Chapter 6: I'm Not Bad

A Vigilante? I'm a Vigilante? You might as well call me a villain. I look at her. "Why would they think he's a villain?"

She shrugs. "It says that Marvelous Man is a man that needs to be stopped before Non-Humans think they actually can do things with their powers. Non-humans are people diagnosed with a curse that can't go away.

Marvelous Man shouldn't be roaming around the streets with a mask and a power that makes him practically a god. I personally think that this Vigilante shouldn't be in our great city." She reads.

"That sounds messed up to kick him out just 'cause he's a Non-Human with a purpose." I said. I'm totally speaking from my mind. This article basically said that I'm a non-human with a purpose and that's bad. Just because I wear a mask and my powers are unknown by the government I'm bad?

Just because I didn't follow the government rules I'm bad? "I think that he's a good guy. Just because he wears a mask doesn't make him a bad person. Just because he's a Non-Human that could save people doesn't mean he's a bad person.

I bet you if another non-human like him came out, but that non-human was in the military, they wouldn't say anything. But just because he has unknown powers, he should be kicked out of the city? No. People like him are people that need to stay to protect all the citizens of Franklin City."

She starts light clapping. "Wow. You make a good point. But I think you're right. I don't think he's a bad guy. Sure, he hurt those criminals robbing the bank some time ago, but he's not a bad guy. Plus, he's kinda cute."

I try not to say anything. "This guy's on news right now." She said shocked. We both run downstairs to turn on the TV. "On today's news, Non-Human named Marvelous Man roams the street stopping petty crimes, but the question is, What is he? Hero or Vigilante? Switching to Mike Grayson, Give us details Mike."

"Well, today, Over 100 police officers have reported a man named Marvelous Man, a non-human who uses his powers not as a burden, but as a hero. Today we have Vice-Mayor Charles Watterson speaking out about this man."

I'm so mad. After waking up at 12, after skipping school, this is my thank you? "I think that Marvelous Man shouldn't be roaming in the streets fighting criminals. I personally think he should leave that to the cops.

Just because you're a non-human doesn't make you invincible. You are technically still a citizen of Franklin City and just because you are a non-human doesn't mean you can break the rules.

I have some questions for Marvelous Man, If he calls himself a hero, then why wear a mask? Why do you want to do what you do? You're not a cop or in the military so why do it? My point is, Marvelous Man is dangerous with dangerous powers and should be stopped immediately."

I try my best not to punch the tv and break it. I can't believe the Vice-Mayor thinks I'm dangerous. That's it. I need to prove to him and all the other police officers and citizens that I'm not bad.

"Wow. I can't believe someone would say something like that. I mean, sure we don't know a lot about him, but he's not dangerous." I nod my head. "I should really get going, sorry we didn't get to work on the project. We can do this tomorrow." She says I nod and she leaves to get a ride from her dad.

I fly my way to Jordan's house mad and I get into his basement. "Bro, have you seen the news?" Jordan asked. "Yeah. It's bad. They think I'm a 'menace to society and I need to be stopped.' They think I'm a Vigilante man."

Jordan sighs. "Bro, I know this is bad, but we can fix this. Think about it. The Vice-Mayor thinks that you're not any different from the other non-humans and other stuff. But as long as we prove him wrong, we can stay."

"I know that, but I don't know how to prove him wrong. Like, what do I do?" I said. "Simple, just keep fighting crime. But I don't mean just petty little crimes, if we are gonna prove him wrong, we have to take down one of the biggest problems in Franklin City that not even the police can solve."

I start thinking of a crime that has been bugging Franklin City. Then it hits me. "The Southside Savages." Jordan gasps. The Southside Savages are a group of criminals who do nothing but steal and kill. The've been bugging Franklin City residents since 1956, just 20 years after Franklin City was founded.

"Yes! That's it. As long as we get those guys out of here and in jail, the Vice-Mayor would have nothing to say." Jordan says happily. "Okay. That's the plan. But we don't know where their hideout is.

He does that grin. That 'I know everything grin.' "Actually, I know where they are." He goes to his computer. "Okay, so they are obviously in the southside of Franklin City."

He starts looking for some places that they might be. "Okay. Got it. It says that they are living in the old shoe factory on South Broadway." I get in my suit. "Okay. I'm ready. Let's talk about the plan."

We start to think, but it was interrupted by an alarm on my phone. "Crap, car theft in progress on Main Street. Gotta go. But tell me the plan while I stop this crime."

I go to main street and I see a car going 80. "I've gotta prove I'm not a bad person." I speed up my flight and get down near the car. "Hey, I don't know about you, but I don't think stealing people's cars is a good thing to do."

"You're Marvelous Man!" He says thrilled. "Aww. No autographs please. I'm flattered, you're too kind." I stand in front of the car and stop it.

He keeps trying to drive. "It's pointless, you should know that." The cars front start to break. Then I have the funniest idea ever. I get out of the way and he starts driving into a building. But then I get him out of the car and take the car and stop it from crashing.

Thee police get there and I fly away. I don't even want to talk to anyone. I touch my earpiece. "Hey, Jordan, you there?" I don't hear anything. "Dude, this is pretty serious."

I can't tell his voice is pretty serious. "What's up?" I asked. Now I'm curious. "I think I know who killed your aunt. It was the Southside Savages. I saw some footage of the accident from a store camera and I saw a guy with a gun pass by the car. He also had a southside leather jacket.

I can't breathe. I'm so mad, the pits of fire are stopping me from breathing. Now I'm definitely determined to get these guys. I found out who killed my aunt, now I have to take them to jail.

I get home and start to cry in my bed. Why? Why would they take my aunt's life? She was so good so why her? I cry to bed and try to forget this all happened.
