Jimin opened his crusty eyes, plated with the overnight tears and blood that was shed along with the incessant pouring of rain. With the tiny stitches at the end of his eye suddenly throbbing, he pressed his fingers over them, only to end up in a futile attempt.
Oblivious to the surroundings he was in, he struggled to stand up erectly and wobbled for a minute. Instead of the usual hospital room he should have been in along with Jungkook beside him, Jimin found him in a completely different world.
With leaves hanging from trees to the lush green surroundings embedded with priceless gems, it was complete paradise. The wind bled along with the dewdrops that were slowly forming along the hued leaves.
The sky was saturated with a deep colour of red and yellow, and clouds where hovering over the land listlessly. There was no sign of life, for this is what paradise looked like.
The water that flowed along the rivers was as clear as crystallined crystals, and the faint sound of leaves rustling due to the subtle wind was pure bliss.
Jimin widened his eyes and staggered back, but, the more he tried to move, he felt something odd. It was as if he were inclined towards the center, as if gravity was the only thing that supported his whole existence.
Wasn't he supposed to die?
Or was this afterlife?
Was Jungkook safe?
Who was the killer?
Where was he?
A million questions ran through his head, widening the void of enigmas that tormented his weak heart. He yearned for answers, but never did they come to him.
"You're here already? You were scheduled to arrive here only after two hours..." Jimin heard a voice mumble, and at once, he averted his gaze to the worldwide handsome in front of him.
With plump eyes, high cheekbones and defined jawline, a man stood in front go him with an intimidating gaze though it only accentuated his cuteness even more.
With his hair dyed in a deep shade of pink, he looked at Jimin with a soft smile; a smile that conveyed consolation and warmth.
"Who are you?" Jimin muttered, fiddling with his fingers.
"Its not important to know about me when you're anyway going to forget about me soon," the man replied, his plump lips moving vigourously in response.
"Where am I?"Jimin questioned again.
"You're in my home,"he gestured towards the surroundings with a tiny smile.
"Your home? In the middle of nowhere?" Jimin asked, scrunching his nose.
"Let me reframe the sentence. My home is not in the middle of nowhere, your world is in the middle of my home," the man retorted.
"What? Who are you?"
"My name is Jin; Kim Seokjin," Jin replied with a proud smile.
"What do you do? Why am I here?"Jimin enquired, panicking like there was no tomorrow.
"I don't do anything. I guide people. To answer your second question, you are here for a purpose," Jin replied, coming closer to Jimin.
"How do you guide people?"he voiced out another query.
"Well, let me rephrase it once more. I control people," Jin replied. "I teach them what's right and what's wrong. Most importantly, I provide second chances," Jin replied, putting his hand over Jimin's shoulder.
"Second chances? Who really are you?" Jimin asked him, bemused at the revelation.
"I'm not someone you should know deeper about, Jimin," Jin chuckled lightly.
"How do you know my name?" Jimin widened his eyes, his emotions vividly showing trepidation.
"I know everything,"Jin replied. "I'm supposed to know everything."
"Why are you here? To help me?" Jimin relaxed his own self. For some odd reason, Jimin felt protected and safe.
"Not to help you, Jimin. I'm here to give you another chance," Jin replied, patting Jimin's back.
"But why are you giving me a second chance?" Jimin asked, suddenly shunned by the environment.
"Because you deserve it. You deserve to live," Jin replied.
"How do you know I deserve it? You barely know about me..." Jimin trailed off in confusion.
"I know everything about you." Jin said, as he clicked an anonymous button on his watch.
A projected light flashed across the pastel lands that hovered over the layers of sedimented and igneous rocks under the pressure of the humanity.
"Focus on the screen." Jin demanded, playing something.
Jimin nodded meekly and averted his gaze towards the screen.
He saw himself as a baby trying to take its first step without tumbling down to meet with the cold metallic floor.
He saw himself going through the phase of childhood and slowly learn the difference between life and death.
He saw himself reach maturity, after shedding tears, finally reaching the first step of failure after continuous years of success.
He saw himself as a baby trying to learn alphabets; as a boy trying to learn what success and failure was; as a teenager trying to learn what was the purpose of his life and finally as a man trying to learn to face all the hindrances and be able to take the knives.
He saw himself as a person slowly opening the door to his heart.
He saw himself as a person who finally learnt to love himself.
He saw himself as a man.
He saw himself as an epitome of success.
As the screen slowly morphed along with the surroundings that screened the vicinity, Jimin smiled lightly but there were questions bugging him as usual.
"You believe that I know everything about you?" Jin asked, tilting his head.
"But how? Who are you?" Jimin asked, completely flattered.
"You'll get to know about me soon," Jin replied.
"Why not now?" Jimin whined.
"You have a purpose to live your life, Jimin. You have to complete it to know about me," Jin tried to make him understand.
"What's that?" Jimin asked, eagerly.
"You have one chance," Jin began. "You have one chance to change the past, the present and the future. You have one day to go back and find out everything. You have just one day and twenty four hours to say goodbye to everyone."
Jin mumbled softly after the revelation, inaudible to Jimin,"After this, I'll let you know that I'm an angel here to save you."
