Chapter 49

What, you thought that was their dream?! No! They're ninja, not parents. Well, not yet, anyway. Here is their REAL dream

The night was dark and filled with an unsettling silence as Mia and Nelson found themselves in the middle of a dense, fog-covered forest. The air was thick with tension, and a sense of impending doom hung over them. They glanced at each other, confusion and fear evident in their eyes.

"What is this place?" Mia whispered, clutching Nelson's arm.

Nelson shook his head, trying to make sense of their surroundings. "I don't know, but something feels... off."

As they ventured deeper into the forest, they heard the distant sounds of battle—clashing swords and the occasional cry of pain. The sounds grew louder and more chaotic with each step, and the fog seemed to part, revealing a horrifying sight: their friends, the other ninjas, were engaged in a fierce battle, but something was terribly wrong. Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, and Lloyd were fighting with a dark, malevolent energy surrounding them. Their eyes glowed with an eerie, unnatural light, and their expressions were twisted with rage.

"Mia! Nelson!" a familiar voice called out. It was Izzie and Mateo , rushing toward them with urgency. "Thank goodness we found you!"

Mia's heart pounded in her chest. "What's happening? Why are they like this?"

Izzie looked grim. "They've been corrupted by a dark force. We're trying to help, but we need all the help we can get."

Nelson nodded resolutely. "We're with you. Let's save our friends."

The battle was intense, with Mia and Nelson fighting alongside Izzie, Mateo, and the rest. The corrupted ninjas were powerful and relentless, their attacks fueled by the dark energy that had overtaken them. Mia and Nelson fought bravely, using their skills and elemental powers to try and subdue their friends without harming them.

At one point, Mia found herself facing off against Jay, her own brother. His lightning attacks were wild and uncontrolled, and his eyes, once filled with kindness, were now cold and distant. "Jay, it's me, Mia! Snap out of it!" she pleaded, dodging a bolt of lightning.

Jay hesitated for a moment, a flicker of recognition in his eyes, but the dark energy quickly reasserted itself. "Stay back!" he snarled, launching another attack.

Nelson was locked in a fierce struggle with Kai, whose fiery attacks were more intense than ever. "Kai, this isn't you!" Nelson shouted, trying to break through the darkness. "Fight it!"

Kai's response was a roar of rage, his flames burning hotter. Nelson barely managed to deflect the attacks, his heart aching for his friend.

" Mia, look out!" Mateo screeched, dodging another one of Lloyd's attacks.

" Lo-gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!" Logan yelled from the other side of the battlefield, transforming into his small blue monster and tripping Nya.

" Logan! Be careful!" Cooper yelled, kicking Cole in the stomach, then running to Logan.

" Yo, thanks, dude." He said.

" Coop, Lo-lo! One evil ninja order coming right up!" Mia called, kicking Zane to them.

" Where's this one headed?" Cooper asked.

" The dump." Mia replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Mateo dodged Lloyd's next attack, his heart pounding. "We need to turn the tide," he muttered, glancing around for any advantage.

Spotting Zane, he grinned and pulled out Z- Blob. "Time to make things interesting," he said, throwing the blob at Zane. Z expanded, engulfing Zane and transforming into a hulking, monstrous figure. Zane struggled within, his movements slowed by the gooey substance.

Meanwhile, Mia summoned her dream sand. It swirled around her, coalescing into the shape of a majestic horse. The creature solidified, its form shimmering with a golden hue. Mia leaped onto its back, steering it toward the fray.

"Mia, that's amazing!" Nelson shouted, his eyes wide with admiration.

"Let's ride!" Mia urged, charging forward on her sand horse. The creature's hooves thundered as it galloped, creating a path through the chaos.

Mateo, seeing his chance, directed the Z-Blob monster toward the corrupted ninjas. "Everyone, get ready!" he called, coordinating their next move.

As Mia and her sand horse charged, they drew the attention of the dark ninjas. Jay launched another lightning attack, but Mia deftly dodged, her horse moving with surprising agility. "Jay, come on! You can fight this!" she shouted, hoping to reach him.

Nelson, meanwhile, kept Kai at bay, using his own elemental powers to shield himself from the fiery onslaught. "Mateo, now!" he yelled.

Mateo nodded, commanding the Z-Blob monster to engage the corrupted ninjas. The monster lunged, its massive arms wrapping around Lloyd and Nya, immobilizing them.

Mia took advantage of the distraction, guiding her sand horse to intercept Cole. She used her elemental power to create a swirling vortex of sand, disorienting him. "Hang in there, Cole! We're going to save you!" she cried out, her voice filled with determination.

Logan, still in his blue monster form, tripped Nya again, giving Izzie and Cooper a chance to tackle her. "Great job, Logan!" Cooper cheered, securing Nya with energy bindings.

With the corrupted ninjas momentarily subdued, Mia and Nelson regrouped with their friends. "We've got to find the source of this corruption and destroy it," Mia said, determination etched on her face.

Mateo pointed toward a dark, pulsating obelisk in the distance. "There! That's where the dark energy is coming from!"

Without hesitation, Mia and Nelson led the charge toward the obelisk, their friends following closely behind. As they approached, the air grew colder, and the sense of dread intensified. The obelisk towered above them, radiating an ominous glow.

"We need to destroy it, now!" Mia shouted, her sand horse rearing up.

Nelson nodded, focusing his energy. "Let's do this."

Together, they unleashed their combined powers, striking the obelisk with everything they had. The obelisk cracked, dark energy spilling out like smoke. The ground trembled, and with a final, deafening roar, the obelisk shattered, its dark energy dissipating into the air.

They turned, their breaths batted. Did it work?

The ninja remained still for a few seconds. Then, their eyes were engulfed in a dark hue of red, and they pulled out sharp swords which glistened in the sun.

" Oh, great." Mia groaned. " That did nothing."

" Here we go again." Nelson added, shaking his head.

Just then, Cooper sprang into action, summoning his car. The sleek, high-tech vehicle appeared out of nowhere, and he and Logan jumped in without hesitation. The engine roared to life as they sped toward the corrupted ninjas, creating a distraction.

Izzie, not missing a beat, created her bunny. The giant, fluffy creature hopped onto the battlefield, providing a whimsical yet effective means of transportation and a formidable ally in the fight.

Nelson, thinking quickly, conjured a net—a butterfly net, to be precise. He held it up, feeling slightly ridiculous. "Well, it's better than nothing," he muttered.

Mia, riding her sand horse, nodded encouragingly. "Use what you've got, Nelson. Let's go!"

As Cooper and Logan zoomed around the battlefield in the car, drawing the ninjas' attention, Izzie and her bunny bounded over to the fray, creating chaos and confusion among their corrupted friends.

Nelson charged forward, wielding his butterfly net with determination. He managed to ensnare Zane, who was caught off guard by the unexpected attack. "Gotcha!" Nelson exclaimed, pulling the net tight.

Mia, meanwhile, used her sand powers to create barriers and traps, trying to slow down the other ninjas. She maneuvered her horse with agility, dodging attacks and countering with her own.

Kai, eyes blazing with dark energy, lunged at Nelson, his sword glinting menacingly. Nelson barely managed to dodge, his heart racing. "Kai, snap out of it!" he shouted, trying to reach his friend.

Jay and Cole were locked in combat with Izzie and her bunny, their movements swift and deadly. Izzie directed her bunny to create a wall of fluff, momentarily blocking their attacks. "We need to figure out how to break this hold on them!" she yelled over the chaos.

Mia, steering her horse toward the center of the battlefield, had an idea. "Guys! We need to combine our powers again, but this time, let's focus on our friends directly. Maybe we can purge the darkness from them!"

Nelson nodded, readying his net. "Let's do it!"

" We got Lloyd and Zane!" Cooper called, high-fiving Logan.

" And I've got Nya!" Mateo added, steering Z to her.

Izzie urged her bunny forward, positioning herself near Jay and Cole. "On my count! One, two, three!"

Together, they unleashed a surge of combined elemental energy, directing it toward their corrupted friends. The energy enveloped the ninjas, shimmering with a brilliant light. The dark red hue in their eyes flickered, then faded, as the dark energy was forced out of their bodies.

And then in it went again.

" Aw, can't we have a break?!" Mia moaned.

An idea struck into Mateo's head. "What if we round them all up in one spot? That might work!" he called out.

Nelson nodded in agreement. "Worth a shot! Let's corral them together!"

Cooper revved the engine of his car, and Logan transformed into his small blue monster form, ready to help. Izzie mounted her bunny, and Nelson gripped his butterfly net tightly.

"Alright, let's round them up!" Mia shouted, urging her sand horse forward.

The team spread out, using their powers and quick thinking to drive the corrupted ninjas toward the center of the battlefield. Nelson deftly used his net to snare Zane once more, dragging him toward the gathering point. Izzie's bunny created barriers, preventing the ninjas from scattering.

Mateo used his Z-Blob monster to push Jay and Cole into the circle, the gooey creature wrapping around them to hold them in place. "Keep going!" he urged, directing the monster to contain the ninjas.

Mia and her sand horse maneuvered around Kai and Lloyd, herding them toward the center. "Come on, guys, just a little closer!" she urged, creating sand walls to funnel them in.

Finally, with a coordinated effort, they managed to gather all the corrupted ninjas in one spot. They stood together, surrounded by a circle of sand, goo, and barriers.

"Now, everyone together!" Mateo called. "Focus your powers on them again!"

Mia, Nelson, Izzie, Cooper, and Logan joined forces, channeling their elemental energies into a concentrated beam of light. The energy surged forward, enveloping the ninjas once more. This time, the combined power was more intense, the light growing brighter and more powerful. Mateo, dream crafting a vacuum, turned it on the suck in the evil.

The dark red hue in the ninjas' eyes flickered and then faded completely as the dark energy was forcefully expelled from their bodies. The ninjas collapsed to the ground, their eyes returning to their normal colors.

Jay groaned, sitting up with Mia's help. "What happened? I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare."

Nelson, helping Kai to his feet, gave him a reassuring pat on the back. "You're back, buddy. We broke the dark energy's hold on you."

Kai rubbed his head, wincing. "Thanks, man. I owe you one."

As the ninjas regained their senses, Izzie and Mateo approached, smiling with relief. "We did it," Izzie said, her voice filled with triumph. "We saved them."

Nelson nodded, looking around at their friends, who were now safe and themselves again. "Yeah, we did. Together."

Suddenly, the ground shook, and the ominous presence of the obelisk returned, but now it was cracked and unstable. "We need to finish it off," Nelson said.

Mia and the others nodded, their resolve firm. They gathered their elemental powers one last time, directing them at the weakened obelisk. The combined force of their energies shattered the obelisk completely, the dark energy dispersing into the air.

As the forest began to fade, Mia and Nelson found themselves waking up, back in their own beds. They looked at each other, the memory of the nightmare still fresh in their minds.

"That was intense," Mia whispered, her voice trembling slightly.

Nelson nodded, pulling her into a comforting embrace. "But we made it through. And we'll always be there for our friends, no matter what."

This was all dream. Not real.

Well, for the ninja, anyway. For Mia and the other Dreamers, it was true. Watch Dreamzzz for a description on what I mean.
