Chapter 8 : Thank You So Much Kashi-nii!
"Now, now, you shouldn't jinx yourself. Don't peek, Ara." Kakashi said softly, causing her to pout.
But her pout disappeared as soon as she felt something cold against her neck.
"There. You may see it now."
Slowly, Karasu opened her eyes, and gasped. It was a necklace.
The chains were made of silver. But the pendant was the thing that amazes everyone.
It was shaped like a crow, made of a black diamond. The crow is surrounded by little roses made of red crystals.
"It's so beautiful...." She muttered, tracing her fingers along the pendant.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it!" She exclaimed as she hugged Kakashi tightly. "Thank you so much, Kashi-nii!"
"Kashi-nii?"
"From now on, you will be my big bro!" Ara said. Kakashi chuckled and ruffled her hair.
"Alright then. If you say so, imouto."

"Now, the cake!" Karasu said, as she cut the small cake into 4 pieces, and gave it to the 3 boys, while she took one for herself.
"Just open your damn mask, Kashi-nii."
"No cussing, Ara."
"You're not my father."
"But I'm your big brother, right?"
"Fine."
"That's my girl..." Kakashi said with a closed-eye smile, as he put his cake on the table.
Itachi took a bite of the cake. His eyes widen in shock, and he immediately slammed the cake on the table, before holding his breath and swallow the remaining food in his mouth with a pained expression on his face.
"Shisui-san... I suggest you... Not to cook anything ever again..." Itachi muttered, as he grabbed a glass of water and drink all of it in an instant.
"What's wrong?" Shisui asked back, taking a big bite of his own cake. He immediately covered his mouth and ran to the bathroom.
"He made it with salt." Itachi stated. Ara began to laugh, followed by Kakashi.
"So we won't have any fun with the cake, huh?" Itachi asked. Karasu smirked.
"We will." She stated, before she took the white cream and rubbed it onto Itachi's face.
Itachi did the same to Kakashi, who grinned and do the same to the younger Uchiha.
Then they realized that Karasu is nowhere in sight.
In fact, she had took a knife and cut the cake into much smaller pieces. When Shisui entered the room, a small piece of cake was thrown and landed on his face.
And so the war continues.
*/*\*/*\*
"That was fun." Karasu stated. She was sitting on the couch, with Kakashi next to her. The 2 Uchihas had just gone home, after all of them finished the cake war, cleaning the kitchen, then took a shower.
"Say, Ara-chan," Kakashi started, turning at the girl, "Why don't you remind Kushina-san and Minato-san about your birthday? Aren't you sad that they forget it?" He asked.
Karasu smiled as she looked down. "It's fine. I'm used to it."
He frowned, but stayed silent as he watched her slowly braided her white hair.
"If I tell you about my old family, will you tell me about your past, Kashi-nii?" She asked all of sudden.
Kakashi sighed, closing his eyes. "You really want to know?" He asked back.
She nodded, causing him to take a deep breath. "Alright then."
Karasu smiled softly, her eyes filled with sadness as she leaned on Kakashi's shoulder.
"I never know my mother. She died on labor giving birth to me. That's why Otou-sama named me Karasu. A crow. The bird who brings death."
"I lived in a group of strange peoples. None of them have any blood relations to me, except my father. But they were very kind to me."
"Don't you miss them?" Kakashi asked as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"I do. And I can come back if I want. But I don't want to leave Konoha. This is the first time I feel really loved. It's the first time I've ever live like a normal girl. I don't want to change that. And.... I can't bear seeing his eyes at me again..."
Kakashi can only stare at her in pity.
However, he managed to hide it. He told her his story, nevertheless.
*/*\*/*\*
Karasu entered her room. She had just finished hearing Kakashi's story. She has to admit, it was a sad story.
Then her eyes widened.
On her bed, there's a big box, with ribbons attached on it.
She locked her door, and rushed onto the bed. She untied the ribbons, and opened the box.
She can feel tears slipped out of her eyes as she bit her lip, trying to hold back her sobs.
In it, there's a big blue shark plushie, an origami flower, a wooden scorpion, a red rose, a small snake keychain, and some scrolls.
There's a note in the box. It reads:
"Happy Birthday, Ara-chan. Hope you will always be happy. Stay strong, be a great kunoichi. We hope we can meet again. Sweet dreams, Little Crow. ~The Red Clouds"
Karasu smiled.
Just then, she heard Yūsha's voice in her mind.
-Get on my back. I'll take you to a special place you would like to see.-
Slowly, she nodded and did as what she was told to.
Yūsha jumped out of the window, and walked calmly exiting the village.
Ara's body tensed as she felt familiar chakra nearby. She get off the tiger's back immediately.
-Go on. Find him.- Yūsha said softly, as he changed into a tiger cub. Karasu picked him up and began to run. Her white hair unbraided itself, as wind blew past her face, blowing away her tears.
As she reached the man, he turned at her. His eyes widened in shock. Before anyone can react, she pulled him into a tight hug.
"Sharky.... I miss you...."
"A-Ara?" Kisame's harsh voice asked. She nodded as she let him go. "Nice to see you again, kiddo." He added, ruffling her hair.
Instead of giving a reply, Karasu began to sobs, clutching Kisame's black cloak tightly. "Thank you... For coming all the way from Ame just to give me the presents." She muttered, causing him to chuckle.
He pulled the girl up, and swung her around the air, causing her to let out a giggle. He put her down, before saying, "Ah, it's nothing. Everyone wants me to give those to you. It's not easy to find you, you know? You visited all the countries, and it makes it harder for Samehada to track your chakra. But however, it's so cool."
"Thank's for the compliment! Anyways, I think you've grown taller than before! I thought it was impossible..." She muttered the last part.
Kisame sighed. "Nothing is impossible, remember that. You're much prettier than the last time I saw you-... Wait, you smelled like cakes!"
"Of course! I had a cake war with Kashi-nii, 'Tachi, and Shisui-kun! We had lots of fun!"
"Kashi-nii? 'Tachi? Shisui-kun? Who are they?"
"Can't you take a guess? 'Tachi is Itachi Uchiha! And I mean Shisui Uchiha!"
"Umm... Okay... And, who's 'Kashi-nii'?" He asked, emphasizing the 'nii' part.
"It's Kakashi Hatake! Son of White Fang!"
"Why did you call him 'big brother'?"
"Because he's very kind to me! Besides, he doesn't mind. Now he even calls me imouto!"
Kisame sighed, staring at the girl. He smiled. "As long as you're happy, everything's fine for me. By the way, is this kitten your pet?"
In an instant, Yūsha had transformed back into his adult form, and lunged at the Hoshigaki, pinning him onto the ground.
"He's a tiger, Sharky. You shouldn't insult him. He's my guardian. Besides, felines eats fish. Right?" She asked, as Yūsha jumped away, and now standing behind his master.
"I'm a shark. Not a fish."
"You're in denial, Kisa-kun."
He scoffed. "Whatever. Well, I have to go. Goodbye, Ara. See you next time."
With that, he disappeared, leaving Karasu alone. Again.
*/*\*/*\*
Karasu sighed, as she climbed onto her bed, hugging the shark plushie in her arms. Yūsha is already sleeping on the floor.
"Otou-sama... I'm sorry that I'm not good enough for you..." She muttered, as a tear escaped from her eyes. She fell asleep, with a sad smile on her face.
At the same time, a cloaked figure teleported into the room. The man pulled down his mask, revealing his face, which is full of stitches.
He kneeled in front of the sleeping girl, and ran his fingers through her hair,
"I'm the one who should apologize, Ara. I shouldn't have said those words, should I?" He muttered. He noticed that the tiger is now watching him, but he didn't budge.
"I'm so proud of you. You're an amazing, brave, smart, and beautiful little girl. I think it's already very late to say this... But better late than never, right?"
He planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
"I love you." He whispered, smiling at the girl.
Then he pulled up his mask, and turned at the tiger. He patted the predator's head. "Take care of her, please."
The tiger growled softly in confirmation, and the man nodded, before disappeared.
*/*\*/*\*
Karasu swear she felt someone kissed her forehead when she's sleeping. She even heard a whisper 'I love you'. But she just shook it off.
After all, it's just a dream. Right?
"Ara! Breakfast's ready!"
"Okay!" The girl yelled, as she put on her eye patch, and ran downstairs.
She sat in front of the table, across Kakashi. And that's when she noticed the solemn look in his face.
"Kashi-nii? What's wrong?"
The Hatake sighed. "I have a mission, Ara."
She frowned. "How long?"
"About a week or more."
She pouted. "So who's gonna take care if me now? I thought you were my bodyguard."
"I know. But Minato-sensei says that you can take care of yourself, especially with Yūsha. I'm gonna send some of my friends here to accompany you."
Karasu raised an eyebrow.
"You have to take care of Bull and Guruko, remember? You can't do it in Kushina-san's house, of course. You have to do it here. Besides, I can't abandon my house for a week, now, can I?"
"Fine... So where's your friends?" Karasu asked, as she slurped down the rest of her ramen.
Kakashi shrugged, as he stood up, grabbing the empty bowls and began to wash the dishes. "They should be here soon."
Then, doorbell rang. "Get it for me, please?"
"Okay!" Karasu replied as she ran towards the front door, and opened it.
To reveal Kakashi's friends. 3 teens, looking at her in curiosity.
"Kashi! They're here!" She yelled, causing the guests to flinch, covering their ears.
"For a little girl, you sure are loud." The black-haired guy muttered.
"So youthful! Such a beautiful flower!" The guy in spandex stated, making her cringe.
All of them entered the house, to meet with the panic Kakashi.
"I'm already late. I have to go! Asuma, you're in charge! See you next week, Ara!" The Hatake exclaimed, running out of the door.
Karasu's eye twitched. "That damn Hatake... He left me alone with 3 strangers... One of them is a freak... And 2 others are lovers... I'm so gonna have revenge..." She muttered, cracking her knuckles.
Guy began to cry, Kurenai blushed, while Asuma gulped. They all just watch her with wide eyes, as she took an orange-covered book from the couch. She sat on the floor, and began to rip each of the book's pages into tiny pieces one by one, while smirking evilly. She pulled out a match, light up a fire, burning the poor thing into ashes.
She smiled and clasped her hands. "Done! Now, can you introduce yourself?" She asked.
"Asuma Sarutobi."
"Kurenai Yuhi."
"My name is Might Guy! I'm Kakashi's eternal rival of youth! Pleasure to meet you, my beautiful flower! I can see the amazing youth in you!"
"Well, say hello to my little friend." Ara stated, as she saw Yūsha entered the room.
"Umm... I don't think that it's little..." Kurenai muttered.
Asuma nervously waved at the giant tiger. "Hello?"
-Who are these weirdos, Ara?-
'Kashi's friends who's gonna babysit us for a week.'
"His name is Yūsha. I suggest you not to get into his bad side. Hurt me, and he'll kill you. Hurt him, and I'll kill you." She said the last part in an over sweet tone.
"So, what's your name?" Asuma asked.
The girl rolled her eye, as she sat on the couch. "I'm Karasu."
"Crow?" Kurenai asked. The girl nodded curtly.
"Such an unyouthful name!" Guy wailed. Karasu growled, as she glared at Guy. "I take that as an offense." She hissed. In an instant, Guy was laying on the ground, tied with soft blue strings.
"You know chakra strings...?" Asuma muttered, touching the 'almost-invisible-rope'.
"Yep. I know lots about it."
"Such a youthful-" Guy started, but he fell unconscious when Karasu kicked his head.
"He's abnormal." She muttered, as she turned at Asuma.
"You seemed like the most sane one. By the way, you can call me Ara."
Asuma just chuckled. Kakashi's right.
She's far from ordinary.
*/*\*/*\*
"Aww.... You look so cute!" Kurenai squealed, looking at Karasu, who is not wearing her short white dress anymore.
Kurenai had forced her to wear many dresses ever since they finished their introduction. Guy hasn't woke up yet, while Asuma just wondered around the house, and taking glance at Ara every time she changed into another outfit.
"Come on, Kurenai-san! I'm tired! I've tried about a dozen of this! Stop acting like a little girl! I'm not your doll! You're much more childish than me now!"
"Please Ara-chan! This is the last one!"
"You always says that!" Ara exclaimed, as she ran back to the living room.
Asuma chuckled.
"What's so funny?!" The girl snapped.
"Why don't you just knock her out like how you did to Guy?" He asked.
"I can't hurt girls!"
"But you're a girl, too. It doesn't matter."
"It does." She muttered, "The last time I hurt a girl, my godfather lecture me for almost 2 hours straight."
"Who is the girl anyway?"
"His girlfriend."
Asuma bursted out laughing.
"Obviously! You can't hurt a girl when her boyfriend is also there!"
"That's the problem."
"What?"
"You're her boyfriend, right?" Karasu asked.
Asuma's eyes widened. "N-No!"
"You're in denial~"
"I'm serious! We're not dating or what...."
"But you want to...." She taunted.
He sigh. "Fine. You're right. But she doesn't know."
"Just tell her."
"It's not that simple!"
"Geez, no need to shout..." She muttered.
"Whatever. For now, you may knock her out. I'm not her official boyfriend yet." Asuma muttered.
The girl grinned. "Thank you!"
Just then, Kurenai entered the room. "There you are!"
In an instant, Karasu had throw a senbon, and it hit the teen's neck, causing the Yuhi to fell unconscious.
Asuma caught her body just before she hit the floor. "You can make it less dangerous, you know? She might hit her head." Asuma commented, as he picked up Kurenai bridal-styled and put her on the couch.
"Fine... I'm sorry for hurting your wife, Mr. Sarutobi."
SMACK!
"Ouch! Why did you hit me?! Boys shouldn't hit girls!"
"Your boyfriend's not here, right?" Asuma replied, smirking.
"Don't use my words..." She mumbled, "Besides, I'm single! Unlike you!"
A blush crept onto his face.
"Kurenai Sarutobi... That sounds nice..." The 5-years-old girl continued, grinning.
He blushed harder.
"Kurenai and Asuma, sitting on a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" She sang.
His face got redder, if that's even possible.
"You do know who my father is, don't you?" Asuma threatened. The girl nodded, smiling innocently.
"Yep! He's the Third Hokage! I bet he will approve! There will be a great celebration! The wedding will be amazing!"
"Asuma Sarutobi, do you take Kurenai Yuhi as your-"
Karasu couldn't continue the wedding vow, due to the fact that Asuma had already lunged at her in anger.
-Ara!-
'Don't worry. I won't get hurt.'
-I'll interfere when everything went out of control.-
'Deal.'
And of course, he froze in shock when he saw that she dodged his chakra blades with another kind of metal.
A giant axe.
"Say hello to Kirā, lover boy!"
"W-What?!" He yelled, as the axe's blade was already pointed at his neck.
To his surprise, she let out a soft giggle.
"Just kidding! You won't die this soon! After all, you wouldn't want to lose the chance of having kids with Kurenai, now, would you?"
His eyes twitched. Nevertheless, both of them decided to put away their weapons and started a civilized conversation.
