The battle between Luz and Emperor Belos had begun. Luz lunges at Belos and drains a small portion of his life energy. Belos was able to fight Luz off and push her back. Belos quickly realized that this fight would not be like the last time. The power Luz had was equal to his own. Belos unleashes a blast of powerful magic from his mechanical staff, but Luz absorbs the magic and dispels it back onto Belos. Luz then charges at Belos and attacks him with the magic sword, but Belos blocks it with his staff.

Belos: Impressive power, Human. But it will not defeat me so easily.

Luz/Darth Nihilus: I will feed.....

Luz then unleashes a blast of crimson lightning on Belos, but Belos summons a protective barrier to protect himself. As Luz and Belos battled each other, Eda and the others watched in shock.

Gus: Whoa! She's...she's holding her own against the Emperor!

Eda: This is bad. That mask is burning through Luz's body.

Willow: How is that possible?!

Eda: No idea. I'm gonna guess that the spirit in that mask has something planned. And it's not going to end well for Luz. That spirit is using Luz's body like a parasite. Once it's done, it'll move on to the next host.

King: You mean we're actually rooting for the Emperor?!

Eda: I'm not saying that, but we're in a bad position. If Belos wins, we lose Luz. But if Luz wins, then whatever spirit is in that mask is gonna continue to use Luz's body until there's nothing left.

Upon hearing this, Amity became deeply concerned for Luz. She wanted to help Luz, but there was nothing she could do. She would simply get in the way. Back at the fight, Belos continues to use his artificial magic at Luz, but the powers granted to her by Darth Nihilus's spirit allowed her to absorb and consume the magic with ease.

Belos: Such power....it should not exist!

Luz/Darth Nihilus: You know nothing of true power.....

As Luz charges at Belos, Belos uses Earth Magic to raise sharp spikes of rock up from the ground. As the sharp rocks move against Luz, Luz unleashes a primal and inhuman scream which shatters the rocks. Belos attempts to blindside Luz by using his Beast Summoning Magic to summon a large monster to attack Luz. As the monster charges at Luz, Luz raises both her hands and proceeds to drain the monster completely of it's life energy, leaving nothing but a withered husk. It was in that moment that Belos began to feel something that he had not felt in decades: fear. Despite his fear, Belos continued to fight Luz. But as the fight dragged on, Belos began to falter as his own power began to fail him while Luz's power seemed to be limitless.

Belos: Enough of this madness!

Belos then uses his Flesh Magic to attack Luz with fleshy tendrils. He wraps them around Luz and attempts to rip the mask off of her. This attempt quickly failed as Luz grabs one of the tendrils and begins to drain Belos of his life energy. Belos was quick to release Luz. As Luz recovers from the earlier attack, the spirit of Darth Nihilus guides Luz's actions. She once more lunges at Belos and attacks him with the magic sword. As the fight continued, Belos could feel himself growing more and more exhausted. The prolonged fighting along with Luz draining portions of his life energy left Belos exhausted as he could barely defend himself. In a last ditch effort to kill Luz, Belos unleashes a powerful blast of magic on Luz. Luz's body vanished amid the blinding light of the magic being used. After a moment, Belos relents, thinking he had killed Luz.

Belos: Ash to ash....dust to dust....

But as the smoke cleared, Belos is horrified to see Luz unfazed by the attack.

Belos: No...impossible...

Before Belos could finish his sentence, Luz grips him with Force Choke and begins to thrash Belos around the throne room. She then unleashes crimson lightning on Belos. The pain from the attack causes the Emperor to scream in agonizing pain. After that, Belos was weakened as he attempts to crawl away from Luz. Luz quickly catches up with Belos and grips him with Force Choke as she lifts him in the air. Emperor Belos was gripped with fear as he struggled to breathe.

Belos: What....what are you?

Luz/Darth Nihilus: I am the darkness in which all life dies. All life exists simply to sacrifice itself to me....you are mine now.....

Under the control of Darth Nihilus's spirit, Luz then begins transferring her essence onto the weakened Belos. It was at this moment that Darth Nihilus's endgame was revealed. With Luz's body deteriorating, Darth Nihilus was in the process of transferring his own essence onto Emperor Belos to not only gain control of his body, but to rebirth himself and grant himself a physical body using the combined magical powers of both Luz and Emperor Belos. But before the plan could be carried out, Amity steps in and confronts Luz.

Amity: Let go of my Luz!

As Amity attempts to attack Luz, Luz unleashes a torrent of crimson lightning on Amity which blasts her back several feet. Luz then lets go of Belos and moves on Amity. She then picks up Amity and is about to begin draining Amity of her life energy. She hesitates for a moment. Amity looks into Luz's eyes and sees that they've reverted back to their original hazel color. The eye color then reverts backs to the fiery yellow eyes. Before Luz could do anything, large vines sprout up from the ground and restrain Luz, forcing her to let go of Amity. Soon enough, Eda along with King, Willow and Gus join Amity in confronting Luz. In that moment, Amity and the others found themselves forced to fight Luz who was now under the full control of Darth Nihilus's spirit who was on the verge of being reborn.
