What goes on in his head?
Haeun would turn around from her desk averting her attention from her books to her friend once in a while to find him doing something unexpected each time.
This time, he was lying on her bed, licking the remains of cheese balls from his fingers. His brows were furrowed and his cheese-covered finger was in between his lips as he made sounds of disapproval. She followed his eyes to the TV to figure out what was so unpleasant.
"Kook what's wrong?" she asked, unable to see the problem with a cooking video. Two years together, but she still failed to see things from his point of view.
"He added too much water. Now it will taste bland." One could mistake the anger on his face for something else, something more serious than food, but it was Jeon Jungkook. There's hardly anything that matters to him more than food. Quite understandable, tho.
"Don't you have anything else to do?" she asked, as the boy welcomed himself into her apartment without an invitation and had been doing things she couldn't wrap her head around. At some point, he was doing push-ups while balancing the Shooky plushie on his head.
"Nope," he said, popping the p, "Jimin hyung isn't back from Busan, and Yoongi hyung is at his friend's house."
Her ears perked up upon hearing Yoongi's name. "How is he doing these days? Does he have a girlfriend?"
Jungkook threw a pillow at her face. "Stay away from him."
Her eyes widen comically. "It's not like I'm going to swallow him whole. I just asked about him. What's the big deal?"
"Does he have a girlfriend?" Jungkook mimicked her. He knew very well just how much his friend fancied Yoongi. He was her bias after all.
"Jeon Jungkook!" she threw the pillow back at him.
"Even if he is single, he won't be interested in a girl who sings SpongeBob SquarePants in her sleep," he said, dodging the pillow. He was surprised when he heard her mumbling the words to that song when she had passed out from sleep in the passenger seat of his car. He found it terribly adorable, but he would not say it out loud.
"Hey! That was just one time, okay?" she couldn't help but adoringly stare at the boy who was laughing stupidly like a manic. He's still a baby, she thought. "Anyway, I already have someone I like. I will try to win Yoongi in another lifetime."
This time, his ears perked up. "Who is he?" he sat up straight, taking the pillow in his lap.
"Someone I'm going on a date with this Friday," she wiggled her brows smugly. He had teased her countless times for being single since the beginning of their friendship. Now she was going to throw this at his face as much as possible.
"I bet he is some weird guy from your class," he said, face scrunching in disgust.
"No, I met him online. But, hey! What's wrong with guys of my class?" she was overtly offended.
"Everyone's like you, boring," he said in indifference. She clutched her heart dramatically.
"Whatever. At least I won't be spending the Saturday at my group-mate's house rewatching the same anime movie," she said, sticking her tongue out.
"I. Love. Those. Movies." he narrowed his eyes aggressively, "and I bet I will have more fun with Hobi hyung than you will with your prey."
"My prey?" her eyebrow shot up in question, "I think you meant to say my future boyfriend."
This time, he stuck his tongue out.

"Jungkook-ah, you know I can't understand a word you're saying?" Namjoon stopped the younger guy from his mindless blabbering.
He sighed. "Only a broken heart can speak the tongue of another."
"What are you, Kookspeare?" Namjoon squinted his eyes for better understanding. "Just spill."
"She is going on a date, hyung!" Jungkook said in disbelief, "With a real guy!"
"You had it coming, buddy," Namjoon shrugged his shoulders, munching on the chips, "she is a beautiful girl. It's about time she starts going out with people. Mind you, it would've happened a lot earlier if only you weren't hovering around her like a bee, stinging all the boys away from her."
Jungkook's poor attempt at defense. "I did not."
"Right," Namjoon rolled his eyes, "so you gonna do something about the date?"
"I can't sit still doing nothing, can I?" Jungkook grinned.
Namjoon's alert mode was on. "Whatever you are thinking of doing, Kook, I must say I'm not with you on it."
"I have a master plan," he sprung to his feet in glee, "and you're helping me."
_______
What kind of guys does Haeun like?
Min Yoongi.
Jungkook had it all settled. Now, there was no chance his friend would attend her date, let alone fall in love with him.
"Jungkook-ah, what's the emergency? I have to be at the studio in 20 minutes," Yoongi grumbled. He was being dragged by an excited bunny into his apartment.
"My shower broke," Junkook attempted his best puppy eyes, "and in this time of crisis, I could only think of reaching out to you."
"Save the theatrics," Yoongi pulled his arm free, rolling up his sleeves, "you couldn't bother calling the plumber, yeah?"
Although his cat-like brother complained, he did eventually get inside the small glass partition inside the bathroom. On cue, Namjoon was in his position. "Remind me why I'm here again?"
"To use your Herculean strength to hold the door close until I say so, and also to save me from the aftermath."
"I doubt anyone can save us from Yoongi hyung's wrath," Namjoon sighed, "the things I do in the name of leadership."
Yoongi tinkered a little with the shower, and it popped free from its holder, resulting in water bursting out from the pipe. He tried to forcefully put the thing back inside, but it was being pushed out by the force of water. "Now, I'm all wet! I can't go to the studio like this," he tried the tabs, yet the water kept pouring out, "call the plumber. It's not working. Let's get out from here first."
They both were now completely drenched in water, standing in the small space under the shower. "Why is the door not opening," Jungkook asked innocently.
"What?" Yoongi smacked his hand away, trying to open the door himself, "is this a prank, Jeon?"
"What?! I'm also stuck inside with you," Jungkook said, using that fact as his shield, doing his best to maintain the innocence in his big doe eyes.
Yoongi glared at him. "Great, now we have to stay in this pouring shower rain until somebody fixes the door open?"
"Not how I was planning to spend my precious time," Jungkook sighed dramatically, "seems like the universe has different plans."
"If this turns out to be one of your stupid games, I swear I will do something you will regret forever," Yoongi warned, pulling his phone out to call the repair shop.
"Wait, hyung. I got this," Jungkook typed something on the screen of his wet phone, "he will be here in 10 minutes."
Oh, how the 10 minutes turned into 20 and then into another 10. Junkook was feeling slightly guilty when he saw Yoongi shiver a little under the constant waterfall.
"Where's the water keep coming from," Yoongi groaned, pushing his hair back for the hundredth time.
"Oh, he is here," Jungkook said, a little loudly, sending his message across the door to his current partner in crime.
Namjoon pushed the door open with a great show of putting a lot of strength. "You texted Joon? What about the shower then?" Yoongi asked baffled.
"I figured I could just turn the lever off from the kitchen in the meantime. I'll call someone later. Thank you for the trouble. You can leave now," Jungkook pushed Yoongi out the door, putting a towel on his head, "see you at the studio!"
Namjoon hurried behind. "We have to hurry. They are waiting for us," he pulled Yoongi towards the car with him, without giving the man any time to have a word with the youngest.
"I could've borrowed some clothes from him at least," Yoongi mumbled, shaking the water off of himself before getting in the car.
______
Something was strange.
In no dimension, could Jeon Jungkook ask her help for this and ask her so nicely.
She read the texts again.
Kookiebug: Sorry for bothering you dear friend, but I need your help. Yoongi hyung is quite sick and as you already know with his family being far away he has no one but his members to look after him.
Kookiebug: All the other guys are busy with practice today, so I'm the only one at home. If you could join me in aiding my sick grandpa-like-friend then it would help me a lot.
Drama queen, she rolled her eyes.
Kookiebug: Plus, I would let you borrow my car sometime.
Whatever Jungkook was cooking, she could not say no to his request. After all, it was about Yoongi who was sick, and she wouldn't mind a long drive in his car. She had to apologize to her date a couple of times for the sudden cancellation of plans, but he was a rather understanding guy, who assured her that they could reschedule.
"Haeun?" Yoongi called out with a sore throat, surprised to see her at his door.
"Hey, Yoongi." she said awkwardly, "Kook, called me. He said you were not well and that he needed my help to look after you. He must be on his way too."
Yoongi scratched his head, smiling a little. "Come in." She noticed how pale and tired he looked.
It wasn't their first time meeting, but they only knew each other through Jungkook so it was quite awkward in the beginning.
What began as a short exchange of words in the name of politeness, turned into a very friendly chat. She was surprised to find herself being so comfortable with Yoongi and vice versa. It was like their personalities were blending perfectly.
Perhaps, missing her date wasn't so bad after all.
