"Are we seriously talking about astrology again?" Toral asked, raising an eyebrow at Eleanor and Sutton.
For some reason the frequent posts on Instagram about zodiac signs had intrigued half of the squad to dive deep into the glory of astrology.
Eleanor let out a small laugh, "See, that's a classic Aries response. We're just having a bit of fun," she told her. She was sat next to Sutton, the two of them looking intently at the phone between them, and the horoscope on it.
"It says here that you're going to have an unusual encounter with someone you didn't expect," Sutton read off the screen, looking up at Toral with a grin on his face, "I think we know who that will refer to."
Toral rolled her eyes, "I feel like you're reading into things that don't exist, Sutton. Either that or you're projecting your own desires onto me," she told him.
"Enough of that, it says here that if you're an Aquarius, you will have some excitement entering their life shortly, looks like I'm in luck," Eleanor interrupted, seeming satisfied with how her horoscope was turning out.
Toral let out a sigh, running a hand through her black hair. She had taken a shower and now was in the living room with the others in her pjs and opened up hair. Usually she had Colette to back her up whenever they talked about astrology. She hoped she would return soon, she seemed to be taking longer than she usually did.
"Shouldn't we think of ways to start advertising, instead of looking at how Sutton is going to come into good fortune during the coming weeks?" Toral pointed out, looking between the two of them.
"Actually, I think you'll find that it says here that Leo's are going to have a meaningful life event," Sutton replied, although the hard look on Toral's face made him trail off, "Yes, we should definitely think about advertising," he added.
"When Colette and I were looking for roommates, we started by putting out social media adverts," Eleanor began, looking between the two of them, "So that's something we can do. We could also put up posters at the student union, or at the post office down the road."
Toral nodded, "Yeah, that sounds good. If we organise what we want to say, then we can get around to actually advertising once Colette gets home and we can check it with her," she suggested.
"I could design some posters, if you want," Sutton offered, a small smile on his face. He was often very creative in his spare time, and he wanted to be able to contribute in whatever way he could. In the past he tried to create many posters with InDesign, which had lead to multiple attacks of tears and phases of frustration, but know he was pretty good at it and considered it to be one of his special talents.
Eleanor grinned at him, "Yes, that would be good, thank you," she replied, seeming grateful that they were so willing to help, "Colette will be happy that we're getting a great start on this."
Toral sat up straight and reached for Sutton's phone. "I need to check my agenda," she stated and looked at the screen.
"Having your agenda on my phone is such an Aries thing to do," he said to her with a grin.
"I feel like if someone were to murder someone and you were the judge taking on that case, all the lawyer would have to do is say that the culprit is an Aries and you would let them go with no jail time," Toral sighed.
Sutton shook his head with a grin, "No I only would let them go, if they were a Taurus."
It was at that point when the doorbell rang. Eleanor stood up, running her hand through her hair, "That will be Colette," she stated, heading to the door, "We can update her on the adverts we've planned," she added.
What Eleanor was not expecting, however, was for someone else to be with Colette.
"Who's this?" she asked, raising a sceptical eyebrow at Colette. It wasn't like her to bring boys home, Eleanor wasn't even sure if Colette was into boys or not.
"This is our lodger," Colette told her decisively, walking into the apartment and taking off her coat, "At least, temporarily," she clarified.
The boy followed her in, looking a little sheepish and awkward, as if he wasn't sure what to do with himself. "Hi," he said, after a pause, looking at Eleanor, who decided not to comment on his strange clothing.
"Oh," was all that came out of her mouth at first, as she struggled to think of what to say. She had been so wound up planning how to advertise that the thought of Colette finding someone on her own hadn't occurred to her. She then blinked, realising her rudeness, "Sorry, hello. I'm Eleanor," she told him, forcing a smile onto her face.
"Kaspar," he replied, nodding to her, "It's a pleasure to meet you," he added, glancing around the apartment with curiosity on his face.
"What's this?" called a voice, and Eleanor turned to see Sutton entering the hallway, closely followed by Toral. Colette was busy relaying instructions to Kaspar, who looked up and smiled slightly as he saw Sutton.
"Colette has found us our new roommate," she told them simply, folding her arms. She bit her lip, refraining herself from saying any more.
Sutton's eyebrows furrowed slightly, "Really? But I thought we were going to - never mind," he said, leaning against the wall as he watched Kaspar. "I mean, he seems nice enough. Fits our diversity quota," he pointed out.
"I thought you said we would all get a choice in this matter," Toral added, looking at Eleanor, eyes narrowed slightly.
"That's what I thought," she replied, letting out a small sigh, "But I haven't spoken to Colette yet, so hopefully she'll have a reasonable explanation for this," she added.
"I'm sure she will. At least this saves us any extra work," Sutton added, smiling at the two of them. "I think I'll go introduce myself," he then told them, walking over to speak to Kaspar.
Toral ran a hand through her hair, looking over at Eleanor, "Do we even know anything about this guy?" she asked, "For all we know she could've just picked some murderer off the streets and welcomed him into our home."
"I know, I know," Eleanor said, rubbing the back of her neck, "I'll speak to her. We'll speak to her, if you want to come too," she told her, "Let's just hope that her judgement isn't wrong."
