Curtain furls of darkness encompassed the void that was beginning to rupture in Jungkook's heart. The deafening silence at the horizon where lonely stars seemed to shine along the bright darkness shadowed at his feet, sending shivers down his spine.
Broken whispers of his past resurfaced in his mind, the unverbalized thoughts buried deeply, coming to life. He scrutinized the surroundings under his dilated gaze, away from everyone's vicious stares.
People were walking beside him as if he were invisible, and he looked at the receding group with the help of his distorted vision. Grey sky sweeped the pastel lands, and the heavy clouds mirrored the meloncholy music lingering in the air.
Amidst the unfamiliar shadows clamped against one another, Jungkook found his light.
In the middle of the contradictory gazes of the people, there was Jimin, with a tiny smile on his face. His eyes were creased at the ends as a consequence of his beam, and Jungkook found himself submitting to the happiness.
But again, it was the mere smile that enveloped the feeling of fear in Jungkook. He had another chance, but he didn't know if he could complete the quest. Fear trapped his body, triggering the beast inside him. Fragmented memories of his part stabbed his heart continuously, the invisible blood pouring out incessantly.
After all, he didn't know the difference between the fresh tears and rain. It was through the darkness that he spoke with his reflection that guided his future. It was through the paint brushes that he spoke with his emotions that painted his past. It was through the portrait that he spoke with himself that embodied his present.
He was taught that the darkness was beautiful, but at the same time, deceitful. It was just a lonely star that was an immaculate piece of art, and he being one, was a masterpiece.
The soft texture of his clothes grazed his warm skin, concealing the scars under the artificial covering. Jungkook visualised an eye under the moonlight that was huddled with dreamy stars.
A crescent shaped eye with a tiny stitches at the end. The pupils of those eyes, as dark as his heart, plunged him into the darkest caverns. There was a slight lining in the eye, even more lighter than the brightest darkness. The sclera of the eye gave an everlasting impression that he was crying, with crystals emerging from the heart devoid of sadness.
But, there was a tear drop coming from the eye in his vivid imagination.
And the tear drop was red in colour.
It was then he realized that it was a drop of blood.

Thirteenth century
"Daddy chim! Daddy kook!" Byeol ran around, with a huge smile on her face.
The nuclear family were taking a walk in the garden, with byeol running around for no apparent reason. Jungkook and Jimin could not help but smile appreciatively at their daughter's delightment, though they could not decipher the reason behind the vibrance.
"What's gotten you so excited, blackbird?" Jimin enquired, crouching down to ruffle byeol's hair.
"It won't be of any suprise if I reveal it to you,"byeol smiled cheekily.
"We said no secrets between us, blackbird. Come on, tell me. I'll see whether it's a good suprise," Jimin pursed his lips together.
"Daddy, how's it a suprise when I reveal it to you? And moreover, it's not a secret. It's a suprise. There's a major difference between the two,"byeol pouted slightly, squeezing the tiny bear wrapped protectively around her hand.
"Ok, big brain. I'll wait for the suprise. But you know I'm impatient," Jimin held her soft hands in his.
"What are you two talking about? Don't tell me you're plotting a murder against the fictional character that byeol is scared of," Jungkook entered the scenario, chuckling softly.
"Dad! I'm already over it. I killed the fictional character in my dreams,"byeol glared at Jungkook, but it moulded into a futile attempt of a cutie pie boring arrows of hearts into Jungkook.
"Why didn't you invite me for a celebration then?" Jimin feigned suprise, signalling Jungkook to do the same.
"I needed another person for the celebration and that person is coming today!"byeol blurted out, jumping slightly.
Jimin and Jungkook looked at one another frantically and cleared their throats to which byeol halted her emotions and focused on their reply.
"Who's coming? Why didn't you inform us about it? You know that you're not allowed to invite anyone over unless you get our permission," Jungkook enquired, his face completely serious.
"That was the suprise, daddy. Mister toot toot was coming today..."byeol trailed off, looking on the ground.
"Mister toot toot? Your friend?" Jimin questioned, scrunching his nose.
"Yes daddy chim. I invited him over for a play date. He told me that he was really lonely and that he needed someone to play with. So I volunteered. After all, you were the one who taught me that no one should be left alone and every good person in this world deserved everything,"byeol spoke out in a rush.
"But what if-"Jimin began, but was cut of by Byeol trying to convince the duo with her manipulative crystal eyes.
"I promise he is a good soul, daddy chim. He won't do anything. Even if he does, I'll teach him what has to be done and what has to be not,"byeol pleaded, her voice going ten octaves higher.
"Alright," Jimin gestured Jungkook to accept it. "But when will he come?"
"I think he will be here soon, daddy."byeol squealed, tying her tiny hands with Jimin.
Jimin sighed in relief at his daughter's happiness that collectively rose up from a gloomy face. Jungkook looked at Jimin accusingly for not supporting him, but he too could not help smiling
at his daughter's excitement. After all, it was mister toot toot's name that lighted up the whole universe in byeol's eyes.
"King, there's a visitor for you,"a servant entered the garden, bowing slightly.
"It's mister toot toot!"byeol exclaimed out of happiness.
"Send him in," Jungkook said, chuckling silently.
"Alright, king."the servant exited the garden and brought a small boy around byeol's age.
He hid under the curtains of the vibrant pastel land, with a huge boxy smile on his face. There was an aura of cheerfulness around him, like he were one in a million stars. He looked lost, but at the same time tried to converge with the new world he was entering.
"Mister toot toot!"byeol ran over to him, engulfing him in a huge hug.
"Byeol!" The young boy reciprocated the same delightment, running his hands through her soft hair in the hug.
"What's your name?" Jimin questioned as the duo separated themselves from the bone crushing hug.
"My name is Taehyung; Kim Taehyung. Byeol is my first friend and thank you for introducing her to this world," Taehyung spoke out mechanically, as if he had practiced a gazillion times for this.
"No need to be so formal. I'm happy the byeol found a wonderful friend like you," Jimin liked Taehyung instantly.
"Both of you are really lucky to have each other," Jungkook smiled at them proudly.
"Mister toot toot! Look, these are my parents. The muscular one is daddy kook and short one is daddy chim,"byeol pointed at Jungkook and Jimin.
"Yah! I'm not short. Who taught you to call me like that?" Jimin retaliated passively.
"Daddy kook told me that you love that nickname,"byeol stuck out her lips.
"Wha-"
"I'm sorry, chim. I couldn't help it,"Jungkook glanced at Jimin, smiling sheepishly. Jimin gestured to Jungkook that the altercation was not over and that it would continue later.
"Tell me more about you, Taehyung," Jungkook avoided Jimin's stare and averted the topic.
"What do you want to know about me? You already know that Namjoon is my dad,"Taehyung said, fiddling nervously with his fingers.
"Umm... What's your favourite colour?" Jungkook asked, while Jimin mentally facep almed himself. The conversation which was supposed to be versatile was becoming awkward by the minute.
"Black. Black is my favourite colour," Taehyung said, smiling softly without showing his teeth.
"Why is black your favourite colour? There are so many beautiful colours out there," Jimin locked eyes with Taehyung.
"Yes! We have purple, blue, pink, hue and many more!" Byeol nodded her head approvingly.
"Black is the only colour I know and see," Taehyung said, looking down, abhorrent to the ongoing discussion.
"That's the only colour you can see? I don't understand," Jungkook furrowed his brows together.
"Black is the only colour I know and see," Taehyung repeated the same thing again, and Jimin understood the vital meaning behind his sentence.
Taehyung was diagnosed with Achromatopsia.
*****
I want to see the world, but I can see only black and white.
*******
Achromatopsia is a condition characterized by a partial or total absence of color vision. People with complete achromatopsia cannot perceive any colours; they see only black, white, and shades of gray.
A/n's note: there's actually a hint in the fourth chapter.
Also, I'm excited for butter!
