SIXTEEN
Eleanor looked at the figure exiting the car that had just arrived. He swung his legs from the car, his movements lithe and graceful. Looking up, he saw her and stopped. They stared at each other and even though it was dark outside, she could see his eyes, illuminated by a street lamp. For a second there she couldn't breathe, from how intense his gaze was on her. It felt like forever before he started moving towards her. When she couldn't take it anymore, Eleanor spun around, walking in and leaving the door open. She couldn't pretend to be a nice hostess, even if her life depended on it. She heard him close the door behind him and suddenly the house was too small.
His presence alone was too overwhelming. Stay strong Eleanor. Don't you dare lose it. Spinning around she faced him. "You can go see for yourself that Marjorie is fine"
"Eleanor....."
"This is about Marjorie so please just focus on her. She's in my bedroom" Theo nodded and followed her. She opened the door then left him alone with his daughter. She couldn't stand to be in the same room with him and not want to yell, ask for explanations, beg him to love her. It was so pathetic that even after everything, she still wanted him to love her. Was she so desperate?
She barged into Miles and Sean's room. "Hey I heard voices. Is he here?" Miles asked. Eleanor had refused to tell them what had happened between them but they guessed she had fought with Theo. Being the good friends they were, they hadn't pressured her into talking about it.
"Traitors" she spat dropping in beside them.
"I take it you didn't kiss and make up then" Sean said
"You're assholes. You know what am going through but still left me alone with him. Jerks" her voice wavered at the end and she found herself crying again. You'd think her eyes were dry from all the tears she'd shed but no. They wouldn't stop.
Both men jumped up flanking her on either side "Hey don't cry. We're sorry but Miles thought you'd fall into his arms the moment you saw him." Sean defended himself
Miles jabbed him in the ribs. "Don't listen to him hun. Dry your tears. You don't want him to think you're still crying over him. Do you?" Eleanor stopped. Of course he would think like that if he saw her eyes red. That would only serve to give him leverage over her. No Fucking way.
"You're right Miles. Do you have concealer?" she asked getting up. When she got no answer, she turned around and found a shocked Miles while Sean was trying really hard not laugh. "What?"
"Girlfriend just because am gay doesn't mean I use makeup. That's just sexist"
"I don't think the word sexist applies here" Eleanor said rolling her eyes. A knock at the door made them all freeze looking at each other nervously.
"Let's go" Miles stood up pulling Sean with him.
"What? Where are you going?"
"We're giving you privacy. Move your lazy ass babe"
"No. Miles please stay. Please. Sean"
"Sorry love. But you can't hide forever"
"Oh my God you're such morons. You know that?" she asked but they were already out the door. She heard Miles tell Theo to come in and gritted her teeth bunching her fists. It's one thing to talk to him in the living room. But this was a bedroom. It was smaller. It had a Fucking bed. He was really talented with..... Focus Eleanor. Don't remember how good his hands or mouth are. Remember it was all a lie. Everything was all a lie. Lie. Lie. Lie. She chanted in her head. Theo walked in hesitantly. Apparently he didn't want to be in a bedroom with her.
"I'll drop Marjorie off tomorrow so you don't have to wake her up." thinking better she added "That is if you trust me to take care of her"
He took a step toward her. She stepped back. He got the message halting his movements "Of course I trust you."
"Good. Now if you please" she swung her hand to the door.
"Eleanor at least hear me out"
Shaking her head she said "No. There is nothing you can say to change anything so please leave." in a flash he was in front of her cupping her face.
"I really do love you. That part wasn't a lie. Please believe me"
"Leave. Me. Alone." she enunciated each word but he just pulled her into his body then covered her lips with his. Eleanor kissed him back, hating how her body failed her when it came to him. When they had first met, they had hated each other but even then she hadn't been able to control her reactions. To resist him. How then was she supposed to do so now when she knew what it felt like to kiss him? To drown in him and forget that anything else existed except for just him and her?
"I missed you Eleanor. I missed you so much" he murmured while trailing his lips down to her neck. Pushing her hair aside he nipped then sucked on the spot soothing away any pain.
Stop Eleanor. Stop him from....... Oh God. Yes, yes keep going down.... Stop... Don't stop.
But she just sagged against him grabbing his shoulders to keep herself upright. Encouraged, Theo became bolder, swiping his tongue in her mouth and lighting a fire in both of them. Realizing she wouldn't be able to stop if he continued, she took a step back and put her arms out as barriers. It took everything in her to push him away, make him stop the torture he was administering on her. "Never again will I fall for your lies."
"They weren't lies Eleanor. Everything between us was the truth." he said breathing harshly.
"Just do me a favor and leave me alone. I want nothing to do with you"
"You say that but your body tells me something else." he said smirking. Of course he'd realized the moment he touched her, she became weak.
"It doesn't matter. You've done enough, now leave. I'll drop Marjorie off tomorrow but after that, I never want to see you again"
"Eleanor please..."
"No. The amount of pain you've inflicted on me is enough so let me be in peace. Just leave already" in spite of trying, her voice still wavered at the end. Theo bunched his fists but after a few seconds, he left. She crumpled to the floor, crying. She heard Miles and Sean rushing in but it was like her heart was crumbling down with her. She sobbed while promising herself that it was the last time she was crying over that jerk. He didn't deserve her tears. She was done with Theodore Sullivan for good.

"Marj what happened?" Eleanor asked the next morning. They were sitting in bed eating their breakfast and the little girl hadn't let go of her hand ever since she woke up.
"Mommy said we were leaving without daddy and Artie but I didn't want to go with her."
"So you ran away?"
She nodded "Mommy wouldn't find us if we were with you"
"But Marj it's dangerous out there sweetie. What if bad people had found you?"
"Artie would have bitten him" she said as if it was that easy. Eleanor didn't want to scare her because she was just a child. But she had to make her understand that running away wasn't the solution.
"Listen to me Marj. Never ever run away again. It's not okay"
"But if mommy wants to take me away?"
"Call your father or hide somewhere in the house. Don't ever leave the house alone. You hear me?"
"But....."
"Marjorie stop arguing or I'll be mad at you"
"Okay Ella. But don't be angry with me"
"I won't. Promise me you'll never ran away again"
"Pinky promise" they shook on it then finished their breakfast. Eleanor hoped that once she wouldn't bump into Theo when she took Marjorie back but she also knew without a doubt he would be there waiting for them. All she had to do was keep her distance.
----------------------
Eleanor looked around satisfied with the end results. The house was decorated to her liking. When she'd told Miles and Sean to help her look for a place to live, she hadn't thought she'd find something so nice. With two bedrooms, a kitchen, spacious living area and a backyard, it was everything she'd ever wanted. She could see herself getting old there with a bunch of cats and sewing scarfs for a living. After she'd dropped off Marjorie, she had decided to look for her own place. Going back to the Sullivan mansion wasn't an option and she had outstayed her welcome at Miles and Sean's house. They were a couple who needed privacy and with her there, she doubted they had that. Eleanor also knew that sooner or later Theo would go looking for her and she really didn't want to see him again.
He'd broken her heart. She had been a fool to think someone like him could ever fall in love with her. He'd disliked her from the beginning and since she was so naive she'd thought it was because he secretly liked her. How stupid she had been. And Jason? She couldn't bring herself to think about him. They had both lied to her. The dates, the picnic, the chocolates. They must have laughed behind her back, making fun of her and her naivety. Now how was she ever going to trust another man? They'd both ruined her for someone else and not in a good way. Everywhere she went she became suspicious of anyone who smiled at her or even tried to approach her. What if they were friends with Theo and he'd sent them?
It was stupid to think like that but she couldn't help it. The only people she trusted were her friends alone. That's what they had turned her into. A person who mistrusted everyone around her. Sighing, she took her purse and left the house. She needed to go grocery shopping. Hopefully she wouldn't succumb to her bad eating habits and end up buying junk food. She'd gained a bit of weight since Sean had encouraged her to eat unhealthy food saying it lessened the pain. It hadn't, but she'd listened to him nonetheless and stuffed herself. But then again she wasn't one of those weight watchers. A thirty minute run thrice a week will fix everything. The rest, she liked it the way they were. While crossing the road her phone rang. In the process of answering it she looked up and her eyes bulged. A car was passing by and she could have sworn she saw Bridget inside. But that was impossible.
Ever since Marjorie had shown up at her place, no one had seen or heard from that woman. It was like she had disappeared into thin air. Brad had told her how Theo had tried to find his wife so she could sign the divorce papers but up until then he'd found nothing. No one knew where she had gone or even if she was still in the country. They'd even looked for her in hospitals and morgues but they'd come up empty. That was a month ago. So what were the chances she was the one in that car? Besides the woman looking out the window was pale and her eyes looked defeated. Bridget was a lot of things but resigned? No way. Shaking her head she answered her phone. "Hello?"
"Hi Ella. I just landed. I'll be at your place in about an hour"
"Okay. Am just out buying food so I won't take long."
"Okay babe. See ya" he hung up. Eleanor rushed to the store picking anything edible she came across. Landon, her cousin was going to stay with her for a while until he found his own place. From experience she knew men ate like pigs so she bought anything and everything.
-----------------------
Theo slammed the phone down. The people he'd hired to find his wife were all useless. They all came up empty and he wondered why he was wasting his money on them. How hard was it to find Bridget? She wasn't some kind of spy that knew how to cover her tracks. Actually she was the most sloppiest person he'd ever met. So how was it that no one could find her? He wanted her to sign the divorce papers so he could move on with his life. Theo had plans to ask Eleanor to marry him. After he made her understand that he was wrong of course. He wanted to go to her a free man so he could beg, grovel, anything to make her take him back. His daughter needed her as much as he did too. But Bridget's MIA status was holding up his plans and he wanted to scour the earth and kill her. Even after she'd left, she was still making his life miserable.
Theo looked back to when he'd come back from London. It seemed like a millennia ago. He'd changed so much in the past few months. Eleanor had changed him. Now he wanted to live a life filled with love and happiness. He didn't care what other people thought of him. He couldn't help but wonder if his father had left those shares to Eleanor for a reason. Marcus Sullivan knew how stubborn his eldest son was. He also knew that Theo craved love since he was a young boy. The love his mother hadn't given him. That's why he'd married Bridget in such a rush. All he wanted was someone to call his own and vise versa. His old man had seen Eleanor and imposed her on him in the hopes that Theo would finally see the difference between his wife and her. As much as he wanted to be angry at his father for pulling such a stunt, he couldn't help but smile. Marcus Sullivan was still dictating his life even from beyond the grave.
This was never about the shares, he understood that now. This was a father's last attempt to give his son a happy life. Marcus knew Theo wouldn't be able to resist Eleanor and her innocence. She was a pure soul who drew you in with those beautiful eyes of her. Even Jason Waldorf had fallen in love with her. What more proof did he want to show him whovEleanor really was? He had to find his wife soon. He needed to do away with his past so he could move on to the future.

I feel like this chapter ties up everything but it's still a filler. Don't worry though only two or three more before we come to the end. Don't miss it because you'll be surprised.
