"Jungkook!"

"Jungkook! Stop roaming here and there!"

"Jungkook! I'm going to kill you if you don't come back here!"

"That's a plastic toy! Why do you want it?"

"I regret even bringing you here."

"Yah! That's not for you! That's for babies!"

Jimin let out an exasperated sigh and slumped on the chair that was adjacent to the huge roundabout. Screams of ecstasy and fear filled his ears, and he rubbed his temples slowly. Waiting for Jungkook to come, he knitted his eyebrows together, the rays of the sun seeping through his pupils.

It was all because of the police officer who pointed out the amusement park as an obvious place for criminals to hide and kill. Believing him, the due had been walking, more precisely, loitering through the wintry shades of people clad in vibrant clothes.

Despite the evident fact that this was not a place where the killer would be present, they looked at the receding shops with inquisitive and sharp eyes as Jimin tried his best to bring out his tyrant behaviour and stop Jungkook from getting all the things that he saw.

Children emerged from the gaily clad humanity, running around from the clutches of the parents towards the rides that screened the vicinity.

Besides the claps and shouts of delightment, Jimin tried to converge with the environment he was once repelled by. The silence he felt collided with his emotions, taking him to cloud nine. For a minute, he imagined absolute silence.

This was the silence he wanted.

This was the darkness he wanted to be encompassed in.

Just as he was about to close his eyes, an ear splitting shriek filled his ears. Jimin looked around frantically, widening his eyes.

"Hyung!"he heard a familiar voice emanate from somewhere from the crowds around a shop.

Pushing through the vibrant clothes, lost in his own darkness, Jimin strided towards where Jungkook was standing. Sweat accumulated on the edges of his forehead, and his cheeks where flushed out of constant fear.

If it had not been Jimin shouting out for Jungkook, he would have been caught in the stampede of the people.

"What happened?"he asked, panic stricken.

When there was no reply, he voiced out another time, this time more louder.

"What happened Jeon Jungkook!?" Jimin looked enraged.

As he pushed through the clothes, and after he finally reached the person who was the center of attention, Jimin let out a sigh of relief.

"Hyung!" Jungkook exclaimed, looking at Jimin.

The situation Jimin witnessed was a complete turmoil. Jungkook stood beside a man, with his shirt stained in a deep odourless hue. His face and hair was drenched with the same peculiar liquid, only this time, it was dripping down his hair, meeting with the dry eyelashes of his face and covering his whole body with the same liquid.

He had a look of complete disgust etched on his face, as his tongue reached out to lick the mysterious liquid. Beside Jungkook, was a man clad in white attire which was now stained with the indignant colour of yellow orche. He too had the same look of disgust, and Jimin could not help but reciprocate the same as the two men who stood in a fighting trance.

The sky seemed to mock their awkward situation, as a flock of feathers along with a bunch of crumpled leaves dropped from nowhere on to their faces and stuck like glue. Jungkook uncontrollably coughed, while Jimin, being the elder and responsible one went to his rescue.

"What happened?" Jimin questioned, locking his hands together.

"Let me say-"the man initiated, but Jungkook beat to it.

"He stole my banana milk,"

"What?" Jimin asked, raising his eyebrows in confusion.

"He stole my banana milk," Jungkook repeated the same thing.

"I-"

"He stole my banana milk," Jungkook cut Jimin off and repeated it again.

"So-"

"He stole my banana milk," Jungkook began to blabber on continuously.

"What ha-"

"He stole my banana milk,"he fiddled nervously with his fingers.

Only this time, Jimin had noticed that Jungkook's gaze was elsewhere. It was not on him, nor on the confused man, but somewhere away from everyone. It was fixated on the toy shop almost ten feet away, oblivious to everyone's gaze at the ongoing drama.

Jimin understood that somehow, Jungkook was forced to change his words under the given circumstances. His pupils dilated under complete trepidation, and he gulped nervously, his Adam apple bobbing while doing so.

His gaze kept faltering, and Jimin could not decipher his emotions. The more fear met Jungkook's body, the same amount was transferred to Jimin too, as he was convulsed in fear.

Jungkook gaze kept shortening, until it was almost just three feet away. His breath hitched in the place, and sweat started to drip along with the liquid. His hands began to shiver, splashing some of the cold lava to the desks and chairs adjacent to where they were standing. Jimin staggered back, looking at Jungkook's aghast expression.

It had to do something with the killer.

He had two choices.

It was either the killer was there, or someone whom he loathed was in front of his partner.

But little did Jimin know that he was both of them.

He stood in a protective stance in front of Jungkook, as the younger tried his level best to push Jimin from his position. Jungkook was determined to not harm Jimin while on the other hand, Jimin was focused on saving the younger.

But deep down, they knew that only one could be saved.

Within a flash, Jimin saw a razor pass through the crowds, piercing through the air and focusing its target on Jungkook who was frozen in his spot. Jimin looked back and forth, not able verbalise any of the thoughts running through his head at the crucial moment.

It was either do or die.

Without wasting a millisecond, Jimin rocketed in front of Jungkook and closed his eyes for the undeniable painful catastrophic event to take place.

Jimin was defenceless and Jungkook was helpless.

It was just a mere second for the razor to pass through Jimin's lower part of the heart, missing it by merely two inches. A loud sound of agony erupted through the crowds, as the clouds reciprocated the same by pouring the pitter patter of rain.

The knife kissed every part of his insides, bubbling up pain that Jimin wished to dissipate in a moment. Tears brimmed at the edges of his eyes, as he felt warm and soft tears falling from Jungkook's eyes.

He choked on his own blood, as Jungkook held Jimin's fragile body, supporting it with every ounce of energy he had left.

"Hyung." Jungkook cried out, his tears turning crimson red as they mixed with Jimin's.

It was the eerie silence that filled the place with the rain falling down that shook the entire group of bystanders. Jungkook's wailing along with Jimin's smile through the excruciating pain was the only emotion that could be felt through the million hearts.

"I'll be fine..." Jimin trailed off, clutching his heart that was clenching with pain.

It was at these words that Jungkook's heart broke into two, and that sound could be heard my Jimin whom he shared a poignant smile with.

Everything was sudden.

One minute, they were arguing over the person who stole the banana milk and now, they were completely filled with remorse.

The rain morphed with their melancholy feelings, and Jungkook held Jimin's hand tightly in his grasp. The neither of them wanted to leave each other's side, but deep in their heart, Jimin knew that one would die.

The leaves rustled under the subtle air that blew along the wintry clouds that wrapped up everyone in fear. Jimin closed his eyes slowly, his filmy vision no longer constituting to his life. The cries had converged with the rain and his pain had dissipated slowly just like his heart beats.

As Jimin struggled to open his eyes for one last time too look at Jungkook, he came in contact with a man covered in a white mask.

He was the masked swan.

Jimin closed his eyes again, with great difficulty and remorse taking over his body. The air seemed to play the tune of his life, with beats as soft as the echo that strived to live with Jimin.

Everything was numb. He could only feel the texture of Jungkook's soft hands. Drops of tears and rain fell on his body, as the blood seeped through the darkest caverns and the brightest shadows.

This was Jimin's fate. He clutched on to Jungkook's hand tightly, as he merely whispered something.

"Stay safe... From him," But Jimin didn't know whether everything was halted or was at the process of nurturing.

"I'll save you for sure!" Jungkook cried through his tears, his heart rippling and clenching. He could not hear or feel anything except the immense pain of the elder.

Jimin had sacrificed his life to save Jungkook.

He very well knew that Jungkook could not save him, for he had already lost considerable amount of blood, but hope still prevailed in his body. Jimin slowly loosened his fingers from Jungkook's hand, and listened to the tune of the air.

The music in the air gradually began to beat slower.

It was then that Jimin realized that those beats belonged to his heart.
