Chapter 27 : Wooden Fox

It has been a few days since they found out that Ara doesn't have any chakra natures. That fact really had shaken her.

To be truthful, Kakashi doesn't know what to do. For the first time in his life, Kakashi was clueless. He may be a genius, but for this case, that fact doesn't apply. He has all the chakra natures, and he had to deal with his little sister, who had just found out that she has no chakra natures, none at all, the opposite of her father.

But in his opinion, even without his help, she's alright.

However, the next day, Ara acted like she doesn't know about it. She didn't mention it at all, and instead she said that she was going to start her training soon. She stayed in her room for hours, and come out just to eat. She looks like she was losing sleep, but Kakashi didn't ask.

Kakashi knows that she's hiding something. The glint in her eyes, the smile on her face, the way she peeked out from her door, or trotted her way back to her room, those tell everything. She's hiding something special that no one else may see except her. Even Yūsha was kicked out of the room.

Funny, that he heard her talking to herself. He's worried, but he believed in her.

Again, the good thing is, after she found out about that, she starts talking again. Just to Kakashi and Yūsha. But it's still an improvement.

Kakashi knocked on Ara's door. "Ara, dinner's ready!"

No answer.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes in suspicion. It was somehow too silent.

Let's hope that Ara doesn't lock the room.

Kakashi sighed in relief, as he managed to push the door open. He walked in, and a smile crept onto his face at the sight in front of him.

Ara is sitting on her chair, her arms on the desk, and her head is leaning on them.

She was sleeping.

Kakashi approached her, and ran his fingers through her white hair. Sometimes he forgot that Ara is just a little girl, not even 6 years old. He was a bit sad that Ara lost her normal childhood, just like him.

Then his gaze landed on the thing she was working on.

It was a wooden puppet. A fox wooden puppet, probably as big as Guruko.

Kakashi carefully picked up the puppet, examining it. It was obvious that the fox puppet was made carefully. It was perfect. The size, the shape, the balance. The claws were made of blades, just like the fangs. The eyes were made of glass, and the tail was made of fur. It was polished, and painted orange and black, just like the tail.

Kakashi smiled. So this is her work? Amazing.

"...Aniki?" A voice whispered.

Kakashi turned at Ara. "Cool puppet. You made this alone?"

She nodded.

"Wanna eat dinner?"

She shook her head. "Not hungry. Sleepy."

Kakashi chuckled. "Go to bed, then. Not on your desk."

Ara stood up, still wobbly, and walked towards her bed like a zombie, dropping herself on the mattress and starts snoring.

Yūsha slowly entered the room.

-What's up, Kakashi?-

'Well, she needs sleep more than eats now.' Kakashi replied, referring to the sleeping girl.

Yūsha chuckled. His gaze landed on the desk.

-What's that?-

'A fox puppet she made. I don't know what for, but I have one word to describe it. Perfect.'

Yūsha let out a sigh. -Even for me, she's still full of surprises.- he stated, as he jumped onto the bed, and lay next to his master.

-You should go to sleep too, Kakashi. I have a feeling that a certain green freak will visit you early tomorrow.-

The older Hatake groaned. 'Damn. And your instincts always right.'

"Well, good night." Kakashi said, as he kissed Ara's forehead, and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Kakashi was woken up by loud bangs on his front door. After trying to ignore it for half an hour, he finally gave up, and check on the persistent knocker.

Yūsha's right. It's Guy.

"... What do you want?"

"My youthful rival! It has been more than 3 months since our last battle! I challenge you to race me to the Hokage Monument!"

"No."

"But why, Kakashi? Asuma and Kurenai want to watch us! And Ar-..." Guy stopped in his mid-sentence, as be realize what he's going to say.

He shook his head frantically, with his hands up in fear, as he starts backing away from his rival, "Oh my Kami! Kakashi! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to! Please spare me! It's so unyouthful of me and-"

"It's fine, Guy." Kakashi cut him off, putting his hands in his pockets, "I found her."

"Really?! You're so youthful, Kakashi! Let me see her!" Guy exclaimed. Just as he was about to enter the house, Kakashi stopped him.

"Now, Guy, I don't think it's a good idea. You see, she's-"

"Ah! You're right, my rival! It's so unyouthful! I should tell Asuma and Kurenai, so all of us can visit my youthful flower together!" Guy yelled, turning around. Kakashi's eyes widened.

"First, she's not yours. Second, she's-... Hey, Guy! Come back here!" Kakashi called in frustration, but failed. Guy had already disappeared, inviting Mr. and Mrs. Sarutobi to his house.

Kakashi ran his fingers through his silver hair, growling and cursing a certain hyperactive boy.

Well, he's so screwed.

Ara's eyes widened. Kakashi told her that the 'Trio Weirdos', as how she called them, will visit her.

She doesn't want to meet them.

Her eyes twitched. She let out a heavy sigh of annoyance, ushering Kakashi out of the room.

Ara cringed, tracing the burn marks around her wrists. The same scars like the ones around her ankles, from the electrocuting chains. She had a large scar on her back, from whips, and one on her stomach, from when she was stabbed.

She shivered, recalling the memories. It was painful. So painful, that she can still feel the electricity that ran through her body, or the whip that slashed her back. It still hurts.

She whimpered softly. Grabbing a roll of bandages, she wrapped her wrists and ankles, before she put on a dark blue hoodie and grey pants, covering all the scratches on her skin. She put on her eyepatch, covering her fox eye, before she walked out of the room.

"Okay, Ara, I think we should just eat breakfast first." Kakashi said from the kitchen, as he walked towards the table, followed by his sister. They found nothing but an apple. He saw Ara's eye, which is locked to the fruit.

"You want that?" Kakashi asked, referring to the apple. Ara nodded. Kakashi smirked, as he snatched the apple from the table. He offered it to Ara, and before she could take it, he throws it onto the air, and catch it, raising a taunting eyebrow at her.

Ara narrowed her eye. Kakashi chuckled, as he sat down and pulled down his mask, taking a bite of his apple. Ara saw his face, and laughed.

"Eh... what's so funny?" Kakashi asked, as he immediately pulled his mask back up.

"So that's why! The great Hatake Kakashi is scared of fangirls!" She commented, referring to his mask.

"Hey, I'm not scared! And you're a Hatake, too!"

Ara grinned. She smirked at Kakashi, and then he realized what does she mean. The apple is now in her grip. He had put it down when he was panicking about the mask.

Before Kakashi can snatch it back, however, the doorbell rang. Kakashi sighed, and stood up.

"Wait here." He told his little sister, as he made his way towards the front door.

As Kakashi re-entered the kitchen, he saw Ara sitting on the table, holding the apple core, aiming for the trashcan.

"Ara, we-"

Ara jolted in surprise, accidentally threw the apple core, missing the trashcan, and instead hit the dish rack, causing it to fall over, and all the plates fell to the floor, and broke in pieces. Kakashi cringed.

Ara growled, turning at Kakashi, glaring at him.

"Uh...." Kakashi muttered, gulping, "Sorry. I'll take care of it..." he said, still scared.

Ara sighed. She jumped off the table, and walked out of the kitchen. To meet with the 'Trio Weirdos'.

"Hi Ara!"

Ara nodded in reply of Kurenai's greeting. It has been a long time since the last time she met them. However, still, she's not in the mood.

"Eh? She usually run away when she saw Kurenai." Asuma commented. Ara glared at him.

"Ah, Ara! How are you, my beautiful flower?" Guy yelled, as bursted into the room. Before Ara can react, however, he already pulled her into a too tight hug.

Ara winced in pain. Guy's grip somehow reminded her of the cuffs. Her eyes widened, as flashbacks start running through her mind. The chains, the cages, the beatings, the Root ANBUs.....

"Guy, let her go! She starts hyperventilating!" Asuma yelled.

"What's happening?!" Kurenai exclaimed in panic.

Ara can feel a pair of strong hands pulled her away from the choking hug. It was Kakashi. He took Ara, and she immediately hides behind him, as she starts whimpering.

"I already told you, didn't I?! I told you that this is a bad idea!" Kakashi roared at Guy, "Can't you listen to me for once?! I would be glad to attend your stupid battle, I don't mind if you visit me, but when I said no, I have my reasons! And you can't just enter my house and scare my little sister like that!"

Kakashi then turned, and bend down to Ara's height, as he gave her a side hug, and whispered calming words to her.

The other three just watched in confusion. How can Kakashi calm Ara down so easily? Why didn't Ara talk at all? Why did she start hyperventilating? What's happening? How, and why?

"Ara, you can go back to your room. I need to talk with these idiots." Kakashi finally stated.

Ara raised an eyebrow. "It's about me, isn't it?" She muttered.

Kakashi sighed. "Yeah. They need to know, or this kind of thing would happen again. Or you want to keep it a secret?"

"No... It's fine... I'm going to train, though... With the wooden fox..." She replied softly.

"What do you mean?"

"It's a secret, Aniki." Ara said with a small wink, before she kissed Kakashi's cheek, giving him a short hug, and ran to her room.

Kakashi chuckled quietly, as he watched his sister left. He then turned at his ex-classmates.

"Now, let's get into the business. My house, my rules. No interruption, no question, and no comment until I'm done talking. Sit down and don't move from your spot. I will explain everything."

I apologize. I was gone for a few days, busy writing while grinning like a maniac. The internet for my phone is officially gone TT_TT

I already wrote a few chapters... just half an hour ago I finished typing chapter 29.The title is on that chapter is 'Kanachitazuha'. Weird, huh? I bet you don't know what that means XD

Oh, by the way, I officially published my new story! The title's Caraphernelia. About Minato's little sister, who hates Kakashi, and blah blah blah..... just read it!

We need more humor on this story, don't you agree? And, just telling you, I would be glad to hear your question, suggestion, and even requests (I mean, like, you say you want to see Kushina scolding Ara, or such things like that)!

Comment! Vote! See you later!
