. He tried to defend himself, but their combined assault was overwhelming. Android Seventeen delivered a devastating kick that sent Krillin staggering backward, while Android Eighteen followed up with a series of lightning-fast strikes that left Krillin reeling.
Krillin fought valiantly, but it was clear that he was outnumbered and outmatched. Android Seventeen and Eighteen's coordinated attacks left him with no room to breathe, no chance to mount a counteroffensive. His energy reserves dwindled rapidly as he desperately tried to keep up with their relentless assault.
"Say goodbye," Android Twenty-three delivered a final, decisive blow, Krillin's vision blurred and darkness closed in around him. He felt himself falling, his body hitting the ground with a heavy thud. Pain radiated through every limb, but he couldn't muster the strength to rise again.
Android Seventeen stood over Krillin's fallen form, a smirk playing on his lips. "Weakling," he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "Just like the rest of them."
Android Eighteen crossed her arms, looking down at Krillin with cold indifference. "Another one bites the dust," she remarked casually, her gaze flicking dismissively over his motionless body.
"You monsters!" Yamcha stood not too far behind either Tien. "You killed him too."
"We'll make you pay for that!" Tien got into a stance.
Both were bloody and broken but their fighting spirit was undeniable. Unfortunately for the rest of them, they'd too meet their end at the hands of the evil androids.
All but Gohan had been mercilessly murdered. He was all that was left.
The androids shared a brief glance of satisfaction before turning away from Krillin's prone form. They had more important matters to attend to—ensuring the complete domination of Earth and the eradication of any remaining resistance.
"We've done enough for today," Seventeen kicked a piece of rubble. "Let's get out of here."
"Yeah, I'm kinda hungry," Eighteen nodded.
"Same here. Let's go grab something," Twenty-three said before they all flew into the air.
Bodies laid around and the city was in ruins. Because the dragonballs became inert at the destruction of Piccolo, Gohan and Bulma flew back into the battlefield, hoping that at least one of their friends were alive.
Gohan's heart pounded heavily in his chest as he landed amidst the devastation that once was a vibrant city. Smoke curled lazily in the air, and the acrid scent of destruction stung his nostrils. Bodies lay scattered around him—Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu and the civilians among them. Unfortunately, he couldn't find the bodies of Piccolo nor Vegeta. Each one bore the marks of a fierce battle, their wounds a testament to their bravery and sacrifice.
"No..." Gohan's voice trembled as he knelt beside Krillin's lifeless form. His friend's face was frozen in a peaceful expression, belying the violence that had taken his life. Gohan gently closed Krillin's eyes, a lone tear trailing down his cheek.
Turning to Tien and Yamcha, Gohan felt a crushing weight settle upon his chest. Tien's stoic expression in death mirrored his unwavering determination in life. Yamcha and Chiaotzu laid nearby, their bodies still and cold, the spark of mischief forever extinguished from their eyes.
"Why..." Gohan choked on the word, unable to comprehend the senseless loss before him. Anguish gripped his heart like a vice, threatening to suffocate him. He clutched his fists, his knuckles turning white with the intensity of his emotions.
Memories flooded Gohan's mind—the training sessions, the battles fought side by side, the moments of laughter amid the chaos. Tien's and Chiaotzu's unwavering resolve, Yamcha's camaraderie, Krillin's unyielding spirit—they had been his mentors, his friends, his family.
A roar of grief tore from Gohan's throat, echoing across the desolate landscape. It was a primal cry, a lamentation for lives cut short, for futures stolen away. Tears streamed down his cheeks unchecked, mingling with the dirt and blood that stained his face.
In the midst of his despair, a flicker of energy stirred within Gohan. His grief, his rage, his helplessness coalesced into a swirling storm of emotions. His muscles tensed, his aura pulsating with an otherworldly glow. Without conscious thought, Gohan's golden hair began to shimmer and stand on end, the unmistakable transformation of a Super Saiyan.
The ground beneath him trembled as Gohan rose to his feet, his entire being engulfed in a corona of golden energy. The air crackled around him, charged with the raw power of his emotions. The Super Saiyan transformation surged through him like a tempest, granting him strength born from anguish, resolve forged from loss.
"I won't let them get away with this!" Gohan's voice rang out, his tone a mixture of sorrow and defiance. He cast his gaze skyward, the shimmering aura of his Super Saiyan form illuminating the devastation around him. "They killed them! They killed everyone that I loved!"
"Gohan..." Bulma stood nearby, astonished by the power surrounding him.
Both she and him had tears flowing down their faces. Such a day they would never forget. The day... the androids would wreak havoc upon the Earth.
