You were gathering berries in the forest, planning to make a nice berry pie

Suddenly you got that feeling again, the feeling of being watched

You have been feeling like this all day. At first, you thought it was the bullies and their leader but they screamed and ran away when you tried to confront them. 
That's when the panic set in, who could it be? If it wasn’t some dumb kids. Who was watching you?

Could it be an old man waiting to kidnap you in the dead of night? possibly a wild dog ready to pounce on you and rip you to shreds? You didn’t know and that made you anxious

You were too caught up in your head that you didn’t notice a figure creeping up behind you

You jumped as a hand landed on your shoulder

You turned around to see the girl from last night, you could see her face much better now

She was slightly hunched over, her hair twisted and done in a way that made it look like a witches’ hat with faint purple streaks mixed in, her jaw was shifted to the left making her bottom lip stick out, a small red bag held up by a brown string and had big brown doe eyes that stared at you

She flinched a little as you moved your hand to cover your face
You groaned into your hand
‘That was so embarrassing’ You thought

“Sorry for startling you, I just wanted to talk to you”

Mary murmured as she played with the fabric of her dress

You sighed as you collected yourself and looked at the girl in front of you

“So what did you want to talk about?” You asked

The girl suddenly looked panicked, She had to make up an excuse to her sisters to get out of the house, and build up the courage to be anywhere near you, and now that she finally convinced herself to talk to you she realized something

She didn’t know what to talk about

She mentally cursed herself for not thinking this far ahead but in all honesty, she didn’t think she would get this far

You jumped as the girl suddenly blurted out multiple excuses, tears streamed down her face as she apologized for wasting your time
You were extremely scared and didn’t know what to do so you did the only logical thing your brain could make up

The girl’s cries were cut short as arms wrapped around her small body, pulling her close and placing her head atop their chest, The girl relaxed in your arms and wrapped her arms around your waist

You both sat there, standing in eachothers arms. Not knowing what to do.
You both quickly let go of eachother when you heard children playing by you, not wanting them to get the wrong idea

“I-I should go..” Mary sputtered as she looked at the direction the kids were before running away

“WAIT” You tensed as you saw the girl turn around, you hadn’t meant to say it so loud

“W-what is your name” You started to get nervous as the small children stopped playing and turned towards you

“My name is Mary” You jumped, the girl was way closer than before, your noses almost touching

She suddenly placed something in your hands and ran away into woods

“MY NAME IS Y/N” You yelled, hoping she heard you

You looked at the strange object in your hand, it was a small doll that looked exactly like you. You felt like you should be scared and avoid Mary but this small gift only made you want to see her again

Putting the doll into your pocket, you walked past the confused children and onto the path to the village
