As Luz continued to fall deeper under the influence of Darth Nihilus's spirit, Emperor Belos was plotting his next move towards his master plan. As he does so, Kikimora: one of Emperor Belos's chief lieutenants enters the throne room and bows before the Emperor.

Kikimora: I am pleased to inform you that my assignment was a success.

Belos: Very good, Kikimora. The Golden Guard is still out on his assignment. He should return momentarily.

Kikimora: Apologies for speaking out of turn, but can we really trust the Golden Guard?

Belos: How many times must I say this, Kikimora? The Golden Guard has an important role in the days to come.

Kikimora: Yes, my lord.

Suddenly, the Coven Captain who was involved in the attack on the Owl House rushes into the throne room.

Coven Captain: Your highness! Your highness! I.....I.....

It was clear to Belos and Kikimora that something was wrong with Captain.

Belos: Calm yourself, my friend. Take a deep breath and collect your thoughts.

The Coven Captain follows Belos's instruction and takes a deep breath. He then takes a moment to collect his thoughts.

Belos: Now tell me what bothers you?

Coven Captain: There...there was an altercation with the Owl Lady. My forces were about to overwhelm her. Then....then....

Kikimora: Speak up before your emperor.

Coven Captain: Then the Human showed up! She held out her hand and used some sort of magic to drain the life out of the Abomatons! Turned them into withered husks! I tried to kill her, but she overpowered me! I...I thought she was going to kill me...

It was at that moment that the Coven Captain dropped to his knees and broke down in tears, traumatized by what he had just endured. As the Coven Captain wept at the Emperor's feet, Belos places a hand on the captain's shoulder.

Belos: Calm yourself, my friend. Your suffering is over. I cannot imagine the horror you have witnessed. You were right to come to me. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Rest assured that this matter will be taken care of. Now take some time to recuperate.

Coven Captain: T...thank you, Emperor Belos.

The traumatized Coven Captain then leaves the throne room, leaving Belos with much to think about. The power that the Coven Captain described was very similar to Belos's own magic for draining the life from Palismen.

Belos: Now this is so most interesting development.

Kikimora: If what the captain said is true, then the Human poses an even greater threat than previously imagined.

Belos: It would appear so. Whatever magic this Human uses, it's beyond wild magic. It would appear that she is not dabbling in dark magic. Perhaps even in possession of some artifact of a dark nature. 

Kikimora: Should I assemble a squad to dispatch the Human?

Belos: No. That would be a fatal mistake. If we attempt to attack her, our forces would fall to her dark magic. We must plan our approach carefully. 

As Belos says this, he carefully thinks of his next move. It was clear that Luz's powers were unnatural. Whatever power it was, it was the kind of power that could potentially threaten him. He knew not to underestimate Luz. As he thought of his options, he thought of a plan that could bring Luz to him.

Belos: Focus your efforts on finding and capturing the Human's friends and allies. The Owl Lady and her pet Demon. The two Hexide students she hangs around with. Even the Blight girl. 

Kikimora: Are you sure targeting the Blight girl is wise, my lord? The Blights will not take too kindly to this. 

Belos: You raise a valid point. The Blight Family have wealth and influence that is quite useful to us. With that being said, not even the Blights would dare question the Voice of the Titan. 

Kikimora: As you say, my lord. 

Belos: I want them all brought to me alive. This will lure the Human to us. Make her come to us where we will fight her on our own terms. 

Kikimora: And what of her powers?

Belos: I will begin preparations to ensure that her powers will be of no use to her. 

Belos soon began laying the groundwork for his plan against Luz. He would arrange for her allies and friends to be captured in an attempt to draw her own and force her into an unfavorable position. Once that happened, he would then defeat Luz and take the dark artifact. Belos was contemplating what to do with this dark artifact when he got his hands on it. He wonder if such an artifact would be useful to him in the long run. But for now, such things were of little consequence to the Emperor. He focused on the immediate threat at hand. 

Belos: Gather a squadron of your finest. Capture the Owl Lady and the others. And remember, I want them brought to me alive. No executions. 

Kikimoroa: As you wish. 

With that, Kikimora leaves the throne room to gather the finest within the Emperor's Coven with the task of capturing Luz's allies and friends in an attempt to draw her out. As for Emperor Belos, he would wait patiently for his plan to be executed. He would use this time to prepare for Luz's arrival. But no amount of preparation would prepare Emperor Belos for the horrors that he was about to unleash upon himself.
