Chapter 16 : Hatakes
"Hi, Tou-san!" Ara greeted as she entered the Hokage office, with Kakashi behind her. The boy is chuckling at his little sister, who is now so energetic like a baby fox. Oh, the irony.
Even though she is smiling, Minato frowned. It was faked almost perfectly. If he didn't see her eyes, he would have thought that she really is happy, while the truth is she's on the edge of major depression.
Ara soon realize that there were many other people in the office. She recognize Kushina, Fugaku and Mikoto, Tsume, and the rest are strangers.
"And... Uh... Good morning, ... important people?" She asked.
Some chuckles were heard.
"Okay, so let's get to the point." Minato said.
"Due to the fact that you're the last Kigaeru, and a jinchūriki, many people are going to try to use you. So, I think it would be better if we change your last name. And-"
"I will get officially adopted?" Ara stated.
Minato nodded. "But you may choose. Everyone here are the ones who are willing to take you as a part of their family."
"... Introduction please?" The girl asked nervously.
"Shikaku Nara."
"Inoichi Yamanaka."
"Chouza Akimichi."
"Hiashi Hyūga."
"Kizashi Haruno."
"Shibi Aburame."
The rest, who had already know her, just give her a smile, or a nod (a grin in Tsume's case).
It pained Kakashi. The image of Ara leaving his house is actually something he doesn't want to think about.
He knows that it's selfish. But he can't help it. He's already attached.
"Well? Now what do you think?"
Ara turned away, her gaze meeting Kakashi's.
"Tou-san..." She started, "you said anyone in this room, right?"
Minato nodded.
"I don't mean to disrespecting any of you," she said, as a small smile crept onto her face,
"But can I change my last name into Hatake?"
Everyone gasped.
Kakashi's eyes widen. "A-Ara..."
"I mean, all your clans are awesome, but I think Hatake suits me more. Besides, I want to officially call him Aniki!"
"... Alright... Then-"
"Yay! You hear that, Aniki? You hear that, right?!" Minato was cut off by Ara's yell, as she jumped onto Kakashi's back, almost bringing him down. Kakashi was grinning behind his mask.
Kushina squealed. "Awww!!! They're so cute, dattebane!!"
"Well, if that's all, then I'll take my leave." Shibi said, before disappeared.
"Oh, right. You're dismissed." Minato told all the clan leaders, who bowed and teleported away.
"Now, Kakashi, I think-" The Yondaime stopped when he realized that the room is empty with no one but his wife, his son, and himself.
Kushina smiled softly. "You can see them from here, dattebane." She said, her gaze locked to the window in front of her.
Minato approached her, and looked through the glass.
Ara is having a piggyback ride on Kakashi, while he was jumping and running once in a while, causing her to squeal in shock and excitement.
"S-Stop Aniki!" She shrieked, holding tightly on Kakashi, who is now running.
"Now what's the magic word?"
"You jerk!"
Kakashi laughed, as he jumped onto the roof.
Ara shrieked louder, before she starts giggling.
"I think it's really a good choice. She looks so happy, dattebane."
Minato nodded, a smile on his face, "And Kakashi... This is the first time I heard him laughing."

"You hear that?" Kurenai asked, as she took a sip of her tea, before starts eating the barbeque in front of her.
"What?"
"I think I heard Ara. She's giggling."
Asuma almost dropped his chopsticks.
After the Kyūbi incident, everyone knows that Ara has changed. She smiled, but it seemed forced.
Everyone, means Kakashi, Yūsha, Itachi, Hana, Shisui, Kurenai, Asuma, Kushina, Mikoto, and Minato.
Not including Gai.
"Seriously?" He asked.
"Ohayō Mina!" A cheerful voice answered his question.
They turned, to see Ara on Kakashi's back, both of them panting, covered in sweat, Ara grinning while Kakashi chuckled.
"What's up?" Asuma asked.
"My name is Ara Hatake!" She announced.
"Eh?!" The two lovebirds yelled in shock.
"I'm adopted! Officially adopted by Kakashi-nii!"
"I thought you call me Aniki." Kakashi commented.
"Hey! What's the difference! You want me to call you what, Hatake?!"
"You're a Hatake, too." Kakashi said, before he laughed and ruffled his sister's hair.
"Is Kakashi... laughing...?" Kurenai whispered. Asuma slowly nodded, grimacing.
"Kami save us. The world's ending." He muttered.
Kakashi laughed harder, hearing the statement.
The two fainted.

"And... Here!" Kakashi exclaimed, as he opened the door.
Ara's eyes widened at the room in front of her. Her room.
The walls were painted in dark blue, with many tiny raindrops in grey and light blue. There's also some big golden stars painted on the ceiling. There's a pretty big window on the wall next to the bed.
The queen sized bed is at the edge of the room, a small nightstand beside it. The bed itself is grey, with red pillows and black blankets with red and orange flames on it.
Next to the bed, is a large desk, with a bookshelf next to it. There are many books already, most of them about medical stuff, chakra, and history of Konoha.
Across the desk, is a wardrobe, with a mirror in front of it. Beside it is the small bathroom.
The room's door has some hangers on it. Next to the door, there's a large rack, with some bandages, her scrolls and axe on it.
"I'm sorry, I think it's too dark, I mean, the colors are just-"
"It's great! Thank you!" Ara cut him off, before slamming her body onto the bed. She looked at the ceiling, before a soft smile crept onto her face.
"I wanna tell you something, Aniki." She said calmly. Kakashi took a seat next to her.
"You know, I lived in a place where everyday is always raining. I was also born there. It's just... This brings back many memories." She said with a sigh.
"And I like it. I used to sat on the roof with Saso-kun, watching the stars. We always came back home drenched in rain. And then Nee-chan will scolds me about getting flu. I always laughed at her, until I starts sneezing." Kakashi chuckled at this, but he stayed silent. He likes it when Ara starts talking about her old family.
"Kisa-kun will make a small fire, and we will sat in front of it, as he starts telling me about his old village. He told me about how he starts training, and how people hates him because of his looks."
"Then Zetsu-senpai will suddenly appeared, telling us to go eat dinner. I always have a fight with Kisa-kun. He always stole my beef, and I will pour my orange juice on him!" She added, now letting out a soft giggle.
"Well, we keep fighting like that until Otou-sama came. He hates it when we waste money. We will have to clean up the mess. And usually... We got no breakfast as the punishment."
She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. "It was fun."
Kakashi nodded. "Seems like your favorite is Kisa-kun."
"Yeah. He might be annoying, and weird, but he's the one who keep worrying about me. He's the closest one to me."
"But I think you're better!" She quickly added.
Kakashi smiled, as he stood up and kissed Ara's forehead.
"Good night, Imouto."
Ara smiled back. "Night, Aniki."
The white haired girl sat up as soon as Kakashi closed the door.
She gazed softly at the blanket. Red and black.
It reminds her of her old family.

See? I'm so kind!
Ignore that.
Please comment, vote, read my other stories... the standard procedures, you know?
Does any of you miss Yūsha? How about Sukoshi, Itachi, Shisui, and Hana? I'll make sure to add them on the next chapter. Too many Kakashi can get you a little bit addicted. XD
Just saying, that from now on, the next chapters would be... how to say it... Gloomy? Sad? Dark? Full of incidents? Pick whatever you like.
The tragedies start on chapter 17, or maybe 18, I'm not sure yet. Prepare yourself!
Just reminding you: Comment!
Thanks, Reader-senpai!
