Personality :
Rose is always seen as distant and numb. Never angry, never smiling or laughing, nobody really knows how or why she's doing it, but she keeps all her emotions in the bottom of her heart, locked away, to not unleash something horrible on people around her. Though people who know her well enough would know how she's feeling, her eyes telling more than her entire body or words.
Her cold or numb behavior makes her look like she doesn't care, but Rose cares. She cares so much that she refuse to set free her inner-beast to not hurt anyone, even if it means never feeling any emotions. Though her compassion takes over sometimes, even if she can appear rough or a bit clumsy. As she needs to be constantly aware of her surroundings, she easily notices people's change, good or bad and her good nature appears through some gesture, like a cup of hot cocoa and a conversation to comfort a student or a blanket on a student who feel asleep in the common room. Even if she thinks she can't find real happiness or feel real emotions, she would gladly help people find their way on those topics.

Clothing style :
Rose dresses in a simple and quite casual way, but still comfortable. Always in dark color, strangely, this is the shades who suit her best. She seems to express a bit with her clothes.

She likes eating and hunting, even if it's her non human side who affects her.
She likes to be with Remus at the library to study some subjects. It's calm and they usually have a good time, even if it's silent.
She also likes drawing, at first it started as a pass time to not focus on her inner beast and also to get her observing skills on point, but now, she took a real liking to it and she always carries a sketchbook and a pencil, to draw anywhere.

📓 HISTORY 📓

"How I will be remembered doesn't matter to me. As far as I'm concerned, when time will come, I'll disappear and get meet old friends."

Rose was born in Canada, the country of Wendigowaks, in a pure-blooded family, known to have non-human blood in its veins and who takes name after flowers. Proud and fierce, the Morthem family was working on the most tabou subject we could think of, and they were and are still highly regarded as the family's work brought to light many mysteries on magical creatures, especially the dangerous ones, who were between life and death.

Her father, Ambroise, was intersted in a more concrete thing. He wasn't interested in creatures on the mortal plan, but in the concept of Life and Death, far more complex than anything. Seeking for the cycle's secret, he discovered far more for what he asked. In his quest, he ignored the fact some secrets have to be kept, in order to save everyone. And when we cross the line, we have to face consequences. A lesson Ambroise learned to late, when he crossed the line by piercing the veil between this two half of the same cycle.

As a punishment, Death cursed his pregnant wife, or more specifically, the yet unborn child.

"Your quest, for My secrets has come to an end. You have crossed the limit, now, pay the consequences.
Your child is going to live an existence of endless pain. They will be between Me and Life, with a heart a cold as ice and hunger as burning as fire.
They will only bring death around them and will never know the peace util their end."

And when the child was born and opened her eyes, they knew she was cursed, damned to be an unholy creature, hungry and thirsty for human flesh and blood. She was now a Wendigo, symbol of death and hunger but still living. Ambroise would always regret his mistake and he would spend the rest of his life to cure his elder child from the curse, begging over and over Death and Life to at least took the curse away from Rose and give it to him instead. With his pleads and his research, he managed to find other Wendigowaks, to teach his little girl how to live amoung people without being a chased creature. But Wendigowaks were aware of his mistake and how he angered Death, and nobody from humans nor magical creatures agreed to help. Except one woman, named Zoe, who was not cursed who who lived once with a Wendigo.

Zoe taught Rose how to contain her Wendigo nature and how to deal with hunger. Rose's powers influenced weather but it was influenced by emotions. Despite Zoe's indication, in order to not break the Mother Nature's law, Rose learned how to hide emotions, hidden far away in her heart. Zoe tried to warn, but Rose found it quite easy. No feeling, no burden and no funny business.
"What are you going to do the day you fall in love ?" asked once Zoe.
"I won't." answered the little girl.
"But what if you do ?" questionned the mentor.
"Then I will chase him away, to protect him from me." coldly answered the girl, as she saw a pained look on her mentor's face.

Over the year, Rose and the Morthem kept it together. At least, enough to adapt to Rose's condition and to welcome another child, who was Rose's little brother, Hyacinthe Morthem, who was a normal wizard, not cursed or anything.

One day, Death came to Rose. It saw the girl paying her father's debt in silence and without any wheeping. Maybe Death's heart got little warmer, while it was watching Morthem Family keep it together and try to not falling appart, as much as everythign was pushing them to get rid of Rose. As a prize, the Death gave her a little red cristal mounted in a necklace, wich was able to contain Rose's unholy nature, and would ease her heavy condition. Even if she still had her inner beast, the cristal would allow her to be more free with her emotions.

The little one thanked Death and then, huged it as she would feel the primordial concept wouldn't be harmed by her. Surprised, Death thought what to do with her.
It wanted to punish the father, and thought that he would get rid of her daugther, in fear of her curse. Instead, he learned his lesson and the little girl had showed true bravery, but the curse couldn't be undone this easily. Death couldn't do it, neither could Life, who was disguised as Zoe.

So Death was mercyfull and stayed to help Rose with the crystal and her condition. The girl grew up with a loving family and mentored by Life and Death themselves. An unusual life, but it was quite not far from the House of Morthem's reputation and achievements. Quickly, rumors spread the Morthem family had the ultimate secret of Life and Death, rumors who are actively denied by Ambroise and his wife, Iris. While the father was searching a way to cure Wendigowaks and Werewolves from their curse, the mother was pursuing other reasearch on magical creatures and dealing with the Morthem shops, who was selling various plants and ingredients for potions all across the world.

At the eleventh birthday, Roce received Hogward's letter and even she wanted to refused it to stay with her family and mentors, they had already prepared everything and told her that at Hogward, she will meet someone usually called "The special one" and occasionally a few friends. She had to learn how to live in society, find those special persons. But Rose can't be like other girls.

So at Hogward, she is detached from the other, always distant, even if she wants to have at least a friend.
And like if Fate was listening, she found a friend. A werewolf named Remus. They found each other by hazard, as she ventured in the Shrieking Shack in her Wendigo form, smelling something human in there, but quite faint, like an almost dead one. The Wendigo and the Werewolf smelled each other's human nature but also the curse each of them had. They fought, each of them trying to get to the other's human nature, leaving a few scars on each other over time. They boudned that way. The first time, it was strange, but it became more and more casual. During full moon nights, they were fighting each other, but during days, they were boudning like any normal teenagers, when he asn't with his usual friend group.

But then, Remus told her his friends learned how to be animagi and she would maybe like to meet them, for the next full moon. But Rose declined, as she would feel more like an intruder than anything else.

She returned at her loneliness, hunting sometimes in the Forbbiden Forest when the starving is to big to be contained, meeting some creatures kind enough to help her regain her human form, when she gets carried away under her beast form.
One day, as the hunger was getting harder to bear than anything else, making her think of eating her roomates, she got out of her dorm and found the Room of Requierment. Curious and to distract herself from hunger, she entered it, seeing a library and some art material. But the hunger couldn't be distracted from this time and an old painting appeared, opening to a gloomy tunnel. She crossed the tunnel, feeling another human presence close behing the tunnel's second door. As she pushed the second door who was more like the behind of another painting, she discovered it was leading to the Hog Head, even in the middle of  the night. The owner was still cleaning a dirty glass.

She nearly attacked him, but Abelforth, warned by his brother, managed to avoid the attack, and gave her a special food he had created for her, under her father's ask. Once her hunger had been appease enough to get back in control, the two quite talked a bit, to get a bit more than just their name and why Rose was there.

They became, in their own way, friends, Rose going often to the Hog Head, to eat something to distract her inner beast and Alberforth being the one who give her advice while she's on Hodwarts' grounds. Even if she was somewhat lonely at school and lonely during nights where she change into a Wendigo, she at least found a friend to turn to in time of need. It was an unconventional friendship, but it was one she could rely on and who won't make her feel the need to get away like with Remus.

In her own way, Rose found a sense of normality and balance between her human nature and her curse of being a Wendigo.

- Her brother knows the Marauders but it seems he's not really happy to see what they're doing to Snape. Hyacinthe seems to get along pretty well with other pure-blood, despite his house.

- She's sometimes seen at the library with Remus.

- While she knows Marauders' secret about being unregistered animagi, they don't know about her being a Wendigo as if this is known, people would most likely try to go kill her. At least, that's what she thinks.

- She has cold hands and slightly colder body temperature

- She tends to avoid Maraders to not get caught in a prank and get her true nature exposed.

-She seems to know about dark magic, but doesn't use it or she's very careful about it, as she often tries to find a counter spell to every dark spell, even for the unforgivable spells.

- While she has eyes of a normal color, it's sometimes visible she has the typical red eyes of a Wendigo under strong emotions like anger.
