"Good morning," Jimin said to no one in particular, as he held a cup of coffee in his hand. His slim fingers perfectly captured the handle of the cup, but due to his deprived energy in the morning, all his movements were shaky.
"Good morning, hyung," Jungkook leaned on the counter, drinking water. His eyes were puffy, and his lips were bulged, but they were tinted in red. His hair was ruffled and the first two buttons of his silk pajama were open. With the muscular chest in full view to the elder, Jimin gulped nervously, almost choking on his drink.
"Did you find out anything?" Jimin asked, directly thinking about work. He needed to distract himself from the muscle pig and could not think of any other lame excuse.
"Nothing much," Jungkook replied, still in a daze.
"Tae said that you were working on something yesterday," Jimin raised his eyebrows in suspicion.
"Oh, I almost forgot. I found out about a particular pattern in the placement of the bodies," Jungkook spoke up, his voice inquisitive.
"What kind of a pattern?" Jimin asked, placing the cup on the counter.
"One second hyung. Let me bring the photos." Jungkook said, as he dashed towards the table where the files were placed.
Ruffling for quite some time, he brought the files out and headed towards where Jimin was standing and cogitating the contradictions that ran through his head.
"Ah... Here it is," Jungkook mumbled under his breath, as his hands traced the pattern. Jimin peeked to take a look at what Jungkook was stating, and immediately got absorbed into his theory.
"I think the killer wants to convey something," Jimin said, scrunching his nose in disgust at the almost decomposed body captured as a photo.
"Like I said, he is doing it deliberately. He is after someone and we need to find out the person before it puts them in peril," Jungkook reprimanded, nodding subtly.
"We need to find out about this before he kills someone again," Jimin said, massaging his temples.
"I don't think he will kill again," Jungkook said, trying to voice out his theory.
"How are you sure?" Jimin questioned, abhorrent to his idea.
"Have you ever noticed of the days he killed?"
"You mean there's a pattern even in the days?" Jimin enquired, intruiged by his knowledge.
"Yes hyung. I feel like there's a theory," Jungkook said, looking through the files.
"Tell me your theory,"
"All the people were killed after a break of five days," Jungkook spoke out, trying to explain his perspective.
"I don't think it's true," Jimin said, as Jungkook's face fell in an instant.
"I just stated my theory, hyung," Jungkook said sulkily, almost whining.
"Well, that is true but your theory is wrong," Jimin tried to make him understand.
"How are you so sure that it's wrong?" Jungkook knitted his eyebrows together, with a pout etched on his face.
"The last person was killed the day after the previous victim," Jimin stated, carefully studying the dates on the files.
"Then, how does the theory go?" Jungkook asked, tired of all the futile assumptions.
"I'll try to figure it out, but it will be better to take a look at the bodies before jumping into conclusions," Jimin said, as Jungkook nodded, adhering to the elder's idea.
"But, hyung, almost all the bodies are decomposed except for the recent one," Jungkook said, fiddling with the hem of his shirt.
"Then that's the one we are going to look at," Jimin said, adjusting his shirt.
"When are me moving?" Jungkook questioned, his energy now revived.
"Sharp at eleven," Jimin said, moving away.
"Ok-"
"I'll be blunt at eleven!" Taehyung's deep voice resonated from the bedroom.
"Taehyung!" Jimin snarled, almost growling.

The intoxicating smell of dried blood, and bloated tissues travelled up the duo's noses, as the either of them wore a mask to suppress the pungent smell. The body of the deceased laid in one of the boxes which were ready for cremation. The room's temperature was dropped to minus three degrees as Jungkook and Jimin shivered even under the layers of warm cardigans.
The room was as devoid and emotionless as the young boy whose body laid lifeless in front of their eyes.
The autopsy results were in their hands, and Jungkook placed them down on the table to get a better look at the dead body.
Exactly through the heart, the bullet passed through, making a tiny hole due to the large momentum, tearing the tissues and nerves apart and shredding it into pieces.
Blood had apparently splattered throughout the whole body, because there was a trail of it through the path of the chest. One of the nipples were coated with blood, while the other was torn apart.
According to autopsy reports, the bullet was seemingly never found. This proved to be a major drawback for the duo, as they knew that the type of ammunition used could be figured out only from the bullet. Whether it be a revolver or a sling, every ammunition had different types of bullets which could be easily traced to its origin.
But in this case, nothing was going their way.
"Hyung, I'll just examine the body," Jungkook said, moving towards the body.
"Alright. But be careful and wear gloves so you don't catch anything," Jimin said, examining the files for the last time.
Jungkook nodded his head, and headed towards the corpse, wearing gloves and covered in the typical suit. He discreetly observed the body for quite a while, opening the lifeless black holes and looking for evidences. But the more he hunted, he felt repelled by the mysterious atmosphere it was emanating.
"What's the age of the boy precisely?" Jimin asked the doctor who was standing at the corner of the room.
"I had a copy of his shoe's footprints. In the lower part of the shoe, I noticed that its size was twelve. So, by estimations, he must be around nineteen or twenty," The doctor replied, adjusting his coat.
"Hmm... Alright. Thank you," Jimin said, nonchalant to the doctor's words. He had been looking into the date of deaths for quite a while and he was pondering over a question.
There seemed to be a particular pattern for the deaths, and he racked his brain for it. As he browsed through his phone for any connections, he came across something peculiar.
All the people were killed on a day where some of the constellations were significant.
Basically, all the deaths were related to the formation of constellations.
And the next death was today according to the constellation.
