CHAPTER 22: BECAUSE HE TOLD ME NOT TO CRY
***(DISCLAIMER: PLEASE DON'T START THE SONG NOW. I'LL TELL YOU WHEN TO.)***
The pain stopped and a haunted hovered over sending chills down Sarah and Nathan's spines.
They got out of the house, running. Sarah could sense the location of Emily.
They stopped before what looked like a relinquished house's garage. They couldn't exactly interpret what this dome was. Sarah didn't have time to turn around and ask Nathan if he could smell anything wrong with his Terminal abilities. She rushed opened the rusty door, producing a creaking noise. She stepped in.
Her eyes saw what lied in front of them. She sensed it her mind, her body, her soul. The ghastly sensation extended to the equilibrium of her body which wanted to drop. What she sensed it to be was what it was. Like a pendulum, a string came from the ceiling with the bob as something morbid.
Emily's heart.
Except for this pendulum, it didn't oscillate. And thus time stopped. For Emily, for Sarah and for Nathan, who wished he hadn't known the culprit.

Sarah fell down on her knees as they knocked against the cement on the floor. She didn't feel painless just because of that magical chain that connected Sarah with Emily. She felt so because Emily had deceased. She felt her heart making a boundary of stone around itself to find peace and solitude. There was a thought lingering in her mind but apparently she felt that all her thoughts and ideas were just so distant suddenly. It felt as if she was hiding from her own thoughts. Had Emily deceased before they'd shared a part of their minds, Sarah wouldn't have gone into a trance. It was like half her soul and body had evaporated from her. It was like she was living in a shadow.
A young girl walked from the darkness from the other side of garage. Nathan could see the beige-coloured shirtwaist, berry-coloured blouse and a plain light brown skirt.
Nathan's eyes were red and full of tears though he didn't let them fall down his cheeks. They weren't entirely for Emily or the horrific death she died. It was for the fact that he knew the person who killed her. He could see the face and feel the soul.
Nathan quickly dragged Sarah to her feet—who had too much of water in her eyes to look who was coming for her—and pulled her to the outside of the garage although he knew he couldn't run away from this dilemma; from the person who was standing in front of him.
"Nathan?" the voice said.
That voice he always thought he could marry. Ah, that sweet voice. How could you not look into the gorgeous eyes of the reciter of that voice and love them and not call it blasphemy?
His eyes shut and a memory which was a seldom passenger in his mind broke itself into his mind. It was of the very person that was in inside that dome and who was gong to come out with their eyes acting like swords and cutting light and darkness into halves:
It had been six months since this person had broken his heart and it hurt. This hurt was passionate and swept itself deeper and deeper into Nathan.
He walked into that house—a place where he used to visit perhaps too often without a permit. Tonight it wasn't a house but merely a relinquished mansion. Nathan's eyes looked like poinsettia—red and elegant as them. He searched for a soul in the gloomy darkness where no single ray of light waltzed but shadows crept and swayed on the orders of the Devil.
The only thing that dared to shine was a ring in his left hand's fourth finger which shone like a gallant warrior's armour. His hands crept to the knob of the person's door and turned it around. This room was lighted, although it would have been better had no light had to audacity to allow Nathan what really was there. Huge words written on the ivory-coloured wall stood in front of him. In bold capital letters, the message out-glowed the light in the room and blinded Nathan of any happiness. This person can't have ever said this to anyone and the fact that they did now, marked the end of summer eternally.
This couldn't happen.
This shouldn't happen.
But this had had happened.
He left the room, his bones feeling weak and frail like dust. But the message continued to roar and flash itself in black ink on the ivory-coloured walls:
I BEG MY SOUL OUT. NATHAN WILSON GET OUT OF MY HEAD BEFORE I DIE OF LIVING.

Nathan swallowed as he opened his eyes and replied back to the melodious voice.
"Ava."
