Chapter Two
I do not own the characters
Percy started at the letter in her hand, she just couldn't believe her eyes. For the first time since the battle she felt the numbness slowly retreat. Honestly, she was just glad that a school had accepted her. Her school records weren't the best and neither were her grades so when she found out that she had been accepeted into a school, even if it was in Blüdhaven, she was happy. It wasn't that she was looking forward to school, but she would hate to be rejected by every school she applied for. She smiled and did a small victory dance, something she hadn't done in a long time. Percy immedietly opened her monster-proof laptop and began to search for apartments close to Blüdhaven University. She tied her hair up into a quick ponytail and continued to look through the web. She scrolled and scrolled trying to find something reliable. She knew what type of city Blüdhaven was, and it wasn't a nice one. She knew that she would have to use her training, how else would she defend herself. Great idea, Percy. Move to a super dark city while trying to get over their deaths.
Percy knew it wasn't the best idea, but at least she'd have a new start there. Scroll. Click. Click. Scroll. Scroll. Click. Scroll. Pling? Right, the oven, Percy reminded herself. It was time for lunch. Percy grabbed an oven mit and opened the oven, pulling out a plate of lettovers. As the food cooled down Percy filled a glass with water and set it on the table. Then she went to one of the drawers and grabbed a fork and a knife. She sat the eating the utensils on the table and moved her laptop to the side. When the plate with food had cooled down she set it down on the table and dug into her food. Gods, she was hungry.
She continued to look at apartments even as she ate. By the time that she had finished eating Percy had finally found an apartment. She smiled and turned the laptop off. She walked to the dishwasher with the plate and other eating things and put them in the dishwasher. After turning the dishwasher on she walked to her room and started packing. It wasn't like she had any furniture so it all fit in a bag, a kinda big bag that is.
She stuffed clothes and a someother stuff before throwing the bag onto the bed. Time to get planning. How would she get to Blüdhaven, she didn't have a car or anything like that? She knew that she needed to use some form of public transportation, but which one? After some pondering she decided to take the train to Blüdhaven.
Percy unlocked her phone (also monster-proof) and booked a ticket to Blüdhaven via train. Apparently the next train left tomorrow, so she had time to think and whatnot.

The next day Percy was woken up by her ever so annoying alarm clock. She groaned and turned it off. Percy felt her heavy eye lids starting to close when she tried to shake herself awake. She blinked several times, shook her head back and forth and got out of the bed. She put on a dark blue shirt and a pair of black jeans before stepping out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.
Percy made herself a quick sandwich which she, obviously, ate. Percy then put the plate in the dishwasher and grabbed her bag.
Time to get going.
She pulled on a pair of sneakers and a thin coat. With that she walked out of the apartment she had rented and walked to the train station that really wasn't that far away. As she walked down the streets she lowered her head slightly, trying not to gather attention. Luckily it wasn't raining, it was actually quite sunny. She walked at a normal pace, it wasn't as if she were in a rush.
The buzz of the city felt so familiar, and so far away. Like a distant memory, like she was encased in her own little bubble. Ignore, ignore, ignore.
Her eyes darted around and she realized nothing was out of the ordinary. It was a normal day, at least for them. They were the same as they had been before the battle, before Percy found her parents murdered. Nothing had changed in the city, the only change was in Percy's mind.
She continued to walk, trying to ignore her own thoughts. The thoughts grew louder as she tried to ignore them, louder and louder. Finally, she just gave in and stopped trying to ignore them. The volume lowered and it was slightly more manageable.
When she arrived at the train station the thoughts had disappeared. Percy found it ... weird. Thoughts can have so much control, yet the most powerful ones only last for a certain amount of time, usually short.
She spotted the train that she was to board and waited until you were allowed to board it. Surprisingly, the wait wasn't too long and Percy found herself sitting in a seat, looking out the window. Someone said several things over the intercom and the train started moving. She looked at the city rushed by, slightly blurred. Then green replaced it. Trees, grass, bushes and other nature-y things.
Percy smiled softly and once again felt the numb feeling starting to retreat, and treasured the feeling, as she knew that the cold, numbness would soon return.
