DEATH HAD BEEN AROUND PERCY COOPER'S LIFE SINCE HE WAS 8 YEARS OLD. The night that his father murdered someone in cold blood. He remembered it all, the screaming, the bloodshed, sirens. Everything else was blur after that.

With a choice of serving as a familiar, or facing almost certain death, Percy swears loyalty to Laszlo Cravensworth and Nadja of Antipaxos. Maybe this may be the answer he'd been searching for?
