Chapter 3
Back at the Monastery, a different kind of chaos unfolded. Gone was the focused energy of the library, replaced by a frenzy of activity fueled by worry and a desperate need to help Lloyd.
Rumi, ever the dedicated friend, sat by Lloyd's bedside. Her normally vibrant eyes were red-rimmed from tears, but she held Lloyd's hand tightly, whispering words of comfort and encouragement. Every twitch of his fingers, every flutter of his eyelids, sent a spark of hope through her.
Meanwhile, Zane paced the training grounds like a caged tiger. He cradled his father's journal, his brow furrowed in concentration. The ritual seemed straightforward enough, but the ancient dialect and the lack of specific ingredients made him nervous. Could they really pull this off? Could this strange ritual be the key to breaking Lloyd's coma?
His train of thought was interrupted by a blur of blue and red as Jay and Cole came crashing into the training grounds, narrowly avoiding a collision with Zane.
"Woah, slow down there, Speedy McSpeedster!" Cole exclaimed, rubbing his head. "What's the rush?"
Jay, breathless and frantic, stammered, "We... we need to find something! Some... special tea! Zane, your father mentioned a special tea in his journal, right?"
Zane blinked, surprised. "A tea? No, I don't recall any tea in the ritual notes. Are you sure you read it right?"
"Maybe not the ritual, but somewhere!" Jay insisted, waving a crumpled piece of paper. "I found this loose page in the library, looked like it fell out of your dad's book. It talks about a 'Moonpetal Bloom Tea,' supposed to have healing properties."
A flicker of hope ignited in Zane's eyes. "Moonpetal Bloom Tea? That's incredibly rare, almost mythical! But if it does have healing properties..."
"Then maybe it can help Lloyd!" Cole finished the sentence, his voice filled with newfound optimism.
"But where do we even find such a tea?" Rumi's voice echoed from the doorway, her expression hopeful despite the worry etched on her face.
Jay, ever the resourceful one, grinned. "Well, the page mentioned it grows high in the Cloud Kingdom mountains. Apparently, it thrives in the moonlight."
A collective sigh escaped their lips. The Cloud Kingdom was a treacherous journey, even for seasoned ninjas. But for a rare tea that could potentially save their friend, the risk was worth taking.
Suddenly, a mischievous glint appeared in Jay's eyes. "Hey, Zane," he said, nudging the nindroid. "You can fly, right? Maybe you can take a quick trip and get this tea for us? Ninja speed, and all that?"
Zane chuckled, a genuine smile playing on his lips for the first time since Lloyd's collapse. "Alright, Jay. Just because you asked nicely. But be careful here while I'm gone. And Rumi," he added, turning to his friend, "keep an eye on Lloyd. We'll be back as soon as we can."
With that, Zane activated his thrusters and soared into the sky, a beacon of hope cutting through the twilight. Back at the Monastery, the frantic activity continued. Jay and Cole began preparing for their journey to the Cloud Kingdom, gathering supplies and mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. Rumi, with a newfound determination, continued her vigil by Lloyd's bedside, her unwavering spirit a testament to their unwavering friendship.
Though separated by distance and facing different challenges, they were all united by a single goal – to save Lloyd. The fate of their friend hung in the balance, and they wouldn't rest until they brought him back.
One hour later....
Jay and Cole, fueled by nervous energy and a desperate hope to help Lloyd, were a blur of motion. Cole hefted a heavy backpack onto his shoulder, its contents a jumble of climbing gear, rope, and emergency rations.
"Are you sure we have everything?" Jay asked, frantically double-checking his own bag. "First aid kit? Check. Snacks? Check. Cloud Kingdom travel permission... oh shoot, we forgot the permission!"
Cole rolled his eyes. "Relax, Jay. We don't exactly have time to fill out official paperwork right now. Besides, who's going to stop a couple of ninjas on a life-saving mission?"
"Well, maybe some uptight Cloud Kingdom guard who takes their mountain regulations a little too seriously?" Jay countered, his voice laced with worry.
Suddenly, a loud whooshing sound filled the air. They both looked up to see a flurry of bags rushing through the air. Clothes, food, water, toys, scrolls.... all packed into the bags. Even Blackie was in her traveling bag, meowing in pure joy.
Jay and Cole exchanged confused glances. "What the...?" Cole muttered, watching them disappear.
" Eh, Mia must be doing something." Jay replied nonchalantly, returning back to his packing.
" I hope you're right." Cole muttered as he turned is back to him
