In that particular night the only thing to be heard was the scared panting of a worker drone as their pursuer flied above them.
The thing just laughed manically as it continued to chase them, showing no signs of giving up anytime soon.
Scarily enough, no matter how much the worker drone ran, the thing never got tired. It seemed to have... unlimited stamina.
That was an extremely unnerving thought for them.
It was incredibly unfair for the drone, who they themself were struggling to keep on running.
Spotting a nearby storage room, they jumped into it and slammed the door shut, curling up into the darkest, smallest corner there was.

That would prove to be a huge mistake.

With its tail the thing latched onto the handle, tugging on it and letting out a shriek of annoyance when the door didn't budge.

Not thinking logically, the drone panicked and curled up tighter, trying to somehow become invisible.
This was foolish, very foolish indeed-
It was useless to delay their eventually demise.
It was going to get in anyway.

The door handle continued to rattle, prompting the worker drone to whimper.
With a loud BANG, the door was thrown off its handles and tossed out into the hallway like a child's toy.

Glowing purple X met hollow, wide O's.

Followed by another spine-chilling shriek, the drone was promptly decapitated, their head rolling across the floor.
Their body crumpled to the hard cold ground, destined to be another one of the thing's many meals.
The predator had caught its prey at last.
