XXXII
Thirteenth century
"After Namjoon tried to slaughter me, due to the heavy blow I received in my stomach, I had gone to a coma. My parents were devoured in grief and dismay since they had pictured the whole future for me and it had shattered into pieces," Jungkook's eyes were filmy from the tears that trickled down his eyes. The scars in his heart were coming to life again, absorbing the beauty of happiness.
"Soon after, Namjoon killed my parents and they could not retaliate against him. If I just hadn't trusted Namjoon... None of this would have ever happened," Jungkook looked at Jimin, the scars throbbing in his heart.
"Namjoon tried to kill you?" Jimin was completely devastated. There was a past which was concealed from him, and Jimin knew that, but he didn't know it was serious, as serious as this.
"He practically killed me, chim. It was not a game anymore then. Not a game at all. It was a play; a theatrical play where the musings of broken people were recited out," Jungkook sighed deeply, closing his eyes.
"Why did he try to kill you though?" Jimin questioned, patting Jungkook's back so as to make sure that he was reassured that someone was with him.
"I don't know, chim. But I think he and my parents were not on good terms. Oh god, if I just had realized it sooner," Jungkook began to sob even more, the crystalline tears falling down from his cheek, staining the cloth with broken scars.
"Why do you keep blaming it on yourself, Kookie? Even if you do so, can the past come back? Can you retrieve it? Stop thinking about, gguk-ah. It will only hurt you more," Jimin's eyes was filled with an emotion that mirrored that of Jungkook's.
"I let the scars heal me, Jimin. But they just get deeper," Jungkook's eyes were bloodshot.
"It's okay to have scars, Kookie. It's the scars that give you an identity that you're strong; that you're not meant to falter," Jimin ran his hands through Jungkook's neatly set hair, his voice soothing and reassuring.
"Whatever you're telling is true, chim. I'll try, but I can never promise you that I'll be ok ever again," Jungkook's voice indicated that he was pouting through the tears.
"We all make empty promises, don't we?" Jimin raised his eyebrows, flashing his best smile.
"Not always," Jungkook smiled lightly, wiping away the tears from his face.
"Now, wipe of those tears of your face and smile for me, will you?" Jimin's voice was playful, his only intention to lighten up the mood and make Jungkook smile.
"All of a sudden?" Jungkook questioned, his voice a bit muffled due to the nose clog.
"Your smile is my everything, Kookie. It reassures me that you're alright and that you're slowly getting healed," Jimin whispered intentionally.
"Really? Then I can smile for you all day, Jiminie!" Jungkook flashed a huge grin towards Jimin, his pearly whites exposed to the seeds of happiness.
"That's my Kookie," Jimin ruffled Jungkook's hair softly.
"But what if Namjoon comes after you?" Jungkook questioned, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Then you'll be here to save me," Jimin replied with ease.
"How are you really sure of that? What if I-"
"I trust you, Kookie," Jimin cut him off, beaming at him.
"And it's like the same trust I had on Namjoon. It was finally broken."

"Uncle Jiminie!" Taehyung's tiny footsteps could be heard from afar. Jimin chuckled slightly averted his gaze to the small man trying to run, but instead impersonating someone wobbling.
"Tae, how are you? Why did you come here?" Jimin questioned, bending down to meet his gaze.
"I saw uncle Jungkookie was crying so I came to ask you if he was really fine," Taehyung halted in front of Jimin.
He's not fine. He's unconsciously ruining himself. "Don't worry, Tae. He's absolutely fine. He was just going through some hard time. Don't you worry, he'll be fine in no time," Jimin patted Taehyung's shoulder, his eyes filled with fondness.
"I know he'll be fine in no time, uncle Jiminie. He's really strong," Taehyung tried to feign that he had bulky muscles, flexing his scrawny arms.
"Of course. He should be strong cause he's the one ruling the kingdom, isn't?" Jimin ruffled Taehyung's hair.
"You don't rule then?" Taehyung asked with a pout etched on his face.
"I help him, Tae. Once you grow up, you'll understand all this," Jimin said, getting up from his squat, holding Taehyung's hand.
"Are you going somewhere, uncle Jiminie?" Taehyung's voice was meek, enough to melt Jimin's heart.
"Yes, Tae. I'm taking you to see the stars. You always wanted to see them, didn't you?" Jimin began to walk slowly, making sure that Taehyung was trailing behind without any difficulty.
"But I can't see them properly anyway..." Taehyung trailed off.
"Don't see them through your eyes, Tae. See them through your mind; through your heart and when you do, you can find the entire universe under your gaze, only for you," Jimin smiled softly at Taehyung.
"Really uncle Jiminie?" Taehyung tried to confirm. He was still sceptical of the fact that someone could make a whole universe through their mind.
"Of course, Tae. But if you don't believe me, then see for yourself," Jimin halted, using his free hand to point towards the stars that swept the entire sky, with some of them shimmering like diamonds, capturing the limelight in the process.
They were fighting for dominance, fighting for their voice to be heard, fighting for a universe to be lit. Not all stars shone, with some of them guiding the loners through the black inks of a heart.
"You can see that star over there? It's not twinkling, Tae. But it's unique in its own beauty," Jimin continued. "It doesn't guide me, but guides people like you."
Taehyung looked at every one of them, smiling softly. His eyes wavered from one side to another, fascinated by the beauty of the sky he once wished to converge in. As he closed his eyes, every star twinkled, forming a new universe.
"Look, Tae, there's a shooting star!" Jimin interrupted Taehyung, his voice filled with delight.
"A shooting star?" Taehyung questioned, repelled by the unfamiliarity of the name.
"Yes, Tae. You'll have to wish for something. And the wish comes true," Jimin beamed at Taehyung who was almost ready to make a wish.
"Make a wish, go on!" Jimin urged Taehyung.
The duo closed their eyes and began to mumble incoherently under their breathe. After a while, they opened their eyes in sync and looked at one another, as if they had coincidentally wished for the same thing.
"What did you wish for, uncle Jiminie?" Taehyung questioned, moving forward to hold Jimin's hands.
"I wished that the trust I have on everyone doesn't get broken." Jimin replied.
But little did he know that wishes that were voiced out never came true.
And that a heartbreak would soon follow.
*******
Don't break me, I'm fragile.

A/n's note: I have something in mind- get ready y'all!
And wishing when a shooting star emerged was a myth that people during that time believed in.
